  • Patent number: 5943899
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of processing corners of metal panel, and more particularly to a method of processing corners of metal panel which is capable of processing the corners of the metal panel without tearing or notching of the material of the metal panel, so that the sealant or welding process thereof is not needed. The method comprises the steps of bending the metal panel according to a desired standard, the end of one side edge of each of bended portions being bended with not being bended by 100 mm from the end, and being then closely attached and fixed onto a supporter; pressing the metal panel using a roller rotationally, upwardly and downwardly moving in the vertical direction to process the corners of the metal panel; and cutting unnecessary metal piece formed in the pressing step.

  • Patent number: 5943907
Abstract: A gin process control system including sensing stations for sensing the physical properties of cotton as it progresses through a gin. A moisture sensor determines, over a wide range of values, the amount of moisture in the cotton. A quality monitor determines the color of the cotton, color distribution, and the amount and type of trash or other impurities which may be entrained in the cotton. A micronaire unit determines both micronaire and cotton maturity. A fiber length tester provides information on the length distribution, breaking strength, and elongation of the cotton fibers. Cotton samples are gathered from the gin flow stream and presented to the sensing stations in a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated fashions. In a fully automated unit, the sensing stations are connected directly to the gin. The sensing stations are also in communication with the gin process control system, which uses the data from the sensing stations to automatically control the operation of the gin.

  • Patent number: 5943910
Abstract: A telescopic multiple ball screw nut linear actuator has an outer screw and first nut defining a first helical ball raceway between them. The screw has a tubular portion with an axially open outer end on which a second nut is fixed. An inner screw, providing with the second nut a second helical ball raceway of opposite hand, is received within the outer screw tubular portion and is projectable from its open outer end, and a non-helically grooved, plug end fitting the inner diameter of the tubular portion of the outer screw is provided on the axially inner end of the inner screw and coacts with the tubular portion of the outer screw, with only an operating clearance therebetween, to restrain whipping when the inner screw is in projected position. The plug in one position relative to the second nut establishes the limit of projection of the inner screw by blocking the travel of the balls in the second raceway from the second nut to the inner screw.

  • Patent number: 5943911
Abstract: A friction clutch assembly in an automotive vehicle transmission is located between an engine-driven input shaft and a torque input shaft for a multiple ratio transmission. A clutch spring normally applies a clutch engaging force to the clutch assembly, thus establishing a torque flow path between the input shaft and the multiple ratio gearing. An electromechanically actuated ball ramp mechanism applies a friction clutch release force to the friction clutch assembly, thereby interrupting the torque flow path between the transmission input shaft and the multiple ratio gearing. An electromagnetic clutch actuator for the ball ramp mechanism, when it is energized, actuates the ball ramp mechanism to disengage the friction clutch. One element of the ball ramp mechanism is grounded to a transmission housing when the electromagnetic actuator is energized.

Abstract: A thermostat employing a lever for selecting the temperature setting has a detent mechanism for creating individual detent positions associated with temperature setting values. In a preferred embodiment the detent mechanism comprises ridges and valleys in the surface of the baseplate on which the thermostat elements are mounted. Abstract: A bevel table saw 10 comprising a table 14 supported by a frame 12, the table 14 defining a slot 16 for a saw blade 44, and a blade assembly 30 mounted to the frame 12 below the table 14 such that, in use, a saw blade 44 of the blade assembly 30 protrudes through the slot 16 to cut workpieces on the table 14, wherein the depth of cut of the saw blade 44 is adjusted automatically when bevel cuts are made in a workpiece. As a result, clashing of the blade assembly 30 with the underside of the table 14 or he frame 12 is automatically avoided, thereby simplifying se of the table saw 10 during the making of bevel cuts.

Abstract: Wheeled luggage cases include at least two wheels and a handle with which to roll the luggage on these wheels. Most prior art wheel handles require the user to use considerable force to balance the case on these two wheels, either when the case is carrying auxiliary cases or when otherwise fully loaded. The disclosed luggage case has a wheel handle which extends out of and along one side of the case on an arm, and a handle grip mounted on this arm in a way that tips the luggage case forward to better balance over the wheels when carrying varying loads. The wheel handle arm also includes a mechanism that supports the handle grip at different heights to further optimize this load balancing function.

  • Patent number: 5943937
Abstract: A pressure differential operated brake booster includes a housing, a diaphragm assembly adapted to divide the interior of the housing into a constant pressure chamber and a variable pressure chamber, a valve body carried by the diaphragm assembly, a valve mechanism arranged within the valve body and including a plunger connected to an input rod, and a reaction assembly disposed between the plunger and an output rod. The valve mechanism is operable to develop a pressure differential across the diaphragm assembly to transmit its movement to the output rod and feed part of the resulting reaction force back to the input rod through the reaction assembly and the plunger. The reaction assembly includes a front reaction disk and a separate rear reaction disk having a diameter less than that of the front reaction disk and greater than that of the plunger. The front reaction disk is disposed between the valve body and the output rod. The valve body has at its front end a recess to receive the rear reaction disk.

  • Patent number: 5943938
Abstract: A rubber damper is disposed between a valve plunger, which forms a valve mechanism of a brake booster, and a plate plunger. An air gap is defined around the outer and the inner periphery of the rubber damper to permit an elastic deformation of the rubber damper. When a brake pedal is further depressed under a servo balance condition, the valve plunger compresses the rubber damper, whereby it is driven forward. This arrangement allows a force of depression required when the brake pedal is further depressed under the servo balance condition to be reduced relative to the force of depression required in a conventional arrangement in which the valve plunger must be driven forward by compressing a reaction disc which is surrounded by an output shaft, a valve body and a valve plunger. As a consequence, the response of the brake booster is improved.
