  • Patent number: RE31789
Abstract: A calling party's telephone number displaying device in which, while the telephone set of a subscriber is ringing in response to calling signals from a telephone exchange office, the telephone number of a calling party and information are displayed on digital display units at high speed before lifting the handset. Accordingly, the subscriber can determine whether or not he should answer the call before picking up the handset. Thus, his privacy can be protected from a variety of telephone troubles such as wrong number and nuisance calls. The display is maintained as it is even if the handset is put back after the talk but it will be cleared automatically upon reception of the next call to display the telephone number of the next calling party. When the subscriber picks up the handset to make a call, the internal circuit is automatically changed to display a telephone number dialed by him.

  • Patent number: 4490861
Abstract: Dispensing apparatus for dispensing bleach and/or detergent or the like into a toilet tank on a controlled basis. The dispenser is rotatable or tiltable; being divided into several portions, one of which is a reservoir, preferably provided at the top of the structure, such reservoir determining the controlled "shot" or dosage to be dispensed. In operation, the dispenser is buoyed up by incoming water such that it rotates, and the reservoir becomes partly filled; but water cannot enter, to any significant extent, from the reservoir into the main chamber of the dispenser. When the water level drops sufficiently in the tank, the device then rotates to an upright position, the trapped air no longer contributing to the buoyancy of the device. Also, the water present in the reservoir can now enter the container and cause the cleaning solution, formed from a cake of bleach or blue dye/detergent, to overflow and be dispensed into the toilet tank and thence to the toilet bowl.

Abstract: A plastic binder for binding lines, rods, or tubes into a tight bundle comprises a binding band and a buckle formed at one end of the binding band and provided therein with a slit for insertion of the other end of the binding band. The operability of this binder is notably improved by a pendant portion which is provided in the portion of the binding band between the buckle and an engaging member for fast attachment of the binder to a panel and which is adapted so that the lowermost portion thereof falls below the lower end of the buckle. When the binder is provisionally attached to the panel, the pendant portion causes the buckle to rise amply from the panel surface and facilitates the insertion of the band into the buckle.

  • Patent number: 4490887
Abstract: A cable tie comprises a strap having a series of transverse teeth on one side extending between the longitudinal edges thereof, and a fastening head having a passageway therethrough for receiving the strap to form a loop. The fastening head has a pawl cooperable with the strap teeth. The longitudinal edges of the strap are at least in part transversely oblique and each of the corresponding lateral walls of the passageway are similarly transversely oblique. The transversely oblique edge portions on the strap converge to the side of the strap away from the side having the teeth so that the pawl produces a wedging effect to clamp the strap transversely between the lateral wall portions of the passageway. Also, the lateral wall portions of the passageway converge toward each other in a direction away from the pawl. The oblique portions are preferably surface roughened.

  • Patent number: 4490895
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a cleansing and wiping cloth, particularly a cloth of low density wefts and warps formed by interwoven 100% count No. 20 rayon yarn which is treated by chemicals. The treatment includes starching the yarn with cassava starch and CMC having the property of suspending contaminant particles, softening the yarn by a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and a softening agent. The fillers may completely fill up the non-crystalline space of the fibers and cling to the surface of the cloth. The cloth is, in turn, pulled by rollers and ironed, and scissored into pieces of proper size. At least six such pieces are stacked together and hemmed around the periphery to form an entity. The structure is further reinforced by stitching, thereby forming a cleansing and wiping cloth which exhibits excellent absorptivity to moisture, which is easy to dry, and which does not retain any contaminant or unpleasant smell.
