  • Patent number: 6067743
Abstract: In order to facilitate the removal of the line entanglement, a frame is slanted and a guide ring member is formed into an oblong shape, however, if the guide ring member is oblong, a size of a guide ring member is increased, inversely, if a thickness of the guide ring member is decreased as a whole, a radius of curvature at side end portions of an inner circumferential surface of the guide ring member is decreased, the sliding resistance is increased depending upon an angle of the fishing line. Accordingly, a thickness t on the right and left of both side portions 4b extending in a straight line of the oblong guide ring member 4 is smaller than a thickness T of other portions 4a, the contact angle of the fishing line 10 to these portions 4b is kept almost unchanged, thus, there is no adverse affect against the sliding resistance even if these portions 4b are thinned.

  • Patent number: 6067747
Abstract: A plant greenhouse frost protector and growth enhancer for use with seedlings or young plants. The protector is frusto-conically shaped and made of a light transparent, semi-transparent or translucent transmitting plastic material. The protector's base has a series of ground engaging serrations with adjacent spaced slots. Prior to forming tabs, base slots normally extend upwardly towards the protector's top edge. Normally serrations hold the protector to the ground by the serrations in low wind conditions. In high wind conditions, tabs are formed by folding the base's areas between the slots outwardly and upwardly. These formed tabs form ground engaging surfaces parallel to the ground. The top edge of the protector is covered by a convex raised center top surface with slots that permit access to the interior formed cavity to water or ventilate the enclosed seedlings or plant.

  • Patent number: 6067773
Abstract: A box or carton sealer is disclosed having a frame with a conveyor for moving boxes therethrough. First and second longitudinal, laterally spaced-apart, independent gravity operated centering bars move inwardly and outwardly to center the boxes in the sealer. The centering force produced by the centering bars is proportional to the distance the box is off center in the sealer. A shiftable weight assists the respective centering bars to move laterally as required. A floating head has an inclined entry ramp for riding up over the box and lifting the floating head to a desired height as the box passes thereunder. The floating head has a sealing device for attaching the box flaps at whatever height the flaps happen to be at under the floating head.

Abstract: A package of a continuous strip of material includes a plurality of parallel side by side stacks each containing a length of the strip which is folded back and forth such that each folded portion of the stack is folded relative to the next portion about a line transverse to the strip and such that the side edges of the strip portions are aligned. The strip is continuous through each stack and is connected by a splice from the end of one stack to beginning of the next stack. The package is compressed to reduce the height of the stacks and maintained in the compressed condition by an evacuated sealed bag. The fold lines in the package are marked by a machine readable marking so that the strip portions from the package can be cut into strip elements with the cut lines being arranged at the fold lines.
