  • Patent number: 6058537
Abstract: A pressure control apparatus includes an air pump which is pneumatically connected to an air mattress, with an air pressure sensor in the mattress for detecting the current air pressure within the mattress. A central control unit is interconnected with the pressure sensor and the air pump and is programmable to add or remove air from the mattress to control the pressure within the mattress. A plurality of position sensors in the mattress will detect the posture and/or position of an occupant of the bed and transmit this information to the control unit. The control unit can then determine the actual position of the occupant and adjust the air pressure within the air mattress accordingly.

  • Patent number: 6058539
Abstract: A quick-availability scribe utilizes a body having a generally rectangular center format, each corner of the rectangular format extending to a curved space along the ends of the body to define a number of curved slots. Each curved slot has a first side perpendicular to an adjacent side edge, an inward curving middle extent, and a second side terminating at an acute angle to form an acute angled edge extending across the thickness of the material. Adjacent slots at one end of the body may share an outward curved transition extending between their acute angled termination edges of their second sides, but any shape transition may be used. Up to four slots can be accommodated while keeping an overall generally rectangular or square format. It is preferable to arrange adjacent slots at the end of a generally rectangular body to skip the next most adjacent scribing magnitude in order to avoid invading too much of the material forming the transition extending between the acute angled termination edges.

  • Patent number: 6058555
Abstract: A wiper blade is proposed, which is used to clean windows of motor vehicles. The wiper blade has load bearing frame for a wiper strip placed against the window and displaceable over the window crosswise to the longitudinal extent thereof, and a wind deflector strip disposed on the load bearing frame and extending approximately parallel to the wiper strip, which wind deflector strip has a wind baffle facing into the relative wind, one longitudinal edge of which is located nearer the window than its other longitudinal edge located behind the first longitudinal edge in terms of the approach direction of the relative wind. Universal use of the wiper blade is obtained if the wind deflector strip can be mounted suspended from the load bearing frame or standing upright on the load bearing frame, and in each of the two mounting positions has a wind baffle oriented toward the relative wind.

  • Patent number: 6058556
Abstract: A movable-head cloth-cutter bristle block cleaner for cleaning a conveyor-type bristle bed trained between the rotatable end units of a cloth cutter. The cleaner has a movable head attached to a cable cylinder which is coupled to the frame of the cloth cutter. The head moves substantially the entire width of the bristle bed. In one embodiment, nozzles are placed in several rows on the head and are positioned so that they extend into the bristles of the bristle bed. The movable head is coupled to a supply of compressed air. When the bristle bed moves, high volume, high pressure air is delivered to the head and then shoots out of the nozzles. The jetting action of the gas leaving the nozzles effects removal of debris contained within the bed. Because the cleaning head moves across the entire width of the bristle bed, fewer nozzles are needed to clean the bristle bed. This allows the air pressure coming out of the nozzles to be delivered at a high level.

  • Patent number: 6058573
Abstract: A fastener system which can be utilized with leather type fabric, such as shoes for attaching decorative pieces which consists of a flat disk shaped member which has a protruding component which interlocks with another flat disk shaped component which has a receiving component. The tolerances allow the two disk shape components to be affixed together such that they hold an ornamental piece in a certain position. The two disks sit parallel with each other or can be dimensioned to allow one to sit into the other such that on one side the two pieces create a relatively flat surface in relationship to the surface of the fabric. These configurations permit the ornament to be attached to the clothing without the feel of a lump or projection to the person wearing the article. This result is highly desirable, for example, at the instep of shoes where ornaments are often attached and the body is sensitive to any lump or projection.

Abstract: A cable clamp may be constructed from a hollow body, a wedge-shaped member and a means for dislodging the member from the body. The body includes a tapered channel that is sized and shaped to accommodate the member and round, flat or rectangular cable sections. The means for dislodging the member include an aperture extending from one side of the member to the other, at least one cylindrical bearing surface positioned at the upper end of the body, and a camshaft. The camshaft has at least one cylindrical end with an inward facing end and an outward facing end. A cylindrical shaft in orthogonally and eccentrically mounted to the inward facing end. The camshaft is positioned so that the cylindrical shaft will bear against the inner surface of the aperture and the end portion will bear against the bearing surface. When the camshaft is rotated, the cylindrical shaft will cause the aperture and the wedge-shaped member to be displaced upwardly from the body.

  • Patent number: 6058579
Abstract: A snap latch device has a handle with a pair of cam members extending from a lower end. The device also has a flexible snap which protrudes from the handle. The front end of the snap has a barbed lip. The device is designed to interlock a shuttle assembly to a stationary chassis. The device is pivotally mounted to the shuttle which carries a board with connectors. The device is movable between an engaged position and a retracted position. In the engaged position, the cam members engage an end wall on the chassis and the snap inserts through and engages a hole in the shuttle. The mechanical interlock between the cam members and the end wall rigidly secures the shuttle in the chassis. The device is moved to the retracted position by pulling back on the snap to dislodge the barbed lip. This release allows the device to rotate so that the cam members disengage the end wall. After the snap and cam members are clear of the hole and end wall, respectively, the shuttle may be completely removed from the chassis.

Abstract: A clothes hanger clasp, particularly to a clothes hanger clasp that will not easily fall off but can be loosened in a convenient way, includes a metal plate roughly in a "U" shape, where the metal plate is divided into an upper clasp plate and a lower clasp plate that are somewhat curled inwardly. On the upper clasp plate is a protruding part and a force applying mechanism that is curled inwardly. The protruding will enable stronger elasticity to for clothes hanger clasp, and, acting with the upper and lower metal clasp plates, it will tightly clasp onto the clothes hanger. The force applying mechanism facilitates easy application of force to loosen the hanger clasp, and it is designed so that the hanger clasp will not fall off easily, but it can be loosened in a convenient way.
