Abstract: This invention relates to a new distinct short day type strawberry variety named `PSI-.118`. The new variety produces a relatively high fruit yield, greater than `Muir`, but less than `Selva`. The variety is characterized by its medium to large, smooth and conic, relatively dark colored fruit having excellent flavor, better than `Selva` and `Muir`, and excellent firmness, resulting in shipping quality comparable to, or better than, the standard cultivars. The variety is also distinguished by its dark foliage, slightly downwardly cupped at the tips, and its erect growth habit.

Abstract: A Chrysanthemum plant named Dark Falma particularly characterized by its flat capitulum form; decorative capitulum type; bronze-red ray floret color; diameter across face of capitulum of 60 to 70 mm when fully opened, when grown as single stem spray cut mum; photoperiodic flowering response of 66 to 71 days to short days in Bogota, Columbia, under temperatures of minimum 6.3 degrees Celsius night and maximum 29 degrees Celsius day; plant height, with 14 long days prior to start of short days, ranges from 97 to 109 cm; peduncle length of the first lateral at flowering after removing the apical bud ranges from 8 to 10 cm; peduncle length of the fourth lateral ranges from 10 to 20 cm; and excellent tolerance to low night temperatures for bud initiation and flower development.
Abstract: A Chrysanthemum plant named Lexus particularly characterized by its flat capitulum form; daisy capitulum type; yellow ray floret color; diameter across face of capitulum of 76 to 89 mm when fully opened, when grown as a single stem spray cut mum; flowering response under normal temperatures is 50 to 54 days after start of short days; plant height is 91 to 102 cm when grown with 6 to 8 long days prior to start of short days; peduncle length of the first lateral at flowering after removing the apical bud without growth regulator applications is 8 to 13 cm; peduncle length of the fourth lateral at flowering is 13 to 18 cm; and terminal spray formation.
Abstract: A method of making a carburetor by first extruding a length of material and then cutting a carburetor body of predetermined length from the extrusion. The extrusion includes a passageway. A venturi member is molded of plastic material and inserted in the passageway. A fuel bowl is molded from plastic material and is secured to the body by means of a resilient clip.

Abstract: A modular knifeback for a sickle knife assembly that is made into lengths that are standardized for permitting ease of shipment, storage and handle, and which lengths can be spliced into a desired extended length knife assemble for use in harvesting machinery, or the like, without sacrificing rigidity and strength where the modular sections are joined together. The modular sections are made sufficiently long so that the bolts or rivets used where the modular sections join are capable of withstanding the loads that are incurred on the knife assembly during use. The modular sections of the sickle are easily kept, and stored, and are assembled using standard components without specialized tools.
Abstract: A cooling jacket arrangement for the cylinder head of a multiple valve internal combustion engine embodying a single camshaft for operating all of the valves. The cooling jacket is supplied with coolant in proximity to portions of the cylinder head that support the exhaust valves and coolant is discharged from outlets formed in portions of the cylinder head that journal the intake valves so as to insure uniform cylinder head temperature. The invention is disclosed in combination with either single or multiple spark plug arrangements and in each embodiment at least a portion of the spark plug is also surrounded by the cooling jacket.
Abstract: An electrolytic process employing a water solution of metal lactates or lactic acid and metal hydroxides, rapidly and safely removes metal plating bleed, residual oxides or the like (stains), plastic flash, resin bleed and deflashing media, from electrodes of electronic devices. Anodic etching or a combination of cathodic and anodic etching is preferred. Noble metals are selectively removed without cyanide compounds. For example, excess silver from spot plating on copper leadframes is etched away 2-3 times faster than the underlying copper. After cleaning the device leads are bright, polished, stain-free and without scale, residual plating bleed, deflashing media, plastic flash or resin bleed. The process is effective, less hazardous, easy to use and economical.

Abstract: Modified benzylic ether resole resins and process for their preparation. The resins are prepared by treating a phenol with a molar excess of aldehyde in the presence of a divalent metal ion catalyst at a pH below 7 followed by further reaction at a pH above 8 in the presence of an alkaline catalyst. Alkaline solutions of the resins are used as foundry binders in an ester cure process.
Abstract: A cylindrical permanent magnet suitable for use as the rotor magnet of a stepping motor. The magnet is a sintered cylindrical permanent magnet having a composition expressed by MO.nFe.sub.2 O.sub.3, where M represents Ba, Sr, Pb or mixture thereof, while n represents a value of 5 to 6. The sintered cylindrical permanent magnet is provided on its surface with multipolar anisotropy of more than 8 (eight) magnetic poles. Disclosed also is a method of producing the cylindrical permanent magnet.
Abstract: Camouflaged garments of the type used by hunters, outdoorsmen and the like. Particularly, a garment having a plurality of elongated connectors secured at each end so as to form connector loops extending outwardly of the garment. The camouflage element consists of a pair of simulated leaves having a common stem, such that a simulated leaf extends from each end of the stem. The stem is flexible so that it may be interlocked with the connector loop and thereby releasably support the simulated leaves on the outside of the garment. The leaves are characterized by their simplicity of construction and the ease of interchangeability depending upon the change of seasons or habitat.

Abstract: A locking or adjustment device is placed on the of the shell of a helmet for the purpose of attaching, securing, detaching or adjusting the effective length of a chin strap or cheek strap. The locking device may be part of a multi-part or flip-up helmet shell. A manual control device is located on the helmet shell and is accessible from the outside of the shell such that manual pressure on the control surface of the control device from outside the shell disengages a connection with the chin strap. The control device is integrated with the helmet shell in the area of the neck ring, preferably on the side of the neck ring. In a neutral position of the control device, the control surface thereof is continuous with an exterior surface of the helmet shell.
Abstract: A disposable vision clearing device for painting or the like that is formed from three basic components: a flat die cut card stock paper housing blank, a flat die cut card stock paper interior assembly blank and a transparent sheet of film having its one end mounted on a supply roll and its other end mounted on a take-up reel. These basic components are assembled together in a predetermined manner and tab members on the respective paper blank members have adhesive applied to them and two important assembled structures are formed. They are the top and bottom tracks along which the respective top and bottom edges of the sheet of film can travel as it advances across the aligned cutout window portions. Other important assembled structures are the sealed enclosure for the supply roll and the sealed enclosure for the take-up reel.
