Patent number: 5303424Abstract: A boxer-type swim suit for a water skier in which the suit has at least one rear panel, a liner attached thereto along a waistband, a band attached to the rear panel and an elongated strip having its upper edge joined to the rear panel and its lower edge joined to the liner. The elongated strip and band define opposing sides of a vent which extends across substantially the entire width of the rear portion of the swim suit. The vent allows first water and then air to escape which would otherwise be trapped below the waistband of a water skier's swim suit. Both the strip and band are disposed generally parallel to an edge of the waistband and proximate thereto and are joined to each other along a plurality of junctures situated between the ends of the band. Disposed generally perpendicularly to the waistband, contiguous pairs of these junctures are spaced sufficiently apart from each other to allow either water or air to flow substantially unimpeded through the vent.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1991Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Inventor: Hendrick L. Patent number: 5303425Abstract: The inflatable clothing apparatus is designed to provide an inflatable (on position) and deflatable (off position) convection cooled clothing. The apparatus contains a spiralled inner tubular structure attached to the inner portion of the shirt and the inner tubular structure has separate expansion points connected by the air tube. When the expansion points are inflated lifting the shirt away from the skin and opening the cooling flap at the lower rear portion of the shirt, air circulation increases to the skins surface by allowing air to convect upward from the lower flap out through the neck opening. Air passages are also located in the shoulder and upper back area. A release mechanism (valve) is provided to allow deflation of the expansion points in order to provide warmth for the user by closing the flap and having the shirt contact the skin.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1993Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Inventor: Peter C. Patent number: 5303442Abstract: A side (or heel seat and side) lasting machine comprises two lasting rollers (232; 232') arranged one at either side of a shoe support (20) by which a shoe is supported bottom up. Each roller (232; 232') has a helical rib arrangement (294) which, when rotated while in pressing engagement with the shoe bottom, effects an inwiping movement on the lasting marginal portions of the shoe upper. The rollers (232; 232') are inclined to the longitudinal center line of the shoe support, with their free ends directed heelwardly; the acute angle subtended between each center line and the roller axis of rotation is in the order of 50.degree. to 62.degree., preferably 57.degree.. -
Patent number: 5303443Abstract: A hold down device for a dock leveler employs a pair of telescoping members sliding with respect to each other. One member is coupled to the deck and the other to the leveler frame. A resilient member biases the telescoping members toward each other but provides for a degree of float in the system. A brake shoe has a ramp surface and is biased against one of the members as they separate. A release lever moves the brake shoe for disengagement as the leveler is lowered. Thereafter the brake shoe engages and movement is via the resilient member. If the leveler moves down such that the resilient member is compressed, as the telescoping members compress they cause the release member to move thereby slipping the brake. This in turn allows the telescoping members to reset and re-engage the brake.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1992Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Assignee: The Serco CorporationInventor: James C. Alexander

Patent number: 5303446Abstract: A roller style paint applicator incorporating a mechanism which will cause an axial rotational force to be exerted to the paint roller in order to facilitate the distribution of paint to the roller during paint saturation. The mechanism also will allow the paint roller to free wheel during the painting act. The mechanism consists of a pinion gear or cylindrical frictional surface affixed to one of the roller hubs which will become engaged with a gear or arcuate frictional surface during paint pool to roller saturation. During painting, disengagement of the gear or arcuate frictional surface from the pinion enables the paint roller to roll unimpeded.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1992Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Inventor: Joseph D.
