Patent number: RE36925Abstract: When an object of treatment is subjected to, for example, a gas treatment in an airtight chamber, reaction products adhere to the inner wall surface of the chamber, an object holder therein, and the corner portions of the chamber. When a cleaning medium is injected into the chamber, according to the present invention, the reaction products are dissolved in the cleaning medium by hydrolysis. Thereafter, the cleaning medium is discharged from the chamber. Then, the chamber is heated and evacuated, so that water vapor is discharged to provide a predetermined degree of vacuum, whereupon the treatment can be started anew. Therefore, a wiping operation can be omitted. Moreover, the reaction products remaining at the corner portions of the chamber can be removed without forming a source of polluted particles, so that the necessity of overhauling can be obviated. Thus, fully automatic cleaning, so to speak, can be effected, and the chamber need not be open to the atmosphere, so that the throughput can be improved.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Tokyo Electron Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takayuki Ohba, Toshiya Suzuki, Seishi Murakami

Patent number: RE36926Abstract: A welding system includes an imaging system that takes frame by frame pictures of a weld puddle. The imaging system is located in the weld torch. From the images puddle length and width are determined. The length and width are applied against stored membership functions that cover a range of different weld current characteristics and the degree of membership of each dimension in those functions is determined, producing an alpha factor for each membership function. This provides a fuzzy current requirement. Stored values for moment and area for each membership function are multiplied by the alpha for the respective function. The total of the moments is divided by the total of the areas to produce a desired weld current. The weld head includes a weld wire feeder that is driven by a servo by which the wire can be feed along either side of the weld joint. The wire feeder is gear driven in such a way that it does not interfere with the optics in the weld torch. The optics include a strobe to illuminate the puddle.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignees: United Technologies Corporation, MTS CorporationInventors: Mary A. Patent number: RE36932Abstract: A semiconductor memory device of the present invention includes an internal power supply voltage generating circuit down converting external power supply voltage to generate first and second internal power supply voltages, a Vpp generating circuit generating a high voltage from external power supply voltage by charge pumping operation, and a Vbb generating circuit generating negative voltage from external power supply voltage by charge pumping operation. The first internal supply voltage is applied to a control circuit and a sense amplifier drive signal generating circuit. The second internal power supply voltage is applied to a circuit generating a bit line equalize/precharge signal. Even if the first internal power supply voltage is made small, the Vpp generating circuit and the Vbb generating circuit generate a prescribed voltage from external power supply voltage. Therefore, these circuits generate a prescribed internal high voltage and negative voltage efficiently and stably.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kiyohiro Furutani

Patent number: RE36933Abstract: A pickup reads data recorded on a disk and outputs a current signal corresponding to the read data. An amplifier outputs the current signal as a voltage signal. A data slice circuit binarizes the voltage signal and converts it into an EFM signal. In response to the EFM signal, a PLL circuit generates a PLL clock signal in synchronization with a reproduction speed. When a reference speed or its two-times higher speed is selected as the reproduction speed, if the PLL clock signal is synchronized with the EFM signal, the frequency of the PLL clock signal is proportionate to the reproduction speed. In response to the PLL clock signal, the data slice circuit controls the frequency band of a reference voltage in accordance with the reproduction speed, and outputs the EFM signal. A data processing circuit demodulates the EFM signal and removes a jitter from the demodulated signal in response to the PLL clock signal.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Hiroshi Shimada

Patent number: RE36934Abstract: A control device for a hands-free telephone set automatically controls microphone and amplifier gains so that a feedback loop has less than unity gain to avoid circuit instability and resultant self-oscillation. An emission channel includes a microphone, a signal compressor and a controllable attenuator. A reception channel includes a signal compressor, an adjustable attenuator and a loudspeaker. The combination of the emission and reception channels form an amplification loop whereby the output of the reception channel is acoustically coupled to the input of the emission channel while the output of the emission channel is coupled to the input of the reception channel through a common telephone line. To avoid circuit oscillation, a circuit initially sets the gain of the loop to a predetermined value slightly less than unity (0 db) and subsequently maintains the loop gain constant by maintaining the sum of the compressor and attenuator gains at a fixed value.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1993Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: SGS-Thomson Microelectronics S.A.Inventor: Thierry Arnaud

Patent number: 6138290Abstract: A movable fitting member for use with a drain fitting for controlling the discharging of fluid, comprises a drain fitting, a cylindrical guide post with an inserting plate, a lower bearing portion, and a fitting member. If the guide post is in a position that the inserting plate thereof is aligned with a deeper groove within fitting member, it will insert into the bore at its full length, so that the fitting member tightly covers the drain and thus, fluid is sealed and does not discharge out. However, if the guide post is aligned with a shallow groove formed by the second and fourth slots and the cylindrical bore, it will insert into the fitting member by only a part of its full length, so that the fitting member does not completely cover the drain fitting and thus a gap is formed therebetween. Therefore, water discharges therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Inventor: Michael C. H. Lin

Patent number: 6138293Abstract: A fitting, in the form of a mounting collar for installation of a water input nozzle, such as a cleaning head in the floor and walls of a swimming pool, is designed to permit the fitting to be rocked from side to side a limited amount relative to the central axis of a water supply pipe in which the fitting is inserted during initial installation. This is done to allow for installation discrepancies where the water supply pipe is not perpendicular to the surface of the pool where the pipe opens into the pool. By allowing this amount of movement in the installation of the mounting collar, the orientation of a pop-up cleaning head, for example, with respect to the pool floor or wall, is ensured to be perpendicular; so that optimum cleaning of the pool surface during subsequent use of the system occurs.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Caretaker Systems, Inc.Inventor: Lester Mathews

Patent number: 6138294Abstract: Apparatus for pumping and filtering water from a swimming pool that includes a caisson that is divided into three compartments. A filtering unit is contained in one compartment (A) and contains pool water to be filtered. An adjacent compartment (B) contains a pump having a inlet connected to the filtering unit. Compartment (B) communicates with a third compartment (C). A cover encloses the three compartments and has perforations that permit cooling air to enter compartment (C) and thus pass into compartment (B) to cool the pump. Water passing into compartment (C) is passed to a sanitary drain.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Piscines Desjoyaux S.A.Inventors: Jean Louis Desjoyaux, Pierre Louis Desjoyaux, Catherine Jandros
