  • Patent number: 5418990
Abstract: An operating table, universally applicable for all types of operations, is based on a column (1) which constitutes a support for a two-part bed, with the parts "bed A" and "bed B", each of which is attached to its part of a ring (2) which can be rotated through 360.degree. in the horizontal plane in a bearing unit (3). The bearing unit (3) is arranged on a vertically rotatable device (14) on the supporting vertical column (1) which is designed so that the axis of rotation coincides with the patient's vertical centre of gravity. The patient can thus be rotated in the vertical plane. Thus the patient's rotations coincide with the patient's horizontal and vertical centre of gravity, enabling the patient to be rotated into the required position with a minimum of effort. It will thus be possible to gain access to the operating table from all sides, and there will be a choice between "bed A" and "bed B", with the patient lying on his stomach or on his back.

Abstract: Telescoping slot nozzles for use with a rail assembly are disclosed. Each nozzle includes a fixed portion and at least one telescoping portion slidably guided in the fixed portion. Metal-to-metal contact in the nozzle is avoided, thereby allowing the nozzles to operate at high temperatures. The configuration of the nozzle discharge opening can be easily modified to form an air knife, depending upon the particular application. Each nozzle is independent of the others, thereby facilitating retrofitting existing ovens and maintenance of individual nozzles.

Abstract: In an apparatus for the spin-drawing, on multiple ends, of thermoplastic filament yarns on at least two pairs of godets (1, 2 and 1', 2'), their axes of rotation (7 and 8) are arranged skew with respect to each other in such a way that the axis of rotation (8) of the one godet (2) is arranged to be able to pivot within a plane (12) and the plane (12) forms an angle (.beta.) of 10.degree.-60.degree. with the plane (10). The arrangement according to the invention makes it possible for the first time to spin and simultaneously draw in an integrated manner on multiple ends.

Abstract: An improved method of producing a controlled fragmentation warhead case by mbedding an expanded metal liner on the interior surface of a casing for a warhead or other ordnance device. The process of embedding an expanded metal liner into the casing during the forming of the casing produces a controlled fragmentation grid on the interior surface of the casing. The improved method of producing a controlled fragmentation warhead case is particularly suitable for weapon systems employing large, unitary warheads.

Abstract: A tool for anchoring a housing barrel where in the barrel has a plurality of expandable claws, the tool comprising a support plate moveable axially and a plunger associated with the plate moveable therewith. The plunger has a plate engaging in and a tapered point. The tapered point is arranged to cooperate with an expansion tool consisting of a bowl cage, and a number of balls arranged around the cage periphery. Each ball is brought opposite the claw it is to deform. When the tapering point of the plunger penetrates the ball cage, the bails are displaced radially outward and thus deform the claws radially outwardly in the hole of the door section.

Abstract: A puller for removing an object from a shaft including first and second collars movable relative to one another along an axis, at least two circumferentially spaced damping jaws pivotally supported at one end to the first collar and having means at the other end for grasping the object, at least two circumferentially spaced links, each of the links being pivotally supported at one end to the second collar and pivotally supported at the other end to an associated clamping jaw, and a drive structure for moving the collars together along the axis away from the shaft. A hydraulic cylinder drive axially adjusts the collars relative to one another to control movement of the clamping jaws. The clamping jaws may include bidirectional claws for selective use, with the collars and links being positionable to permit the axial spacing from the first collar to be selectively less than or greater than the axial spacing between the collars.

A preformed, one-piece grip which requires no other tools, agents, equipment, or special expertise for application to a shaft. Once the grip is attached to the shaft, it is generally indistinguishable in appearance, feel, use, and permanence when compared to the one-piece, preformed grips currently in use. The grip's pre-attached, inside out state permits attachment to the golf club shaft by rolling the grip down over the shaft. In this manner, the one-piece, non-fissured structural integrity of the grip is maintained.

  • Patent number: 5419033
Abstract: A method in which the wires from the heads on an actuator arm can be positioned and attached to the arm electronics automatically. A loadspring manufacturing assembly has a pair of wire carrying and positioning tails and a disposable portion. The disposable portion and the wire carrying and positioning tails each have pegs for controlling the position of the wire and for allowing twisting of the wire pairs for purposes of noise suppression. The wires are positioned about the pegs and twisted. The wires are then bonded to the loadspring assembly. A portion of the wire carrying tail has a window or opening therein. The wires are fanned out and spaced apart as they pass across the window. The wire carrying portion also has a living hinge. A portion of the wire carrying tail which includes a latching window which latches a peg is moved about the hinge and positioned at about a right angle to the loadspring. The disposable portion and the unused tail are removed.
