Abstract: A user configurable circuit contains clock logic, a switching element and a data path circuit. Input data is received in the switching element, and the switching element and the data path circuit constitute the entire data path for the circuit. A plurality of user configurable inputs are received to configure the circuit for a particular user application. The clock logic and the switching element implement a logic function that is configurable by the user configurable inputs. The logic function is pre-processed in the clock logic so that minimal delay occurs in the data path. In addition, the propagation delay through the switching element and the register is independent of the user configurable inputs. The user configurable circuit of the present invention has application for use as a macro cell for a programmable logic device permitting the user to configure the circuit as a D-type flip-flop, a T-type flip-flop. In addition, the user selects the polarity for the output circuit.

Abstract: An image projector is provided with a light valve having an upstream side and an downstream side. A light source is disposed on the upstream side of the light valve, and a front lens system with an entrance pupil is disposed on the downstream side of the light valve. A back optical system is disposed between the light source and the light valve. The back optical system has a nonimaging device with an exit aperture that is either imaged into the entrance pupil of the front lens system (Kohler) or imaged onto the light valve (Abbe).

Abstract: An image display apparatus which enables observation of a clear image at a wide field angle with substantially no reduction in the brightness of the observation image, and which is extremely small in size and fight in weight and hence unlikely to cause the observer to be fatigued. The image display apparatus includes an image display device and an ocular optical system for projecting an image formed by the image display device and for leading the projected image to an observer's eyeball. The ocular optical system (3) has three surfaces, and a space formed by the three surfaces is filled with a medium having a refractive index larger than 1.

Abstract: An electrostatic chuck is disclosed that is resistant to the formation of vacuum arcs between the back of the wafer being processed and the body of the chuck. A guard ring surrounds the chuck and floats close to the self-bias potential induced by the plasma on the wafer. The voltage between the wafer and the closest electrode is thereby capacitively divided by the guard ring.

Abstract: The present invention relates to bituminous compositions used for roofing and waterproofing membranes or material comprising asymmetrical linear polyvinyl aromatic-polydiene block copolymers having improved physical properties over broader ranges of service temperatures than those obtained from bituminous compositions prepared with symmetrical block copolymers of similar type. The asymmetry of the copolymer which is characterised by polyvinyl aromatic endblocks of at least two different molecular weights, one high and one low, ensures improved physical performance to roofing and waterproofing membranes made from such compositions.

Abstract: A poncho and cushion combination is provided for use as protective weather garment while sitting. The poncho is formed from a substantially rectangular sheet with a hood at an opening in the sheet. An extension sheet attaches the cushion to the inside surface of the rear panel of the poncho. In this way, the cushion is protected by the poncho. The cushion is disposed so that it rests slightly below the spectator's buttocks when standing while wearing the poncho. The cushion is then readily available for the spectator to sit down on. The poncho can be folded and rolled onto the extension sheet. The extension sheet can be rolled around the poncho and fastened to the cushion to stow the poncho.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device permitting taking tennis balls from shorts despite the tennis shirt being out, and this without interfering with the player. It is constituted by a system of male (1,1′) and female (2,2′) snap members which, when snapped together, leave a free space (4), thanks to cutouts (3f,3f′,3d,3d′), so that the player can take balls from the pockets of his shorts (5). The device according to the invention is particularly adapted for taking out tennis balls.

Abstract: A head band apparatus is provided for protecting a wearer's eyes from perspiration from the wearer's forehead and includes a band which has a front band portion, a rear band portion, and side band portions between the front band portion and the rear band portion. The front band portion includes a front band outer side, and the side band portions includes side band outer sides. A perspiration collector lip is connected to the front band portion and extends outward from the front band outer side for defining a collection space between the perspiration collector lip and the front band portion. The perspiration collector lip includes a first open drain end laterally distanced from the wearer's eyes. A second open drain end is also provided and is also laterally distanced from the wearer's eyes.

