Patent number: 6269581Abstract: Disclosed is a rifle scope that utilizes laser range-finding and microprocessor technology to eliminate the need for the shooter to calculate bullet-drop compensation. The scope includes a laser range finder that calculates the distance between the user and the target that is focused in the cross-hairs. The user simply enters the muzzle velocity, i.e. the bullet speed of his particular ammunition as well as the current altitude using pushbuttons located on the scope assembly. A microprocessor automatically calculates the distance that the bullet traveling at the dialed-in speed will drop while traveling the distance calculated by the laser range finder, taking into consideration reduced drag at higher altitudes and the weight of the bullet. Based upon this calculated value, a second LCD image cross-hair is superimposed in the scope's viewfinder, indicating the proper position at which to aim the rifle in order to achieve a direct hit.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Inventor: John Groh

Patent number: 6269600Abstract: A curtain wall of a predetermined height includes prefabricated glassed panels, and a frame. The frame has only horizontal beams into which the glassed panels are placed for supporting the glassed panels without continuous vertical beams existing along the height of the curtain wall on a building with multiple floors.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Inventor: Stefanos Tambakakis

Patent number: 6269601Abstract: A lazing unit (1) comprises two sheets of glass (2,3) which are separated by a spacer bar (5). An outer secondary seal (10) extends around the periphery of the glazing unit. The seal (10) has a number of peripherally spaced-apart fixing inserts (50) extending around the periphery of the glazing unit for fixing the glazing unit support (17). Each fixing insert (50) has a base wall section (51), parallel side walls (52) and end wall sections (53) which define an arcuate slot (55) closed at both ends. The configuration of the fixing inserts (50) allows simple fitting while ensuring the maximum bulk of material for structural strength. Opposed fixing inserts (50) are engaged, on assembly, by a toggle (60).Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2000Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: Simon Joseph KennyInventors: Simon Joseph Kenny, Daniel Patrick O'Gorman

Patent number: 6269602Abstract: A fixed construction (10) comprises rigid piles (12) and a monolithic concrete floor slab resting (14) on the piles. The floor slab comprises straight zones connecting in two directions, ie. lengthwise and broadwise, the shortest distance between the areas of the floor slab above the piles. The floor slab (14) is reinforced by a combination of: (a) fibres (22) distributed over the volume of the floor slab (14); and (b) steel bars (16, 16′) located in those straight zones. This construction reduces considerably the amount of reinforcement steel, increases the bearing capacity and enables to reduce the time for making such a construction.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: N.V. Patent number: 6269603Abstract: An exterior sheathing element includes a first edge portion having a channel, and includes a second edge portion opposite the first edge portion and including a channel. At least a part of the second edge portion has a mounting tab projecting clear of the second edge portion in a substantially co-planar relationship with respect to the main body of the sheathing element.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2000Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: Metro Shingles (Intl) LimitedInventor: James Cameron Ross

Patent number: 6269604Abstract: A roof cladding panel is profiled in its longitudinal direction and stepped in its transverse direction and comprises two straight side edges (4, 5) which are connectable to adjacent panels, a lower edge (2) which is generally wave-shaped and connectable to an adjacent panel, and an upper edge (3) which preferably is straight and connectable to an adjacent panel. Two diagonally opposite corners (8, 9) of the panel are obliquely cut, and an upper cut corner of one panel is adapted to be matchingly assembled with a lower cut corner of another panel in a four-corner joint including also non-cut corners of a third and a fourth roof cladding panel.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2000Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: Lindab A/SInventor: Torben Pedersen

Patent number: 6269605Abstract: The invention relates to a stone structure assembly, comprising a plurality of stones, especially concrete blocks, having similar height, upper and lower sides extending on parallel planes and vertical side walls. In order to place the thirteen stone blocks pertaining to said assembly in such a way that they cannot be displaced and that similarly narrow spacing gaps are formed in-between said stones, two stones are shaped as a prism with the same surface area and eleven stones are shaped as a trapezium with differing surface areas. The stones in the stone structure assembly are configured as a single piece with a bottom section and a top section set back from the peripheral surface of the base section at least in certain areas.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Inventor: Peter Geiger
