  • Patent number: 5038453
Abstract: The present invention proposes a method of manufacturing semiconductor devices from an elongated leadframe by using a differential overlapping apparatus. The leadframe has longitudinally spaced pairs of staggered leads. The overlapping apparatus functions to deform the leadframe during transfer thereof, so that each pair of staggered leads assumes the same longitudinal position but displaced away from each other perpendicularly to a plane containing the leadframe. The leadframe is further deformed to cause the pair of leads to move toward each other, so that a semiconductor chip is sandwiched between the pair of leads for bonding.

  • Patent number: 5038454
Abstract: A method for producing an integral bottle/collar combination for use in a package for storing and dispensing potentially dangerous material such as medicament tablets. The package is resistant to opening by children yet readily openable by adults. The process includes a step of injection molding a polymeric part having a finish portion, a preform portion, and a flange portion. The flange portion has at least one integrally formed socket having a resiliently deformable pushtab connected by a hinge. The preform portion of the injection molded part is blow molded into the shape of the bottle. The hingedly connected pushtab is then folded into its in-use position.

  • Patent number: 5038455
Abstract: Method of manufacturing a tube coupling body in a plastics material using injection moulding tooling. The body is formed with a cylindrical bore having enlarged end portions in a mould body and using removable cores. The cores form both the internal bore of the mould body and also end parts of the mould body so that once the cores are removed, end parts of the coupling body are revealed in the mould. While the end parts are still hot from the initial moulding operation, forming dies having tapering end cavities are pressed over the end parts of the moulding to form the end parts of the moulding with both external and corresponding internal tapered surfaces. The tapered internal surfaces of the end parts thus formed provide tapered cam surfaces for engaging the resilient arms of collets to be inserted in the coupling body to receive and lock tubes in the coupling body.

  • Patent number: 5038457
Abstract: This invention is directed to a harness producing apparatus for producing a harness (1) by cutting a wire (600a, 600b) having a core covered with a covering, stripping the covering from a cut end portion of the wire and attaching a terminal (604a, 604b) to the stripped end portion of the core. According to this apparatus, a holding means (201) for holding the wire (600a, 600b) is three-dimensionally moved by a moving means (202). When the covering is stripped off, the holding means (201) holds the wire (600a, 600b) at the vicinity of the cut end, so that the wire (600a, 600b) hardly expands and the stripping can be accurate. Further, when the terminal is attached, the core can be moved to a proper position in relation to a terminal attaching means (400) according to a type of terminal.

  • Patent number: 5038458
Abstract: A flexible elongated resistance heating element of improved uniformity and ease of termination has a continuous strip of resistance wire formed about a flexible elongated strand of insulating material in a generally helical pattern of nonuniform pitch with regions of increased pitch and correspondingly reduced turns density which regions experience little increase in temperature when the element is energized. The pitch of the helical resistance wire pattern varies as it approaches each of the ends of the element to provide a region of increased pitch followed by a region of decreased pitch at each end. Shorting wires may thereby be eliminated. An insulating coating surrounds the resistance wire and strand and electrical terminals are connected by crimping to the regions of decreased pitch of the resistance wire at the ends. The heating element may be bonded to a support member in a serpentine pattern with the cool end regions extending freely from the support member.

  • Patent number: 5038464
Abstract: A film magazine assembling system includes a plurality of two-part magazine casing assembling chucks. Each chuck is formed of a pair of chuck members the inner surfaces of which substantially form a cylindrical surface in a closed state. In an open state, one of the side edges of one of the chuck members parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical surface is spaced from the mating edge of the other chuck member. An indexing plate is rotatable about a substantially horizontal rotational axis and supports the magazine casing assembling chucks at regular angular intervals about the rotational axis so that the longitudinal axis of said cylindrical surface is held horizontal. The indexing plate is intermittently rotated by an angle equal to the angular interval, thereby successively stopping each magazine casing assembling chuck at a plurality of stations.

Each of the structural parts has a cutout formed therein and the parts are disposed in the bellows so as to cause the cutouts to be mutually aligned in the undeflected condition of the bellows. A light barrier directs a light beam through the cutouts which becomes at least partially shaded in response to a deflection of the one structural part.

Abstract: A strip of pressure sensitive tape is laid out along top and bottom plates or top and bottom tracks of a wall that is to be constructed with studs at a fixed spacing. The tape bears stud location marks at preselected intervals for ease in locating the studs for connection to the top and bottom plates and top and bottom tracks. The tape is provided in a supply roll that is rotatably mounted in an applicator tool having a handle and a pressure roller that enable the tape to be pressed against the plate or track and withdrawn from the roll as the tool and tape are moved along. To facilitate locating and positioning of the end of the tape, and therefore of the first stud location mark of the tape, the tool is provided with a pressure foot extending from the pressure roller and has an edge which may easily be positioned at the desired starting point of the tape, as, for example, against an existing wall.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a measuring/positioning device. The invention herein is particularly designed for determining the elevation above a reference floor surface of an overhead object, such as pipe, conduit, duct work, structural steel and the like, the elevation of the center line of tubular objects, and the plumb position on the reference floor surface above which the center line of a tubular object lies. The present invention includes a sensing head that is pivotally secured to one end of an elongate measuring rod. The measuring rod has a measuring scale thereon and is slideably and telescopically engaged within a rigid elongate rectangular housing. The housing includes means for releasable securing the measuring rod at various positions there along, and includes read out points positioned thereon. A pair of level indicators are secured to the housing so that the measuring rod and housing can be positioned to extend through a true vertical line.
