    Abstract: An inter-trolley latching mechanism for a draper header having a pair of shiftable draper sections is disclosed wherein the latching mechanism connects the second draper section to the first draper section for simultaneous movement therewith. A hydraulic cylinder is provided to power the shifting movement of the first draper section in a transverse path relative to the subframe of the header. The latching mechanism selectively connects the two draper sections to permit the hydraulic cylinder to operatively power the transverse movement of both draper sections. A spring loaded retaining mechanism is also provided to lock the second draper section relative to the header subframe when not connected to the first draper section for movement therewith.

The hold-down sickle guard eliminates the need for separate sickle section hold-down plates positioned along the length of the cutterbar and provides a sickle section retaining arrangement of increased strength for every sickle section permitting the linearly arranged, coupled reciprocating sickle sections to be held in close cutting cooperation with associated complementary cutting edges along the entire width of the cutterbar. The hold-down sickle guard includes integral upper and lower sections with a generally horizontal slot located therebetween within which a sickle section is movably positioned.

Tape supply means is arranged to feed the tape onto the first surface such that the tape is inclined to a plane at right angles to the axis of the first surface whereby an edge of the tape engages the curved edge surface and is thereby shaped in order to initiate wrapping.     Abstract: A yarn spinner has two spaced apart upstanding posts whose upper ends each have a slot for receiving and journalling opposite ends of a spindle shaft. A flyer formed by a wire constituting a guide has a loop formed in it through which spun yarn is diverted to a distributor. The distributor is a v-shaped spring clip having a hole in each side for passing over the guide wire and a ring is suspended in the apex of the V through which the yarn is threaded for diverting it to a bobbin on the spindle. Pressing the sides of the spring clip toward each other releases it for movement on the guide wire and releasing the sides re-engages it with the wire. A tensioner line running over the bobbin has a rubber band in it and a capstan allows winding and unwinding line to increase and decrease the stretch of the rubber band to corresponding change the frictional drag on the bobbin.

The output signal of the tachometer may further be used to measure the length of thread payed out from the supply bobbin and/or to generate an alarm signal stopping the bobbin and spindle drives in the event of a slowdown of the roller rotation indicative of a thread break; such an alarm signal could also be produced when a speed sensor coupled with the bobbin drive detects an excessive increase in its operating speed caused in the event of a thread break by feedback from the tachometer.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for twisting a yarn, such as a sliver of staple fibers, is disclosed, and wherein the yarn is advanced through a drafting zone and then through a twisting apparatus. The twisting apparatus includes two circular discs, with at least one of the discs being flexible. Also, in the preferred embodiment, two separate pressure applying members are mounted adjacent the back surface of the flexible disc, with the members being positioned on opposite sides of the plane defined by the axes of rotation of the discs. The two pressure applying members are adapted to be actuated concurrently, with one member defining a first twisting zone wherein S twist is imparted to the advancing yarn, and the other member defines a second twisting zone wherein Z twist is imparted. Means are also provided for controlling the degree of twist imparted at each of the zones, so as to obtain, for example, a twisted yarn composed of core fibers having minimal twist and which are bound by outer fibers of greater twist.

The flexible disc comprises a hub portion disposed adjacent the center of the disc, an annular ring disposed concentrically about the hub portion and including a yarn engaging friction surface on one face thereof, and a distinct and highly flexible junction portion joining the hub portion and annular ring. The highly flexible junction portion permits the annular ring to readily flex in the lateral direction, to thereby permit the deflecting force to be minimized, while still permitting the rotating torque to be transmitted to the annular ring without significant circumferential deformation.

The purpose of the invention is to improve variable cycle propulsion engines for second-generation supersonic aircraft.

A switching control valve is connected between the suction side of the compressor and the four-way valve. A first branch passage is connected at its one end between the four-way valve and indoor side heat exchanger, and at the other end to the control valve. During the heating operation, when the control valve is opened, the first branch passage forms a releasing circuit, thereby releasing the abnormal high pressure to the low pressure side of the refrigeration cycle.

To this end this unit is associated with an external water evaporator which by heat exchange cools the solution inside the last heating stage unit to ambient or slightly above ambient temperature.

    Abstract: A top loading clothes washing machine has a resiliently mounted outer tub within which is a spin tub mounted for rotation about a vertical axis. At its upper end, the spin tub has a weighted balance ring releasably mounted on the inner side of the spin tub and extending toward the central axis to serve as a clothes guard. The balance ring is formed of a concrete aggregate material and is completely covered with a plastic material. The outer tub has a top cap with a spray tube on the underside extending around the periphery of the top cap and the tube has discharge openings directed into a spray channel which breaks up the stream of water and directs it downwardly onto the clothes within the spin tub.

    Abstract: A high security barrel lock and a high security key with a movable external sleeve for maintaining the lock in an unlocked position. The lock has a cylindrical barrel with an axial bore. A hollow plunger and a center pin with an enlarged head are axially mounted in the bore. A pair of locking balls are constrained for limited movement between locked and unlocked positions in radial passageways formed in the barrel. The sleeve is fitted over the barrel and is constrained for movement between a locking ball holding position and a locking ball releasing position. In the holding position, the sleeve holds the locking balls in their unlocked position and, in the releasing position, the locking balls are released by the sleeve and free to move radially outward in the barrel passageways into their locked position. Thus, the installer does not require a key in order to install the lock.

    Abstract: The central locking installation for motor vehicle door locks blocks the locking element of the door lock by means of an additional, separately controllable blocking member. The locking element and the blocking member are driven by separate electrical drives which are connected into mutually parallel-connected current paths of one common drive current circuit. The drive direction of the two drives is controlled by common switches of a pole-changing circuit which reverses the current direction. Into the current path of the drives of the blocking member there is connected a control switch by way of which these drives can be switched on selectively. In the unlocking direction and the unblocking or releasing direction a time control system controllable by means of the door key in the unlocking of the door switches on the drives of the locking element and of the blocking member simultaneously. In the locking of the door lock only the drive of the locking element is switched on in its locking direction.

The publication relates also to a method for recoding such system and to a key member for recoding the system. The lock system comprises a reading unit reading the code on the key and/or recoding unit, a unit comparing and memorizing the detected code and means for activating the mechanical parts of the lock thereby suspending its locking effect. The purpose of the system is to enable recoding of lock independent of a priority determined sequence of codes on the key and without being dependent of a centrally arranged memorizing unit, memorizing the various codes in sequence. The proposed effects are achieved by including a code section on the key member on to which a recoding command may be recorded.

The synchronizing gear (48) is mounted by a connecting portion of the machine between the slides and is meshed with the synchronizing racks (50, 52) which are mounted on the slides by wedge adjusters (53) to adjust backlash of the synchronizing racks with the synchronizing gear. Both rotary and linear hydraulic motors for drivng the slides are disclosed. A pair of tie rod connections (150) preferably extend between the upper and lower bases to control deflection therebetween during the workpiece forming.

The ratio of the internal resistances of the thermistor and the sensing element is substantially independent of the temperature of the thermistor and the sensing element but is dependent on the oxygen concentration in the gas. A first device serves to sense the internal resistance of the thermistor and thereby determine the temperature of the sensing element. A second device serves to sense the ratio of the internal resistances of the thermistor and the sensing element and thereby determine the oxygen concentration in the gas. At first, the first device is enabled and the second device is disabled.
