Abstract: Apparatus and methods for turning large diameter circular members in limited areas. A circular member having holes capable of receiving a pin is fitted with a semi-circular collar having an inwardly facing pin and outwardly facing ratchet holes capable of receiving a hydraulic ram pin along its outer radius. A jack having a hydraulic ram end on one end and a fixed rotating point at the other is used to apply a tangential force to the circular member so as to rotate the circular member.
Abstract: In a power press having a vertically moveable slide and upper and lower dies which may be transported to and from the power press by means of mobile bolsters, an automatic die change system utilizing microprocessor control. The microprocessor storing data regarding each die set and carrying out the die change operation based on that stored data. The microprocessor control permitting multiple steps in the die change procedure to be carried out simultaneously, thereby reducing the time necessary to effect a die change. The microprocessor control further reducing the time necessary to change a die set by adjusting the slide counterbalance pressure to a level within a predetermined range.

Abstract: There is disclosed a radioligand labeled with a positron emitting radionuclide suitable for dynamic study in living humans with positron emission transaxial tomography. [.sup.18 F]-N-methylspiroperidol, exhibiting extremely high affinity for the dopamine receptors, provides enhanced uptake and retention in the brain concomitant with reduced radiation burden. These characteristics all combine to provide [.sup.18 F]-N-methylspiroperidol as a radioligand superior to known radioligands for mapping dopamine receptors in normal and disease states in the living brain. Additionally, a new synthetic procedure for this material is disclosed.

Abstract: A new and distinct tetraploid Pelargonium.times.hortorum cultivar named BSR-100B Dark Salmon is provided. This new Zonal Geranium cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein the Tango cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 5,933) was pollinated by the Fidelio cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 5,752). The new cultivar forms attractive semi-double salmon florets which contrast well with dark green foliage which lacks zoning. The attractive dark green foliage coloration is well retained even during shipment. The growth habit is inherently compact and self-branching and does not require the use of growth regulators to maintain such growth characteristic. Good tolerance to wind and rain is exhibited.
Abstract: New chloro-meta-phenylenediamines, their use as couplers in the oxidation dyeing of keratinous fibres, dyeing compositions for hair containing these compounds and dyeing process using the said compositions. The invention relates to the compounds of formula: ##STR1## in which Z and Z' denote, independently of one another, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a hydroxyalkyl radical having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, andR.sub.1 and R.sub.2 denote, independently of one another, a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a mono- or polyhydroxyalkyl radical having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, to their addition salts with an acid, and to their use by way of couplers for the oxidation dyeing of keratinous fibres, especially human hair. These compounds, when they are combined with paraphenylenediamines, surprisingly give beige to light brown hues or purple hues of greater of lesser redness, depending on the substitution of the 5-amino group of the chlorobenzene.

Abstract: A fluid operable engine has a cylinder in which a piston slides up and down. The cylinder has a cylinder wall and two end walls. The piston divides the cylinder into two chambers. The piston is hollow, has a cylindrical wall and two end walls, with a rigid tube extending from and through one end wall of the piston through an adjacent end wall of the cylinder so that the interior of the piston communicates with the exterior through the tube. The cylinder has an aperture in each end wall or in its cylindrical wall close to the end walls and the piston has an opening in each of its end walls. A closure member is provided for alternately closing the openings or the apertures as the piston reaches each end wall. The engine is operated either in a positive or negative manner, with fluid being charged into or sucked from the piston or the cylinder. The openings may be closed from within or without and the apertures may be closed from inside or outside. The closure member may be mechanically or fluid operable.

Abstract: A quasi-steno keyboard permits text entry into a computer either by standard letter-by-letter typing or by stenotyping. The keys of the keyboard are arranged in three parallel rows with the tops of the keys in the first and second rows being substantially coplanar and the tops of at least four keys in the third row being coplanar and lower than those in the first and second rows. The four keys in the third row are laterally centered in the keyboard and are positioned, with respect to the keys of the first and second rows, such that a thumb can rest comfortably on each of these keys when an index or other finger of the same hand rests on a crack between adjacent keys in the first and second rows.
Abstract: A switching system is disclosed in which a plurality of incoming highways are multiplexed in time division cells that have arrived are written into a buffer memory, the cells thus written are read in an appropriate order, separated in a multiplex way and distributed among a plurality of outgoing highways thereby to perform an exchange operation. An FIFO (First In First Out) buffer stores an empty address of the buffer memory. The address in busy state is controlled in a manner corresponding to the outgoing highways. When a cell is written in the buffer memory, the empty address is taken out of the data output of the FIFO buffer. When the cell is read of the buffer memory the address already read is returned to the data input of the FIFO buffer by an idle address chain.
Abstract: Highly satisfactory orbital comprising granular hydroxyapatite and spheres of porous, low density hydroxyapatite are described. The implants are useful in enucleation and envisceration procedures. In enucleation procedures, the implants can be sutured to the eye muscles by either insertion in a scleral sac or other suitable container or, in the cast of spherical hydroxyapatite, sutured to the eye muscles by means of holes in the spheres. After healing, the implant is drilled to receive a peg for fixing an artificial eye to the implant to complete the prosthesis.
