  • Patent number: 5299345
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of untwisted yarns from at least two fibril bundles. It gives intermediate method steps, which are so introduced between the main steps of the conventional production method for such yarns (spinning, stretching and texturing), that the reciprocal position of the individual fibril bundles resulting from the arrangement of the spinnerets can be retained through the process. A non-positively acting false twister for each individual fibril bundles, whose strength or thickness can be varied, also makes it possible to reproducibly vary the mixing the fibrils of the individual bundles in their contact zones.

  • Patent number: 5299360
Abstract: A probe comprises a support casing, a movable arm-set with an arm carrying a feeler and a detection device providing a signal further to contact occurring between the feeler and the workpiece. In order to enable the feeler to perform translation displacements along a longitudinal geometrical axis and rotations about transversal axes, the matching between the support casing and the arm-set is obtained by means of a cone-shaped surface, a spherical surface and a spring urging these surfaces into contact. An annular reference surface of the movable arm-set enters into contact with an annular plane surface of the support casing when a first eccentricity value of the feeler, with respect to the longitudinal geometrical axis, is reached, and when a second eccentricity value is reached the signal of the detection takes a determined value.

  • Patent number: 5299361
Abstract: A multi-coordinate probe is described for use in measuring machines and machine tools for measurement of workpieces. A support system is described which is configured as a multi-point bearing or support having a plurality of support points. Each support point comprises a bushing integrated into the measuring dish by way of a counter member for a ball as a support member and which is alignable with a bushing in the probe housing base. The automatic adjustment of the ball is assured by a spherical member carrying the ball and being rotatably supported in a seat or lodgment. In case of a misalignment between the bushing and the ball, a torque acting upon the spherical member causes an alignment of the ball. In the adjusted stable position, the spherical members are fixed relative to their seat or lodgment.

  • Patent number: 5299363
Abstract: A dry end of a paper making machine has a plurality of dryer groups each in turn comprised of a plurality of heatable dryer cylinders which alternate with reversal rolls. A respective support belt meanders past each dryer cylinder and the succeeding reversal roll in each dryer group. The web to be dried is supported on the side of each support belt to contact the heatable dryer cylinders. The reversal roll that precedes the first dryer cylinder in each succeeding group serves as a web removal roll which is wrapped by the second support belt of the succeeding dryer group. The first support belt of the preceding dryer group has the web on the side of the first belt which is toward the removal roll. The first support belt contacts the second support belt on the removal roll over a smaller part of the circumference of the removal roll than the second support belt. The removal roll transfers the web from the first support belt to the second support belt at the removal roll.

Abstract: An excavation apparatus includes a tank partitioned into two isolated chambers. One of the chambers is adapted to hold fresh water and communicates with a flexible wand to be carried by operating personnel. The other chamber is adapted to hold excavated material and communicates with a flexible hose also to be carried by operating personnel. A single, positive displacement vacuum pump driven by a motor is selectively connectable to one or both chambers through a series of valves and hoses. Depending on the valve positions, either the intake or exhaust port of the vacuum pump is in communication with one or both the chambers. The vacuum pump can therefore by used to fill the front chamber with fresh water as well as to pressurize the front chamber so that the water held therein can be discharged through the wand under pressure sufficient to dislodge earth at the excavation site. The vacuum pump can then be used to draw the dislodged earth and discharged water into the other chamber.

Abstract: A detention cell locking system affording improved securement and reliability in the locking network of multiple detention cell doors. Mechanical actuation linkages are interconnected for motion responsive to either select manual, mechanical, or electrical signals actuating a DC motor drive. The locking mechanism incorporates an elongate toggle plate mounted to a carriage plate and a pair of cell door support rollers forming part of a mechanical locking system. The toggle plate assembly on the carriage plate permits a turning moment to be generated for lost motion actuation which effects locking and unlocking of the detention cell doors. A control network determines the length of time that the DC motor is electrically actuated and disengages the power to the motor during manual mechanical actuation.
