  • Patent number: 4739544
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a miniaturized multilayer ceramic capacitor having high capacitance which comprises a dielectric body of the type that the grain boundaries thereof are insulated. Multilayer chips are prepared which consist of a semiconductor ceramic material whose major constituent comprises titanate of alkaline-earth metal such as Ba, Sr or the like; and such chips are placed within a container formed of a fired mixture of CuO and Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and subjected to a heat treatment so that copper ions which serve as insulating agent, are caused to uniformly diffuse from vapor phase in crystal grain boundaries of the semiconductor ceramics body of each of the chips.

  • Patent number: 4739545
Abstract: By operating a Z direction position adjustment mechanism by a driving motor, a Z table movable in the X and Y directions can be moved in a Z direction while maintaining its horizontal condition. Vibrations caused in the Z table when the Z table is moved at a high speed in the X and Y directions are damped by vibration damping means provided between the Z table and a base bed fixed to a coarse adjustment table which is mounted on a base and driven in the X and Y directions. Improvement in the accuracy of positioning in the X and Y directions is achieved, as well as a vibration damping effect. A chuck holding member is formed on the table to hold a chuck by suction which in turn holds a mounted member by suction, thereby making the exchange of the chuck easy and preserving the parallelism of the upper surface of the chuck.

  • Patent number: 4739546
Abstract: A laser element assembly used in an optical disk apparatus or others is made up of a laser element for emitting a laser beam and a holder for holding the laser element, and it is required to set the traveling direction of the laser beam accurately to a desired direction when the laser element assembly is incorporated in the optical disk apparatus. In a laser element assembly according to the present invention, the laser emitting surface of the holder is made perpendicular to the traveling direction of the laser beam and is attached to the optical disk apparatus. Thus, the traveling direction of the laser beam can be accurately arranged in relation to a reference plane of the optical disk apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4739548
Abstract: A plurality of magnetic head cores is cut from a preprocessed ferrite core block having a gap formed by means of a fracture method. To this end the core block is notched on a line along which the gap is to be formed. subsequently the core block is subjected to a load (tensile stress) until it breaks on the line. A non-magnetic material in a liquid form is provided between the fracture faces which are kept at a desired distance from each other until the material has cured. In a preferred method the core block consists of a first sub-block having a series of yokes and a second sub-block bonded thereto to define the winding apertures. This permits use of a high grade ferrite only at the gap, and further permits winding the limbs of the yoke prior to bonding.

  • Patent number: 4739585
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically closing the deck lid of an automotive vehicle wherein the deck lid is manually moveable between open and closed positions and carries a latch operable to latch the lid closed and release the lid for opening movement. The apparatus of this invention is advantageous because it will not interfere with manual opening and closing of the lid. It includes a drive mechanism connected to the deck lid and operable when actuated from a remote location such as a switch inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle, to move the deck lid downwardly to a nearly closed position. A moveable striker inside the trunk compartment is engageable with the latch in the nearly closed position of the deck and is operable to pull the deck lid downwardly to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4739586
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the edge grinding of a glass pane in which a grinding wheel is guided to the glass pane so that a grinding point is defined therebetween which travels along the edge of the rotating wheel. Cooling during grinding is provided by a coolant jet dispensed from a nozzle whose end is essentially pointed towards the grinding point. Via a respective control unit, the coolant jet is caused to follow automatically and precisely the movement of the grinding point.

  • Patent number: 4739587
Abstract: A rolling device for a gear-grinding machine in which the rotation portion of the rolling movement is effected by roll bands secured at one end to a roll-band carriage which is movable transversely with respect to the workpiece axis and at the other end to a roll cam. The roll cam is oriented coaxially with the workpiece on a roll-cam carriage which is movably driven back and forth transversely to the workpiece axis. The roll-cam carriage and the roll-band carriage are hingedly connected to a rocker arm which is hingedly supported at a pole point which can be adjusted on the machine frame corresponding with the workpiece diameter, and transfers the back and forth movement of the roll-cam carriage onto the roll-band carriage. The pole point of the rocker arm lies on a straight line which is defined by the hinge points of the two carriages, preferably between the two hinge points. That is, the diameter of the roll cam is then larger than the pitch circle of the workpiece which is to be machined.

  • Patent number: 4739588
Abstract: A jointing method and apparatus is described for jointing rotating blades on surfacing machines such as wood planers. The apparatus includes a pair of rods secured to the surfacer framework. An actuator mechanism is slidably mounted to the rods by a pair of bushings. The actuator mechanism carries a jointing stone securely, yet adjustably, for motion along the length of the rods and along the rotating cutter head. The adjustment mechanism is provided such that the stone can be moved in an arc toward and away from the cutter head. This adjustment is facilitated, along with free motion of the stone holder along the guide rods by a single hand wheel operated at a position remote from the rotating cutter head.

  • Patent number: 4739590
Abstract: A system for performing operations on the edge of an irregularly shaped workpiece, such as seaming the edge of a piece of glass (G) is accomplished by moving the glass (G) along a conveyor (11, 12). The edge of the glass (G) is detected by a camera (13) which makes images of the glass (G). Electronic circuitry (20) receives the image information from camera (13) and determines the location of the edge of glass (G) at a plurality of locations and stores information which is indicative of the entire profile of the glass (G). Additional circuitry (32) receives signals proportional to the location of the seaming heads (16, 18) and compares these signals with the data stored in circuitry (20). When the glass (G) has moved downstream to the position to be seamed, the seaming heads (16, 18) are then moved to the position of the detected profile of glass (G) to perform the seaming operation.

A laminar piece of cloth, canvas or similar material constituting the awning proper is fitted on a bearing structrue formed from tubular elements welded together. The bearing structure is finished at the bottom by vertical sections with a sleeve welded to the free or bottom ends thereof, in which sleeves the top ends belonging to the structure of the scaffolding are housed and attached, and are fixed by radial screws provided in the sleeves. The extreme lateral zones have a bar for the passage of the awning over them, each of which is complemented by a mechanism for securing the awning to the bearing structure.
