Abstract: A skull-cap/clip-retainer combination (10) comprises a skull-cap main shell (16) having clip-retainer pockets (24, 26) attached to an interior surface (20) thereof, each pocket having a wall (28) defining a pocket cavity (30) and a mouth (32) directed substantially toward a peripheral outer edge (22) of the main shell, and an elongated, bistable, spring, clip retainer (14) having first and second legs (34, 36) coupled together. In an open stable attitude of the clip retainer the legs are spread apart, but in a closed stable attitude the legs are closer together. The clip retainer is of a size and shape such that at least a first leg thereof fits into the clip-retainer pocket cavity through the mouth thereof when the clip retainer is slid along a person's head from the outer edge into the interior of the skull cap in an open attitude. The clip retainer can then be forced into the closed stable attitude with the first and second legs clamped onto hair and the wall of the clip-retainer pocket.

Abstract: A tool (150) for assembling stackable elements (52, 54 and 58) to form a multiple conductor connector (50). A holding bracket assembly (100) is incorporated in the tool (150) to prohibit undesirable movement of the lowermost connector element (52) and to maintain alignment of the various elements of the connector (50) during the connectorization process. At least one protrusion (112) is manipulated into physical engagement with a side portion of the lowermost connector element (52). The protrusion (112) is spring-loaded and includes a sharp, tapered edge constructed of hardened material which provides a position-securing force to the connector (50) by becoming embedded into the side portion of the lowermost connector element (52). In addition, a second protrusion (110) is aligned opposite each of the sharp protrusions (112) and capable of providing an additional position-securing force to a second side portion of the lowermost connector element (52).

  • Patent number: 5205035
Abstract: In the fabrication of a circuit device including a substrate for providing connections between connection pins to be bonded to I/O pads on one side of the substrate and chips to be bonded to pads on the other side of the substrate, bonding is achieved simultaneously on both sides of the substrate by using a pin holder on an upper side of the substrate and using the surface tension of a flux to adhere and finely position the chips on the lower side of the substrate. The same or a modified technique may be used for the replacement of chips during repair of the circuit device. Repair of damaged or defective pin bonds yields a bond which is structurally and electrically improved in comparison with the originally formed bond.

  • Patent number: 5205038
Abstract: A transverse cut (18, 19) is made on a heat exchanger tube (4) to be replaced in the vicinity of its connectors (14, 15), at each end. A cut (19') is made in the frustoconical zone (16') of connection of the tube (4) to the second connector (15). The cutting operations are effected from inside the tube (4) and through one of the tube plates (2, 3). The tube (4) to be replaced is extracted from the heat exchanger through the interior of the second connector (15) and the corresponding opening (13) in the second tube plate (3). A replacement tube is introduced into the heat exchanger through the opening (13) in the second tube plate (3) until a first end of the tube engaged in the heat exchanger reaches the level of the cut zone (18) of the first connector (14). The first end of the tube is welded on the first connector (14).

Abstract: The present invention pertains to an apparatus for shaving. The apparatus for shaving comprises at least one blade having an essentially straight and essentially continuous cutting edge. The blade is comprised of a plurality of pliable blade segments aligned adjacent to each other to form the essentially straight and essentially continuous cutting edge such that each blade segment is capable of being deflected in a direction perpendicular to the cutting edge independently with respect to the other blade segments by a surface while in contact with the surface during shaving of the surface. The apparatus is also comprised of a rectangular shaped head which holds the blade in a desired orientation. Additionally, the apparatus is comprised of a handle connected to the head. In a preferred embodiment, there can be two blades held in the head in a tandem relationship. Preferably, the head holds the blade such that the blade segments are freestanding and not prestressed.
