  • Patent number: 4765081
Abstract: The invention relates to an improvement in a multiple-shell weapon magazine or clip of the type employing either one or a pair of transversely-curved negator springs fastened to a particular sidewall of the cartridge chamber alongside the stack to lift the shells one-at-a-time through the open top thereof on a follower which is characterized by the spring or springs being so arranged and sized that the rearmost incurled edge of one seats within the annular grooves encircling the rear ends of the shells in the stack while the foremost incurled edge of the same or another spring curls around the bullets thereby alleviating any undue pressure applied to the shell casings by the medial portion of one spring or the adjacent edges of the pair that otherwise could cause the stack to jam. The invention also encompasses the method of preventing the shells from jamming in such a magazine by sizing and positioning the spring edges in the manner aforementioned.

  • Patent number: 4765087
Abstract: The present invention includes a mole trap having a pair of spring-loaded jaws. A platform is pivotally connected to the jaws to limit the travel of the trap into the ground and to stabilize the trap on the ground when it is set. A lever assembly forces the jaws open and sets the trap when the lever reaches an off-center position. An adjustable trigger mechanism is positioned on the ground above a mole borrow. The vibration of a mole traveling beneath the trigger causes the lever assembly to move upward from the off-center position and the jaws to close and destroy the animal.

  • Patent number: 4765091
Abstract: This invention relates to the containment of rodent baits in a protected container that can easily be serviced by authorized technicians and one that presents baits to a target rodent population. Specifically, the device is designed to provide a pest control operator with a highly effective and protective containment structure that can be adopted to numerous forms of rodent baits and one that can be knocked down to form a relatively flat package when not in use. This use of a knock down device provides the user with a device that can be efficiently stored prior to installation and one that can be shipped economically over long distances. The use of two separate gates or containment sections allows the refill of only that section of the bait structure that may have been attacked by the rodents and conserves the use of bait to the actual feeding patterns of the rodent population.

Abstract: A foldable expandable pallet (10) having a basic square configuration. Each pallet is comprised of a plurality of struts (11, 13) joined together by node point fittings (12) to make a rigid structure. Some of the struts have hinge fittings (15) and are spring loaded to permit collapse of the module for stowage (26) and transport to a space station. Dimensions of the pallet are selected to provide convenient, closely spaced attachment points between the relatively widely spaced trusses (21, 30, 31) of a space station platform. A pallet is attached to a truss at four points: one close fitting hole (22); two oversize holes (24, 25); and a slot (23); to allow for thermal expansion/contraction and for manufacturing tolerances. Applications of the pallet include its use in rotary or angular joints (29); servicing of splints; with gridded plates (34); as instrument mounting bases; and as a roadbed (36) for a Mobile Service Center (MSC) (37).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for assembling modular tooled masonry structures, the method comprising the steps of: providing a pre-fabricated wire support structure having a shape generally corresponding to the shape of the completed masonry structure; assembling a first row of bricks in a pre-determined pattern onto the support structure using the support structure as a support and spacing guide for the bricks; masking selected areas of the bricks by partially surrounding the bricks with an open top removable mortar molding form; applying a pre-determined quantity of mortar into the mortar molding form covering accessible unmasked areas of the bricks with a pre-determined thickness of mortar; leveling the mortar; allowing the mortar to partially set; removing the mortar molding form from the bricks thereby revealing a tooled row of bricks; and repeating the above steps to provide additional tooled rows of bricks as needed to complete the masonry structure.

Abstract: A tool for use with building block or brick walls consisting of a flexible rubber cavity worn over the index finger of one hand and containing an integral rectangular end with front and rear flat parallel sides. The rectangular end extends downwardly at 90.degree. from the axis of the finger and is placed over the side of a brick when grasped by the hand. The shape of the finger cavity approximates the shape of the finger and contains an irregular lip and depression to maintain a secure fit even when the finger is bent and moved. A method of using the tool involves laying building blocks with adhesive between the blocks.

Abstract: A film continuously fed passes through first rollers and second rollers disposed at wider spaces than that of the first rollers. The first and second rollers are relatively moved and the speed of part of the film continuously fed is reduced to zero temporarily. The tape cut into a strip is juxtaposed in contact with the part of the film of which the speed is reduced to zero and is welded to the film by means such as the high-frequency welding means in spaced manner.

Abstract: The apparatus for welding a strip of tape to film includes a tape feed roller for feeding the film continuously and a welding roller disposed in a position where the film is held between both the rollers, both the rollers being rotated in synchronism with each other. The tape is held onto the outside periphery of the tape feed roller and is cut into a strip by a cutting member. The tape is fed to be overlapped on the film while being held onto the tape feed roller. The film and the tape are held between the tape feed roller and the welding roller and the tape is welded to the film in spaced manner by a welding member provided with the welding roller.

Abstract: A process for covering a paint tray so that it may be reused without the necessity of cleaning. The process involves the placing of a flexible, paint-impervious bag over the entire paint tray before any paint is placed therein. The bag is sufficiently large so that a portion of it fits against the interior of the tray and is of sufficient length so that it extends past the end of the paint tray. After the paint tray has been used, the plastic bag is completely reversed thereby capturing and containing all the paint that was formerly in the tray leaving a completely clean tray.
