  • Patent number: 6065235
Abstract: A one-piece or two-piece slide mount, having a window and an inner receiving chamber for the slide film which can be introduced into the mount from a narrow side thereof, and at least two guide ribs running in the direction of insertion, located outside the window on two sides in the transverse direction to the direction of insertion and non-slidably fixing this film transverse to the direction of insertion and on the plane of the inserted slide film. These guide ribs form an insertion aid. Over a longer initial guide portion (7) starting from the insertion entrance in the transverse direction to the direction of insertion (E), the two guide ribs (5, 6) as an insertion aid have a much greater distance between them than the width of the slide film and with an inclined transition portion (8) in the direction of insertion (E) merge into a fixing portion (9). Such fixing portions (9) are spaced apart in the same transverse direction corresponding to the width of the slide film.

  • Patent number: 6065239
Abstract: An automatically closing drop fishing net is provided for commercial fishing operations. The drop net assembly includes an upper float ring, a lower weight ring, and a net formed in a generally tubular configuration. The upper end of the net is attached to the float ring and the lower end of the net is attached to the weight ring. The drop net assembly has several torque lines that extend from locations on the float ring on the outside of the net to locations on the weight ring that are initially angularly offset at least one hundred eighty degrees relative to their points of attachment to the float ring. The torque lines are shorter than the vertical length that the net would assume in a stretched condition with the float ring buoyed upon the surface of a body of sea water and with the weight ring suspended therebeneath and held only by the structure of the net. As gravity pulls the weight ring downwardly from the float ring in the water, tension is exerted on the torque lines.

  • Patent number: 6065240
Abstract: An arm rest for use with a fishing pole supports a user's forearm while fishing and broadly comprises a mount adapted to releasably attach to the butt end portion of the fishing pole and a forearm cradle. The forearm cradle is pivotally disposed on the mount and is operative to move between a stowed position wherein the forearm cradle extends along a longitudinal axis of the fishing pole and a deployed position wherein the forearm cradle extends at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis to elevate the user's forearm above the butt end portion. A selectively actuable locking mechanism engagedly retains the forearm cradle in the stowed position and disengages from the forearm cradle to permit the forearm cradle to pivot between the stowed and deployed positions. A finger slide actuates the locking mechanism between the locked and unlocked positions. A spring may also be interconnected between the forearm cradle and the mount to resiliently urge the forearm cradle into the deployed position.

  • Patent number: 6065247
Abstract: A pivotable, sliding, glazing structure is disclosed which comprises one or more panes supported between upper and lower guide-rails for horizontal sliding movement along the rails. Each pane has a leading edge and a trailing edge and is adapted to perform a pivoting motion about its leading edge at a respective predetermined position for each pane along the guide-rails. This is achieved by means of a pivot arrangement carried on the pane and arranged in the vicinity of the leading edge. The structure allows the pivot arrangement to be locked against further sliding movement when each pane reaches its respective predetermined position by displacing a portion of the pane inwardly so that at least a part of the pivot arrangement is held in a receiving element mounted on one of the guide-rails.

  • Patent number: 6065252
Abstract: A convertible roof (20) moves between extended and retracted positions for selectively covering an area, or exposing the area to ambient weather conditions. The roof (20) includes a first panel (26) having a plurality of inflatable tubes (28). One end of each tube connects to one side of the base of the roof and the other end connects to the other side of the roof's base. An air compressor (42) inflates the tubes sequentially via valves (40) and air duct anchor posts (30) or (112) for causing the first panel to move by inflation air pressure. The inflation air pressure causes the first panel to move from a position extending along one end of the base when the tubes are evacuated, to a second position above the base when the tubes inflate for covering the base. The roof will usually, but not necessarily, include a second panel (26) substantially identical to the first panel. • Patent number: 6065255
Abstract: A structure for mounting a planar array of photovoltaic panels to a roof is formed from a set of parallel spaced juxtaposed rails which are intersected by a set of parallel spaced juxtaposed runners that extend perpendicular to the rails. Both the runners and the rails are formed of sheet metal and are shaped in cross section so as to partially surround a space. Both the rails and the runners have upwardly opening apertures bordered by flanges. The flanges of the rails are coplanar with the flanges of the runners. The photovoltaic modules rest on the flanges, thereby covering the apertures and enclosing the space within the rails and the runners. This space serves as a protective raceway for the electrical interconnections and wiring. Because the entire structure is a single electrical conductor, grounding of the modules is simplified. Compared to other mounting systems, the structure is lighter in weight, simpler to install, extremely strong, and protective of the electrical interconnections.

Abstract: A mulching mower deck within which first and second mower blades rotate for cutting grass, having first and second blade chambers positioned adjacent each other and within which respective blades rotate during operation. The first and second blade chambers are generally completely enclosed for generally confining grass clippings within the blade chambers for preventing the clippings from exiting through side or top walls of the mower deck. The first and second blades travel in respective paths which overlap. The first blade is positioned to the right of the second blade with respect to forward operation of the mower deck and travels in a clockwise direction, and the second blade is positioned to the left of the first blade and travels in a counterclockwise direction. An opening is formed between the first and second blade chambers at a location where the blade paths overlap. Edges of the opening are positioned relatively close to the first and second blades near where the blade paths overlap.

  • Patent number: 6065277
Abstract: A process for producing dyed spun cotton yarns having a reduced number of irregularities and increased luster is described. The process involves dyeing at least a portion of the cotton fibers which are to form the yarn, then combing the dyed fibers subsequent to the dyeing process. The dyed and combed fibers are then optionally blended with fibers having a visually distinct appearance, and spun into a yarn using conventional spinning methods. The resulting yarns having a dramatically reduced number of thick and thin places and improved yarn properties including improved luster and hand. Furthermore, when the thus-dyed fibers are blended with differently-colored fibers prior to the combing operation, the resultant yarns match the visual colors of like-colored yarns produced by conventional processes, while the color is more intimately blended and the yarns have a markedly increased uniformity, luster and tenacity.

Abstract: A dual cycle engine which includes both a steam turbine and a gas turbine. The engine includes an air compressor and a combustion chamber connected to the air compressor for burning fuel with air from the air compressor to generate a first gaseous output which drives a gas turbine. The engine also includes a heat recovery system for recovering heat from the gaseous output of the gas turbine after the gaseous output has passed through the gas turbine. The heat recovery system includes a heat exchanger for extracting heat from the gaseous output and for heating an input water stream to generate steam. The steam is heated further in a superheater that burns fuel and air at the same pressure as the combustion chamber to generate a second gaseous output that is combined with the output of the combustion chamber prior to the output from the combustion chamber being passed through the gas turbine. The steam from the superheater is expanded in a steam turbine to generate work therefrom.