Abstract: A method that allows a person to place a moisture absorbing towel onto her head uses a triangular towel that has its sides selvaged or that has its sides folded at least once onto the body portion and sewn thereto. The long side of the towel is positioned onto the front of the person's head and the two corners at the ends of this side are brought around to the back of the head and the corners are attached to each other. The remaining corner is brought over the top of the head and attached to the other two corners or tucked underneath the two corners.

Abstract: An earmuff for hearing protection of the ear of a wearer, including an outer cup of rigid plastic material. An inner cup of foam material is supported by the outer cup, and a cushion is attached to the outer cup for lying around the ear of the wearer. The outer cup of rigid plastic material includes a filler of metal powder such as Carbonyl iron powder.

Abstract: A disposable one-time use legging for covering, and protecting, a lower leg of a wearer from, and capturing, ticks. The legging includes a sleeve, first bands, and a second band. The uppermost terminal end of the sleeve is formed into an upper circumferential tunnel, and the lowermost terminal end of the sleeve is formed into a lower circumferential tunnel.

Abstract: The present invention teaches novel men's underwear that permit the male reproductive organs to be substantially suspended naturally. This is believed to lower the temperatures to which the testes are subjected thereby increasing the rate and quality of spermatogenesis, and to facilitate greater heat dissipation. Further, this characteristic is believed to facilitate optimal thermoregulation. In addition, it is believed to positively influence the operation of sex hormones and anabolic metabolism regarding the process of adaptation and the acquisition of athletic fitness. Further, the present invention teaches novel underwear for men and women which permit relatively unrestricted flexion and extension of the legs, and distention of the abdomen during breathing, and an area of differential elastic and stitching for reducing chafing and enhancing comfort.

Abstract: The child's light weight portable toilet seat is designed to be used on top of a standard, commercial adult toilet seat and to provide a safe, stable, ergonomic seating area. The seat is slim, small and light enough to be carried by a child of toilet-training age. It has also been test fitted and may be used on many types of adult toilet seats, including those used in airplanes and boats, for true portability. The seat is molded from a single piece of plastic and has a formed bottom surface which is free of ribs and edges that could catch dirt. The lack of hinges or folds in the seat precludes pinching of the child's skin and reduces potential structural weakness. The absence of cleats or clips makes installation easy for either child or adult. The lack of ribs and edges on the bottom makes the seat more sanitary than existing seats. The seat fits over the front portion of the adult seat rather than being centered over the bowl and, thus, is a more ergonomic seating position for a child.

Abstract: A modular vacuum toilet, and a method of servicing such a toilet, are disclosed. The toilet is used with a vacuum toilet system having a sewer line placeable under partial vacuum pressure and a source of rinse fluid. The modular vacuum toilet comprises a frame and a removable bowl engaging and supported be the frame, the bowl defining an outlet and having a rinse fluid dispenser associated therewith. The modular vacuum toilet also has a valve set module. The valve set module includes a discharge valve having an inlet in fluid communication with the bowl outlet, an outlet in fluid communication with the sewer line, and a movable discharge valve member disposed between the discharge valve inlet and outlet. A rinse fluid valve is also incorporated into the valve set module and has an inlet in fluid communication with the source of rinse fluid, an outlet in fluid communication with the rinse fluid dispenser, and a movable rinse fluid valve member disposed between the rinse fluid valve inlet and outlet.

Abstract: A flexible, absorbent, fabric mat or cover is removably affixed to a bathtub over the side or lip thereof. The fabric is advantageously terry cloth. Particularly where a bather's hand is wet or soapy, the coefficient of friction of the bathtub lip is substantially improved relative to an uncovered porcelain or enamel coated bathtub. Safety is improved even if the terry cloth inadvertently becomes saturated with water, and the device is readily removable for washing and readily washable.

