  • Patent number: 5625906
Abstract: A gravity flush toilet system includes a fixture with a water sealed trap and a tank having an overflow tube, a flush valve and a fill valve. A control assembly includes a float assembly with a member for pushing the flush valve toward its closed position as the water level descends. A full volume or a reduced volume flushing operation is selected by alternatively filling or emptying a bias chamber of the float assembly. Water pressure variations are compensated for by increasing the weight of the float with part of the flow through the fill valve as the tank is emptying. A regulated volume of reseal water is carried in a chamber on the float and is discharged into the overflow tube to refill the fixture trap after each flushing operation.

  • Patent number: 5625907
Abstract: A water saving device for use with a fill tube on a water closet having a reservoir tank and a bowl, the fill tube being in fluid communication with the bowl. The water saving device saves water by reducing the amount of water that is delivered to the bowl of the water closet. The water saving device has a hollow body with a fluid passage. The hollow body is attachable to the fill tube of the water closet. The fluid passage has an entrance end for receiving water from the fill tube, an exit end and for permitting water to exit the hollow body and a flow constriction along the fluid passage reducing the cross-sectional area of the fluid passage. The hollow body also has at least one side aperture between the entrance end and the flow constriction, the aperture extends from the hollow body to the outer surface of the hollow body so that water entering the fluid entrance end from the fill tube is forced to exit out of both the fluid exit end and the side aperture.

  • Patent number: 5625911
Abstract: A method and an apparatus (30) for sampling urine at a toilet (10) equipped with a standard water closet bowl fixture (12). An elongated, curved, urine sampling trough (32) having a U-shaped cross-section is used. For sampling of urine, the sampling trough (32) is positioned in the vertical central plane (46) of the toilet bowl fixture in such a manner that it extends obliquely between the upper front region and the bottom region of the inner space of the bowl (14). As the urine sampling trough (32) covers a substantial length in the vertical direction as well as in the fore-and-aft direction, the urine column hits on the sampling trough even when the trajectory of urine column is fluctuated in the vertical or fore-and-aft direction, whereby urine is effectively sampled. As the urine sampling trough is elongated and curved, it can be readily stored under the toilet seat when not in use.

  • Patent number: 5625928
Abstract: In an automatic lock slider for a slide fastener, a yoke accommodating a locking pawl and a leaf spring has a pair of inwardly directed projections, and a generally C-shaped, narrow rigid strip has on its upper edges a pair of taper surfaces corresponding to the respective projections. As the taper surfaces are guided by the projections, the pawl keeps its suitable posture during the assembling of the slider, and the pawl acts reliably while the automatic locking mechanism is either operative or inoperative. The locking pawl is small in width and has one leg portion to be inserted in a groove of the outer surface of a connector of a slider body. The result is that the number of pressing steps is reduced to minimize press traces on the surface of an upper wing of the slider body so that press traces are prevented from coming out on the slider surface though the yoke is smaller in width compared to the conventional one.

  • Patent number: 5625944
Abstract: Assemblies and methods for interconnecting integrated circuits, particularly prepackaged ones, are disclosed. A multi-level electrical assembly--composed of a pin carrier, a set of pads, such as for receiving a surface-mounted integrated circuit, and a set of conductive pathways coupling the pads and the pins--can connect one or more integrated circuits to the socket or other attachment area of a circuit board. The pathways pass through a multi-layered interconnect board, which can be configured to permit any translation of pads to pins for different purposes, or to permit the coupling of additional circuit elements, such as a coprocessor or passive circuits, to the pathways. Inventive methods for forming the assemblies, and inventive systems in which the embodiment of the assembly can be used to increase circuit board density, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5625945
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a crankshaft for a combustion engine with several cylinders, especially for a large diesel engine, the crankshaft including for each cylinder a crank web unit comprising crank webs transverse with regard to the crankshaft and a crank pin connecting the crank webs. Separate crank web units are assembled one at a time to a uniform shaft blank corresponding to the entire length of the crankshaft and having a different diameter in different points so that the diameter is at its biggest in the central part of the shaft blank and decreases towards the both ends thereof. First a crank web unit intended to the point of the shaft blank with the biggest diameter is installed and fixed to its place and after that crank web units intended always in the order of their diameter to the next biggest points are installed and fixed to both sides thereof. Lastly the portions located between the crank webs of each crank web unit at the position of the crank pin are machined away from the shaft blank.

  • Patent number: 5625948
Abstract: According to the present invention, in the first process, a pipe end of a long pipe is bent with a radius of curvature which is larger than a minimum radius of curvature to form a large R portion. That is to say, bending with a large radius of curvature (R) is performed to form a large R portion in a region in which cracking or excessive reduction of plate thickness of the bend outer-side portion, or buckling of the bend inner-side portion does not occur. Subsequently, in the second process, the pipe is bent with a small radius of curvature form a small R portion by pressing a pipe-end portion of the pipe from a pipe-end direction while fixedly holding the bend side wall of the pipe. In this way, it is possible to obtain an R-minimum elbow configuration irrespective of magnitude of an amount of elongation of material and further without special equipment or mechanisms, by minor modification of present equipment.
