  • Patent number: 6161234
Abstract: The invention concerns a lying surface with upper cushioning body and at least two upper and lower lamellar grid, arranged parallel to each other, which are placed on elastic body in each case extending in the longitudinal direction, wherein the lower lamellar grid rests on a further lower cushioning body, which cushioning body in turn rests either on a supporting plate or merely on two spaced-apart supporting members which are fastened to the longitudinal sides of a bed frame. It may be provided that the cushioning body are covered by additional insulation fleece sheets, and certain layers of the lying surface are accommodated in fabric flap and the entire lying surface is accommodated in a covering. The entire lying surface can be rotated through 180 so that it is possible to sleep also on the lower cushioning body, wherein the two cushioning body may have a different strength. The lamellar grid may have a different spacing between their respective lamella.

  • Patent number: 6161236
Abstract: A height adjustable bed on a floor provides a two stage continuous adjustment system and method of operation thereof. An upper frame is raised from a lowermost position to a maximum intermediate position with a first set of legs resting on the floor. The upper frame is further raised from the maximum intermediate position to an uppermost position with a second set of legs resting on the floor. The transition from the first set of legs to the second set of legs and vice-versa is smooth and continuous. The system is powered by a reversible electric motor. A much greater range of distance is achieved over previous height adjustable beds. The ratio of uppermost distance of the upper frame off the floor to the lowermost distance can be greater than 2.5. A third set of wheeled legs can be added for mobility when it is desired to move the bed.

  • Patent number: 6161241
Abstract: A mattress ventilator is formed by a disk of sheet metal drawn with an array of tubular protuberances having tubular cross-sections which are very small compared with the area of the disk, open ends of the tubular protuberances being retrovertable by a die into roses for holding the disk in a mattress border. Such a ventilator can be applied to a mattress border by pressing the tubular protuberances through the border from an outer surface and retroverting the distal ends of the protuberances to form roses crimped against an inner surface of the border. The penetrations of the material of border are limited to the size of the tubular protuberances, and the perforated areas are supported and covered by the disk and act as stress reliefs for each other.

  • Patent number: 6161243
Abstract: A toothbrush has a brush head and plastic bristles, optionally combined into bundles, fixed thereto and whereof at least some bristles have a profile on their circumferential surface. In order in the case of unchanged strength characteristics of the bristles to obtain an increased cleaning and massaging action, the bristles have a helix as the profile. The bristles can comprise a core and at least one helix running over the circumferential surface. For the manufacture of the toothbrush it is possible to extrude and then twist a profiled monofilament or a monofilament with axially parallel ribs and then fix the twist. It is also possible to co-extrude a monofilament made from one plastic with ribs made from a plastic having other characteristics running over its circumferential surface, followed by the twisting of the co-extruded composite and the fixing of the twist.

  • Patent number: 6161257
Abstract: A given plurality of empty round (cylindrical) cans are brought by a can carrier into an empty can magazine of a textile machine which produces a band output. These cans are taken from the can carrier, one after another, to be filled at a filling station from whence filled cans are sequentially moved to a just emptied can carrier in a full can magazine. This can carrier, after the receipt of a given plurality of filled cans, are transported out of the full can magazine. Subsequently, the can carrier, which, in the intervening time, has been emptied and is now to be found in the empty can magazine, is transported by means of an elevated crossover into the full can magazine, which has become free. • Patent number: 6161275
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a commutator adapted to be mounted on a shaft of an electric motor for cooperation with electrical contacts of the motor, wherein a support member is molded from an electrically insulating material, the support member having a major outer surface portion divided into subsections of lesser area by a plurality of rib members extending upwardly from the outer surface portion. A sheet of electrically conductive material with minimum waste, is cut into commutator segments of predetermined shape and dimensions preferably by a stamping process for attachment to the outer surface portions of the subsections. The commutator segments are then adhesively attached to the outer surface portions of the subsections such that the segments form commutator surfaces interrupted by the rib members, with the upper surface of each segment being slightly higher than the upper surface of each of the adjacent rib members.
