  • Patent number: 5632398
Abstract: A carrying cover for a food pan includes a pair of side channels generally parallel to one another and first and second cover ends generally parallel to one another and generally normal to the side channels. The cover handle is positioned closer to the first end than to the second end. When the two cover side channels and the cover end channel are engaged with respective edges of a steam table pan for pan carrying, the cover handle is "off center" with respect to the pan center of gravity. The force of gravity urges the pan toward the cover end channel which prevents the pan from sliding out of the cover.

  • Patent number: 5632399
Abstract: Self-sealing reagent container, and a system of same on a carousel, related to a vessel having a plurality of separate compartments, each compartment having an opening in an upper surface of the vessel, with a hinged lid member attached to said vessel having spring-like biasing to automatically reseal openings of the vessel after reagent extraction. The lid has a first arm that is normally biased such that its caps cover the compartment openings, but external force can be applied to said first arm to permit the first arm to be translated so as to displace the caps from covering the compartment openings whereby reagent in the compartments can be accessed and withdrawn. Once the reagent extraction is completed and the compartment opening cleared of the extraction device, the normal biasing acting on the first arm of the lid causes it to move back to reseal the caps over the compartment openings.

  • Patent number: 5632411
Abstract: A meter for measuring the quantity of milk by weight flowing in a pipeline comprises a main housing having a main milk inlet pipe and a main milk outlet pipe. A buffer chamber in the main housing receives and holds the milk prior to weighing. A weighing container in a weighing chamber sequentially receives discrete quantities of milk from the buffer chamber through a communicating opening. The weighing container is mounted on a load cell, which sequentially weighs the settled weights of the discrete quantities of milk, the settled weights of which are cumulatively stored. Weighed milk is discharged from the weighing container through a discharge outlet opening. A main valve member and a secondary valve member selectively close the communicating opening and the discharge outlet, respectfully. Milk samples are collected in a milk sample reservoir on discharge of weighed discrete quantities of milk from the weighing container for subsequent collection in a collection jar.

  • Patent number: 5632419
Abstract: A snowfall simulator which houses and dispenses artificial snow from a box like housing (20) using agitation. The box or dispenser has small openings (32) uniformly placed on the bottom horizontal plane. Mounted directly over the desired area, shaved polystyrene, used for snow, is placed inside the housing. A small motor (14) attached on the outside of the housing is connected by gear (16) and shaft (18) to a light-weight reticulated agitation plate (24) resting on the inside bottom horizontal plane of housing. The motor creates a gentle horizontal agitation under the artificial snow causing it to slowly work itself out of the dispenser through the bottom openings. By this arrangement, a long-lasting, gentle, realistic snowfall effect is created uniformly over an imitation village, Christmas tree, or display. Once the dispenser is empty, the snow can be collected off the bottom and placed back into the dispenser for further enjoyment.

  • Patent number: 5632421
Abstract: A metering valve for liquids to be dispensed in doses of fixed amount has a metering chamber of fixed volume which is intended to be filled with the liquid when the container is inverted and the operating valve is partially opened. After the metering chamber has had its contents discharged by the valve being fully opened, and the valve member is released to return to its valve-closed position, the chamber refills under gravity. When the container is replaced in its upright position, liquid is prevented from flowing back into the container by an effective one-way valve. This may be provided by an O-ring or similar mechanical barrier to flow, or the flow passage may be dimensioned so that capillary forces prevent gravity being able to allow gas or vapor in the ullage space to displace the liquid in the metering chamber. By these structures the container remains capable of dispensing the desired fixed amount of liquid immediately after it is inverted and the operating member is operated.

A thumb break or strap includes an end which extends through the opening into the belt loop and is held in place by contact with the hook and pile fastener. The thumb break is angularly adjustable within the belt loop and securable at various angles by the hook and pile fastener. The belt loop assembly, most importantly defines a belt loop and the thumb break and the hook and pile fastener cooperate to restrict the size of the belt loop and provide restriction against unwanted movement of the holster on a belt.

Abstract: A fishing rod and reel holder having a body which includes a cylinder having openings at both ends of the cylinder for receiving rod handles. A J-shaped slot in the cylinder accepts a reel mount. An elastic tensile member, such as a shock cord, biases the reel mount against the tip of the curl of the J, thereby securing the rod and reel within the cylinder. A recess, approximately coaxial with the cylinder, and distal from the cylinder, supports the rod's shaft towards the front of the holder. Suction cups mount the body securely to a surface, such as a car top.
