  • Patent number: 4739595
Abstract: A worshipping system comprises a worshipping room having an altar, an area for storing a number of cinerary urns, visible means provided in said worshipping room for visually suggesting the movement of the spirits from the cinerary urns to the altar, and control means for actuating said visible means. When necessary codes such as the number of the family or the deceased concerned are inputted into the input unit of the control means, the visible means simulates the transfer of the spirit of the deceased from the cinerary urn to the worshipped object. This causes the worshippers of their ancestors to feel that the spirit in the cinerary urn has been united to the worshipped object through the visible means.

  • Patent number: 4739615
Abstract: An engine in which a very lean mixture of fuel and air can be compressed, ignited and burned to completion outside of the cylinders of an internal combustion engine before it is introduced into a cylinder for effecting a power stroke. Two pistons operate together, piston one being for suction and piston two for power. Piston one introduces and compresses the fuel into rotating combution chambers, and piston two receives the burned fuel and air mixture to produce the power stroke. As the combustion chambers rotate, the fuel and air mixture is ignited by a glow plug. After ignition, the ignited fuel remains confined within the rotating combustion chambers to assure complete combustion. The expanded fuel powers the piston in the second cylinder and is then discharged as a clean exhaust.

  • Patent number: 4739620
Abstract: A power system for use in converting solar energy into useful and stored energy available as output power capable of operating diverse types of power-driven units, such as electric generators, air conditioners, etc. The power system includes solar heat collector means, motor means a compressor system and power storage means. The solar collector system utilizes the sun's rays to heat a liquid medium, such as a refrigerant and convert it into a gas, with the expanded gas being delivered to large motor means. The large motor means is used in part to operate a power-driven unit and in part to drive a substantially smaller motor means operable to pressurize a compressor gas in accordance with the principle of hydraulic pressurization. The combination of the large and small motor means allows the pressure of the solar heated medium to greatly magnify the pressure developed on the compressor gas, which is transferred to the power storage system.

  • Patent number: 4739632
Abstract: An injection cooling arrangement for a rotary compressor whereby the heat of compression may be reduced more efficiently. A liquid refrigerant line is connected to the high pressure side of the refrigeration system between the condenser and the expansion device at one end thereof and at the other end is connected to a refrigerant inlet path located within the compression cylinder. The inlet path is connected to an orifice leading into the compression bore. The inlet path decreases in cross-sectional area as it leads from the liquid injection line to the orifice. The orifice is sized to allow for the restriction to take place at the entrance to the compression cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4739633
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for electrically interfacing a circuit operable at one temperature with a circuit operable at another temperature, comprising a primary cooling or heating surface disposed inside a vacuum chamber which is thermally connected to the first circuit. Transmission lines may extend through the wall of the vacuum chamber to the second circuit which can be located outside. In one embodiment, the first circuit is operable at cryogenic temperatures and is fabricated on an elongated fused quartz substrate together with the transmission lines. The first circuit may be thermally connected to the primary surface via a secondary surface, which may itself be thermally connected to the primary surface via a flexible support and/or a thermal switch. The use of a flexible element in the construction of the apparatus prevents thermally induced movement from shattering the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4739634
Abstract: A compact and easy-to-construct cylindrical counter-flow heat exchanger is provided for cryogenic refrigeration systems. It has an annular body, a helical pipe wound around and in contact with the annular body, and a sleeve which envelopes the helical pipe. A helical flow passage is formed around the annular body in contact with the helical pipe. A high-pressure fluid is introduced into a helical pipe, while a low-pressure fluid flows through the helical flow passage. Heat is exchanged between the two fluids through the helical pipe wall which is made of high heat-conductivity material such as copper.

  • Patent number: 4739636
Abstract: A circular knitting machine for hosiery includes an electromagnetic needle selection system. This selection system includes pivotal selector devices which act on resilient pushers and which are pushed indiscriminately or selectively against the resilient action of the pushers by radially acting cams. The system also includes groups of electromagnets which are placed annularly around the cylinder to exert a retaining effect on the selected cams when they are pushed against these by radially acting cams. In addition, electromagnets are placed between adjacent retaining electromagnets and they are of a size not exceeding the gap between the needles and the adjacent jacks. The jacks are excited selectively by means of a program control in order to exert the same retaining action as the retaining electromagnets and to effect abandonment or relinquishing of a selector which is moving.

  • Patent number: 4739637
Abstract: This manufacture prevents an unauthorized removal of an article or equipment item, such as a typewriter, for example, from a table top or the like. The article is secured to a cover plate which includes a plurality of hooking members or ears on its underside. These hooking members in turn engage apertures the body formations for which are securely mounted to a flat plate that in turn is secured to the table top or mounting surface. To assemble cover and plate into a locked position, the cover and its ears are shifted in a direction for engagement of ears to apertures. In this position then, a tang on a cylinder lock mounted in the cover's periphery is rotated into abutment with an edge of the plate, and the lock locked. The cover can no longer shift in a reverse direction to disengage ears from apertures. Case-hardened sleeves are provided to prevent sawing of screws which secure cover and article together.

  • Patent number: 4739639
Abstract: An auto-directing lever lock includes a case housing a cylinder (4) with a plug (3) mounted for movement therein. The plug includes a keyway (14) for accepting a key bit (7). A keyway opening (15) on the surface of the plug provides access for lever tumblers (6) to engage lever steps on the key bit. The key bit is detachable from a bow and shank section (8), and inserted in to the keyway through a key hole (39) in the case. The tumblers ride on a surface of the plug and are held away from the lever steps of the key bit during rotation of the plug, until the tumblers disengage the plug surface due to the keyway opening therein. The tumblers, when disengaged from the plug surface, fall onto the lever steps of the key bit to align gatings (32) of the tumblers so a bolt stump (28) may pass therethrough to retract a bolt (5) of the lock.

  • Patent number: 4739640
Abstract: Apparatus for use in cooling and/or drying or cleaning elongate material, such as drawn wire, tube or strip material, the apparatus comprising a chamber, which may be formed at least in part by a flexible tube, having an inlet and an outlet through which the material enters and leaves the chamber, and the chamber is connected via an outlet passage to a device which creates a sub-atmospheric pressure within the chamber. The sub-atmospheric pressure lowers the evaporation temperature of the cooling liquid which is on the surface of the material which evaporates and cools the material and the sub-atmospheric pressure causes air to flow into the chamber around the material in the region of the outlet and this airflow is at high velocity and wipes the material. The apparatus is preferably located on the end of a structure in which a drawing die is housed.
