  • Patent number: 5375325
Abstract: A method of producing a rocket thrust chamber includes positioning sleeved cooling tubes within a structural jacket to form a tube bundle, and positioning a liner within the tube bundle thereby sandwiching the tubes between the jacket and the liner. The tubes are then subjected to high internal pressure and inflated at high temperature while the liner is simultaneously subjected to the same high pressure, thereby forcing the sleeved tubes into intimate contact with adjacent sleeved tubes, the liner and the jacket, and the temperature is maintained until bonding has occurred between the liner, sleeved tubes and jacket.

  • Patent number: 5375327
Abstract: A receiver dryer for an automobile air conditioning system embodies a cylindrical housing having a spin-closed top end; an inlet tube and an outlet tube inserted in holes drilled in the top end of the housing and both extending through the housing to their respective predetermined positions; and an axially inserted desiccant bag and thermoplastic perforate filter. The outlet tube extends through a hole in the filter to a predetermined position from the bottom end of the housing, and a retainer clip holds the filter at a set position in the housing while the bottom end of the housing is spin-closed. Spin closing the bottom end creates a thermal gradient in the wall of the housing such that the thermoplastic perforate filter is thermally bonded at its edge to irregularities of the inner surface of the housing thereby forming a barrier to any particulates which might otherwise have passed by the filter.

  • Patent number: 5375330
Abstract: Hand held fluid operated shears comprises first and second blades. The blades are pivotally connected for movement of one relative to the other about an axis. The shears include a thumb-receiving handle and a finger-receiving handle. One of the handles is supported for pivoting about the axis independently of both blades. The other handle is fixed relative to the first blade. A fluid actuator is coupled between the fixed handle and the second blade. A fluid operated servo mechanism is controlled by the second blade and the pivoted handle to control operation of the fluid actuator to move the second blade relative to the first blade in coordination with the movement of the pivoted handle. The rate of movement of the second blade decreases relative to the rate of movement of the pivoted handle as the second blade moves from an open position at an acute angle relative to the first blade to a closed position where it overlies the first blade.

  • Patent number: 5375336
Abstract: A support base of an angular velocity sensor is supported rotatably at one end, and the support base is vibrated by a piezoelectric element. By this vibration, a known rotational angular velocity is applied to the angular velocity sensor. For example, a difference of two output signals of the angular velocity sensor is measured. This difference of the output signals is detected in synchronism with phases which differ from each other by 180.degree., in two synchronous detection circuits. The detected signal is smoothed in smoothing circuits, and further, amplified in amplifying circuits. An output signal of the amplifying circuit is composed in a variable resistor as a composite circuit. Meanwhile, from the output signal of the amplifying circuit, the output signal of the variable resistor and a signal corresponding to the known rotational angular velocity are subtracted.

  • Patent number: 5375360
Abstract: A recoil pad assembly (10) fitted to the stock of a weapon (W) such as a rifle or shotgun for cushioning a shooter (M) against recoil forces produced when the weapon is discharged. A first pad member (12) is installed on a butt end (E) of the stock (T) of the weapon. A second pad member (14) is pressed against a shoulder (S) of the shooter when the shooter prepares to discharge the weapon. The second pad member interfits with the first pad member for movement of the pad members relative to each other when the weapon is discharged. Compression springs (56) then restore the pad members to their original position relative to each other. A seal is effected between the pad members when the weapon is discharged trapping air between the members. Relative movement of the pad members then compresses the air producing a cushioning effect which lessens the recoil force to which the shooter is subjected.

  • Patent number: 5375365
Abstract: A releasalable sinker for attachment to a fishing line having a lure or bait attached thereto. The releasable sinker has a sinker body and a disengageable attachment member disengageably attached to the sinker body. The disengageable attachment member is attached to the fishing line. The sinker body has first and second angled engagement channels for disengageably receiving springable legs of the attachment member. As the sinker body becomes snagged, the springable legs of the attachment member pull free from the engagement channels so that the disengageable attachment member will disengage from the sinker body without the fishing line breaking. Thus, the lure or bait can be retrieved, even though the sinker body has been lost.

Abstract: The plate body of a hydrodynamic depressor is composed of a flat central panel flanked along its opposite longitudinal edges by side panels disposed at dihedral angles to the central panel. A housing carried by the forward portion of the body has a cylindrical crossbore receiving a cylindrical weight that can be shifted transversely of the fishing line and the fishing line and bait leader can be offset from the vertical longitudinal central plane of the depressor body to trim the depressor for traveling along a course offset to port or starboard from the course of the leading end of the fishing line. The upper and lower surfaces of the side panels are crinkled or rippled to form light-reflecting surfaces producing a glitter for attracting fish.

Abstract: A plant shelter (10) is provided which surrounds a plant (P) and provides a microclimate (M) surrounding the plant (P) for enhanced growth of the plant (P). The plant shelter (10) is formed from a film (20) rolled into a cylindrical wall (25). The film (20) has selective absorption characteristics resulting in the film (20) shielding the plant (P) from ultra-violet radiation (U) and visible radiation which is not of a wavelength corresponding to blue light (B). The shelter (10) can be closed partially on a top edge (22) thereof to further isolate the microclimate (M) from conditions of the climate (C) outside the shelter (10).

  • Patent number: 5375369
Abstract: A specialized doubly tongued stake is designed and engineered to align, connect and ground-anchor post or block-like elements in the creation of one-element-high, one-element-thick, stakeable landscape edgings. Each landscape element is channeled with a tongue-locking keyway on each of two parallel, opposed side edges. The elements may be chained into continuous aligned arrangement by the intermediate insertion of the stakes so as to form long flexible landscape edging segments which may be then be staked to the ground in the creation of permanently aligned edging structures. Each landscape edging element is thus doubly staked to the ground with the number of stakes and staked elements being substantially equal.