Abstract: A wash basin, as for a domestic bathroom, has normal inlet water faucet(s) and spigot(s) fitted at or above its top and a normal outlet or drain pipe at its bottom. The basin also has a peripheral inlet flow channel formed below its top rim, for creating a smoothly-flowing film of water cascading down the interior sides of the basin to the outlet. This flowing water film intercepts detritus such as shaving cream, toothpaste, and soap, preventing it from sticking to and soiling the interior of the basin. The basin preferably also has a peripheral overflow channel formed in its side wall adjacent but spaced from the peripheral inlet channel and communicating to the drain below any drain plug or stopper that may be used. The inlet flow channel preferably has a separate water supply and control so that it may be used either separately from or in addition to the regular water supply and so that it may alternatively be left off even while the regular water faucet(s) and spigot(s) are in use.

An inelastic side skirt extends transversely to the top portion from the outer periphery of the top portion around the entire outer periphery of the top portion. An inelastic panel extends away from a periphery of the side skirt remote from the top portion and entirely around the side skirt periphery. The inelastic panel is separate and different from the side skirt and is attached to the periphery of the side skirt remote from the top portion. A first elastic cord is secured with the inelastic panel at a periphery of the panel remote from the side skirt.

Abstract: A castor locking apparatus for a castor assembly rotatably mounted to the frame member of a fluidized bed by a support that includes a notched portion. The locking apparatus includes a housing coupled to the castor with the housing including an interior region with a top opening located adjacent to the notched portion of the frame and first and second notched portions spaced apart from the top opening. Each of the first and second notched portions of the housing are spaced from the opening a distance corresponding to each notched portion, with the second notched portion being closer to the housing opening than the first notched portion. A spring loaded locking pin is located within the housing and is biased upwardly by the spring such that the pin engages the notched portion of the frame to prevent rotation of the castor assembly relative to the frame.

Abstract: An apparatus adjusts the pressures of a therapeutic mattress surface in accordance with the angular position of that surface. The apparatus comprises an angular position sensor and a rotation sensor which are housed together in an enclosure having a top surface in the form of a circular plate. The circular plate mounts either on the surface of the mattress or on the bottom of a bed frame supporting the mattress. The angular position and rotation sensors measure the horizontal plane referenced perpendicular to the direction of the force of gravity. The apparatus further comprises a controller blower valve assembly which processes data received from the angular position and rotation sensors to maintain, increase, or decrease the pressures within the mattress.

Abstract: A U-shaped, ultrasonic toothbrush module to be used with currently available ultrasonic toothbrush hand pieces made of soft thermoplastic, silicone, or latex material with upper and lower bridge receiving spaces formed on opposite sides. The receiving spaces are designed to receive a user's upper and lower bridges when placed into the user's mouth. Disposed on the three inside surfaces of each receiving space are a plurality of bristles which completely contact the exposed surfaces of every tooth when the device is used. The module includes a housing with a pivoting T-shaped member and magnets attached at one end that connects to a standard ultrasonic toothbrush hand piece. Motion generated by the hand piece is transmitted through the T-shaped member and to the U-shaped member. The movement of the U-shaped member generates ultrasonic waves that are transmitted to the surfaces of the teeth and move the brushes when teeth are placed into the upper and lower bridge receiving spaces.

An idler gear meshes with and is driven by the input gear. An intermediate shaft has a first intermediate gear integral therewith. Relative pivoting between the clip and the wiper blade is restricted by contact between the flange and the lower surface of the upper wall of the wiper blade.

A cyclonic airflow dirt and dust separating chamber (54) is defined in said upright housing section. A suction source (E) pulls air and entrained dirt, dust, and other contaminants through a main suction opening (26) formed in the underside (24) of the nozzle and into the cyclonic airflow chamber (54). The cyclonic airflow chamber causes the suction airstream to travel in a cyclonic path such that the entrained contaminants are separated therefrom and deposited into a dirt container (52) that defines the chamber (54). A main filter element (K) filters residual contaminants from the suction airstream between the chamber and the suction source. The main filter element is preferably made from high-density polyethylene porous filter media.

