    Abstract: A medication packaging and dispensing machine has a solid oral medication feeder bowl mounted near the top and a sizing disk in the feeder bowl to receive the medication units such as capsules or tablets from the bowl and deliver them individually to a drop tube through which they descend to a packaging station. Packing strip material stored in two rolls is pulled into the packaging station by a cooperating pair of rotary pull and seal platens which move the strips around the medication units and seal the strips together perimetrically around each unit. A printer prints medication and patient identifying information and prescribed administration date and time information on one of the strips for each unit as the strip is moved toward the packaging station. Gear drive and gear belt drive means and position sensing switch and motor control means coordinate the movement of the disk drive with the movement of the platens and the printer whereby each packaged unit has relevant information printed thereon.

    Abstract: An electronic computer orders magazines of multiple titles from dispensing units, each of which has a single title assigned to it, and these orders are organized by carrier route, that is to say all magazines for subscribers of a specific carrier route are ordered in sequence. The orders are directed to a magazine dispensing unit which has a different pocket for each title, and these pockets deliver to the conveyor one after the other magazines that fill the subscriptions to which the various addresses pertain. The computer also causes the insert dispensing unit to deposit on the magazines as those magazines pass under the unit inserts that are appropriate to the magazine and its subscriber. Next a wrapping machine places a transparent polymer film around the magazine and any insert which is on it. Then the conveyor carries the magazine past an ink jet printing unit where the subscriber's name and address are applied to the polymer envelope, the printing unit likewise being connected to the computer.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for the delivery of replacement units, particularly suited for the delivery of replacement electronic components such as Programmable Read-Only Memories (PROM's) mounted on printed circuit boards. U-shaped track guides containing flexible linkages are fixed to the inner walls of the housing and extend between the upper and lower regions. Each region is accessible through a door which when closed may only be opened by from inside the housing. To deliver a replacement unit the replacement unit is inserted into the track guides in the lower region and the lower door is closed. The housing is then wrapped, with the upper door open, with shrinkable plastic, or other suitable material. A customer's address and any necessary mailing permits are fixed to the wrapping and the whole is mailed to the customer.

One embodiment has both pinch rollers mounted on a pivot arm which is pivitally mounted on an eccentric to permit an adjustment of the position of the pinch rollers relative to the feed roller.

In other arrangements the teeth may be replaced by a brush-like structure or by rods or other crop engaging elements, backed by plain transverse ribs for collecting and conveying detached crop parts.

    Abstract: A system for preventing vapor-lock in a positively pressurized loop-type engine fuel line having the low pressure or tank return portion of the fuel line passing through a heat exchanger disposed in the refrigerant line for the vehicle air conditioner between the endothermic heat exchanger or evaporator and the compressor inlet. A thermistor senses the temperature of the refrigerant discharging from the fuel line heat exchanger and a pressure transducer senses evaporator discharge saturation pressure. Look-up tables are used to determine saturation temperature from the saturation pressure, and saturation temperature and actual refrigerant temperature compared to generate a pulse-width modulated control signal for controlling an electrically operated refrigerant expansion valve to maintain a desired amount of superheat at the discharge of the fuel line heat exchanger.

A transfer tube allows the liquid helium container to communicate with the condensation chamber. The transfer tube has a gas flow path and a liquid helium flow path independently thereof. When the liquid helium in the liquid helium container is evaporated into gas helium, the gas helium is guided to the condensation chamber through the gas helium flow path. The gas helium is condensed by a condensation heat exchanger into liquid helium. The liquid helium is guided to the liquid helium container through the liquid helium flow path.

The housing and manifold are rotatable from a first operative position where the nozzles are in communication with the interior of the structure, to a second inoperative position where the nozzles are substantially isolated from the interior of the structure so that the nozzles may be removed for maintenance, cleaning or replacement without significant loss of inert gas from the interior of the structure.

The arrangement comprises an inner sleeve with holes to align with a hole in the hinge pin to accomodate a holding pin. A wafer lock has a body which extends through the outer cylinder into the inner sleeve which is provided with internal notches or grooves. Removal of the key causes wafers to extend form the key body to grip the notches or grooves thereby preventing removal of the hinge pin from the hinge. Other embodiments of the inner sleeve fascilitate its use.
