Abstract: Minature rose with yellow-orange blossom petals having red stripes which spread as blossom ages. Plant is resistant to rust and powdery mildew. Rose is cross of variety AROgobi with the variety MORprints.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Grandiflora rose plant is provided which continuously and abundantly forms fully double long lasting blossoms bearing an attractive combination of red, orange, yellow, and pink tones. The vegetation is very vigorous and the plant exhibits an upright and bushy growth habit. Good winter hardiness and above-average resistance to diseases have been observed. The new variety is particularly well suited for service as attractive ornamentation in parks and gardens.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Hebe having a semi-dwarf to dwarf compact habit. The selection is a profuse bloomer in late May to early June with later flushes in late summer and fall, especially if earlier dead flower spikes have been removed. The flowering racemes stand well above the foliage. Individual blossoms are initially of sky blue color. These fade to a paler blue and then to white, giving an unusual bicolor effect. Because of its compact habit the plant is ideal for use in borders or in containers.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of apple tree which is somewhat remotely similar to the "Royal Gala" apple tree (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 4,121) and "Fuji" apple tree (nonpatented) from which it is believed derived, but from which it is distinguished by producing fruit which are mature for harvesting and shipment approximately three-and-one half weeks later than the fruit produced by the "Royal Gala" apple tree and about five weeks prior to the fruit produced by the "Fuji" apple tree. The fruit of the new variety of apple tree is of excellent quality being of semi-blushed coloration, conical to slightly oblate shape and having a very sweet flavor.
Abstract: A primary low viscosity fuel and a secondary high viscosity fuel are fed to an injection pump including a plunger which reciprocates and rotates within a bore in a pump housing. The upper end of the plunger defines with the upper end of the bore a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber is connected through a check valve with a fuel injector for injecting mixed fuel into the combustion chamber of an engine. The plunger has a helical groove thereon which is in communication with the mixing chamber. Primary fuel is fed directly into the mixing chamber. The secondary fuel is fed into an annular groove which is in communication with the mixing chamber through a passage formed in the plunger. The high viscosity secondary fuel in the annular groove forms a seal between the plunger and the wall of the bore to prevent the low viscosity primary fuel from leaking past the seal.
Abstract: A motor vehicle headlight of the type comprising a single light source, a reflector including two zones suitable for generating two different respective light beams, a closure glass, and masking means situated in the vicinity of the source and capable of being displaced for selectively masking the light rays delivered by the source and propagating towards at least one of the two zones. According to the invention the two zones of the reflector are disposed side by side, each of them extending over the entire height of the reflector, each zone of the reflector is constituted by a portion of a reflecting surface sufficing on its own to generate the associated beam, and the masking means comprise at least one screen which, in its masking position, is situated to one side of the source.
Abstract: The surface mounted LED package disclosed herein includes an LED having a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, two electrical contacts on the first surface, and a light emitting portion in the second surface; a housing mounted on the LED and having a generally rectangular parallelepipedal shape, a first passageway extending from a first surface of the housing part way through the housing, the first passageway being sized, shaped, and positioned to receive the second surface of the LED such that the light emitting portion of the second surface faces into the first passageway, and a second passageway extending from a second surface of the housing to a third surface of the housing and communicating with the first passageway; and a lens received in the second passageway and having a first radiating surface located outside the housing and an internal reflecting surface located inside the housing above the light emitting portion of the LED in position to reflect light from the light emitti
Abstract: A static mixing device comprising a conduit in which there are located a plurality of rows of spaced parallel tubes extending across the conduit. The tubes are located in rows in which the adjacent rows extend in a longitudinal direction, but are located at right angles to each other. The heat transfer medium flows through the tubes to maintain the product in the conduit within a preselected temperature range. The adjacent rows of tubes abut each other and thus provide a tortuous path for the product in the conduit to effect mixing thereof.
