  • Patent number: 4785509
Abstract: Disclosed is a hook which may be attached to an end of a rope and used to pull a boat into dock. The hook has an elongated shank having first and second ends and an end opening in the first end of the shank into which a rope may be received. A single tine extends from the second end of the shank and has a free end spaced from the shank. The shank has a substantially wide and flat surface directed towards the tine which together with the tine forms a hook throat. The first end of the shank, from which the rope may extend, is beveled to form an obtuse angle with the flat throat surface of the shank. When the hook is attached to a rope and is thrown over an object, the rope may be retracted to pull the hook toward the object such that contact of the angled first end of the shank against the object, in cooperation with the weight of the tine causes the hook to align itself such that the tine will engage the object.

  • Patent number: 4785511
Abstract: An improved method of forming and assembling two-part merchandise display hooks, including new design features of the hook itself, enable two-part hooks to be manufactured and assembled at extremely low cost. Wire from a continuous length is gripped and bent to form the outer portion of the hook. The wire is then severed and bent in a single operation to form a hook-mounting portion. While the severed wire remains gripped by its shaped outer end, a preoriented and guided base member is applied over the just-formed mounting portion of the wire. A retractable bend-forming member is withdrawn when the base member is applied to the wire, to enable the bent portion to be fully received within the plastic base. Major manufacturing economies are realized.

  • Patent number: 4785512
Abstract: The invention in question is a repairing machine, which is suited to repairing damaged conduits which are inaccessible for repair work. This repairing machine is remote-controlled and monitored with television cameras. At the head of the driving carriage, various devices, which are necessary for the repairs, can be attached to a motor-driven rotatable toolhead. A simple construction of the movable head has made it possible to accomplish all of the necessary movements with uncomplicated mechanics, and at the same time, to forego a tedious slide coupling for the control lines without letting them get tangled with the device. Therefore, with this invention, the production costs for the whole device could be lowered and, likewise, the proneness to repairs could be reduced.

Abstract: A bow mountable range finder for elevated tree stand use includes a housing and a triangular tubular chamber containing air and medium viscosity liquid. The triangular chamber contains a horizontal venting section, a vertical indicating section, an inclined section and a horizontal reservoir with air and liquid freely movable throughout chamber depending upon the orientation of the range finder. The indicating section is translucent and has a removable graduated scale calibrated for various heights above ground, a battery powered lamp illuminates through the indicating section and scale. A switch is operable by an archer outwardly of the housing. The reservoir section is sized to accommodate approximately one-half the fluid capacity of the indicating section when the range finder is horizontal and thus allows for rapid lowering of the liquid level when the range finder is rotated counterclockwise.

Abstract: The ring-shaped sighting device comprises an annular ring-shaped space the axial height of which decreasing from a window provided in the annular space for observing the level of the liquid to the opposite side. Hence, the uneven bottom forms a displacer for the liquid present in the annular space, so that the volume of this liquid versus its surface can be maintained of a low value on the entire periphery of the annular space. In this way, thermal dilatation of the liquid has no significant importance on the level of the liquid which guarantees an indication largely independent of the temperature.

  • Patent number: 4785552
Abstract: A housing open at both ends has opposed concaved radiant emitter walls which are disposed on opposite sides of a conveyor for defining a drying chamber through which the conveyor moves freshly coated objects. Heated air from a closure is fed to outer cavities in the housing and this air passes inwardly through nozzle ports in partition plates to impinge and heat the walls. A major portion of the air returns to be reheated in the closure. Fresh air is introduced, in heat exchanging relationship to the heated air, to ducts which discharge into the drying chamber. Overhead fans selectively circulate turbulent or laminar air in the drying chamber. Air is withdrawn from both the drying chamber and the outer cavities via over head exhaust ducts. A computer and sensors control the temperature of the emitter walls by controlling the heating of the heated air.