Abstract: The present invention is about a guiding sheath with spacer for the hinge of eye-glasses, such that the sheath provides low frictional spacer to titanium alloy hinges. Sheath with spacer made from bronze or synthetic rubber with frictional coefficient less than that of titanium alloy can effectively lower the wear and tear at the hinge due to friction, enhance the smooth folding of the hinge, and thus extend the durability of the hinge. In addition to providing spacer, the present invention also provides positioning latch to the active core of the hinge and lateral support to the shaft during displacement, effectively enhances the stability of the shaft during displacement.

Abstract: A hinge is attached to a cabinet wall of a frameless cabinet by an elongated support plate. The cabinet wall has an opening, an elongated recess extending inwardly from the opening and an elongated slot extending along the elongated recess and in communication therewith. A fastener member is inserted into the opening and slid along the recess. A threaded bolt on the support plate is secured to the fastener member and tightened to secure the support plate at a desired location on the cabinet wall.

Abstract: A door hinge which stops the swing-open motion of a door before it can strike an adjacent wall located at ninety degrees to the closed door. By stopping the motion of the door at ninety degrees, the protruding hardware of the door will not penetrate or otherwise damage the adjacent wall. Frequent repairs are therefore avoided. The door hinge is adaptable to various residential and commercial applications.

Abstract: A single-button support mechanism is provided to improve a turning means joining an upper portion and a body of a device. The support mechanism constructs a pivot and a holding groove at the upper portion and, at the body, a cam trough, a button groove, and another groove for accommodating a retaining member to further hold a first spring. The cam is formed as saw type teeth at a peripheral thereof, and each tooth of the cam has a notch engageable with a position button. By applying the single-button support mechanism, the turning means can utilize the cam moving in the cam trough for engaging with the upper portion at a selected angle, and utilize the position button movable in the button groove for controlling the opening or closing of the upper portion.

Abstract: An articulating strut capable of assuming an extended in-line and a folded configuration with rigid cylindrical tubing having proximate ends configured to fixably receive an offset hinged insert that provides for folding and unfolding of said strut. When fully unfolded the strut acts as a single rigid structural support member held in the locked position by a bi-directional slidable locking sleeve. The hinged insert has full faced load bearing surfaces which together with offset hinge pins tends to direct the strut members under compression to assume an over-center locked position. Such struts have particular application as bimini or dodger marine coverings that fold or become taut without tensioning straps or supporting tension in the covering material itself.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of hinges, and specifically, to seat hinges of the type used for foldable boat seats. A hinge including two seat cushion supporting members and a back plate is taught. One supporting member has a peripheral recess facing outwardly relative to a pivot pin and forms a generally u-shaped area. Laterally spaced-apart abutment surfaces extend angularly from the u-shaped area. The other supporting member is provided with an upstanding protuberance which cooperates with the abutments to limit the hinge between its fully closed and fully opened positions.

Abstract: Touchless door pull apparatus comprising an engagement slot on a door, and a cooperating hand tool. The slot and hand tool are cooperatively configured such that the hand tool can be engaged with an engagement surface associated with the slot, temporarily coupling the hand tool and the door to each other. The hand tool is then pulled away from the door, thus to open the door without touching the door. The slot can be part of a door accessory mounted on the door, or can be fabricated into the door structure. As an accessory, the door pull apparatus comprises a pull base for mounting on the door. The pull base and hand tool have first and second engagement elements, cooperatively configured such that the first and second engagement elements can be engaged, thus to temporarily couple the hand tool and the pull base to each other.

Abstract: A carding machine includes a main carding cylinder and a traveling flats assembly including flat bars circulating in a path and cooperating with the main carding cylinder. The carding machine further includes an apparatus for cleaning the flat bars. The apparatus includes a stationary track extending adjacent and transversely to the travel path of the flat bars; a carriage mounted on the track for back-and-forth travel thereon between opposite track ends; a blow nozzle mounted on the carriage and oriented at an oblique angle to the flat bar clothing of a flat bar situated in an effective range of the blow nozzle; and an arrangement for supplying pressurized air to the blow nozzle for causing it to eject an air jet for impinging on the flat bar clothing and for propelling the carriage along the track.

Abstract: An arrangement for a rotatable circular comb for processing fibers supplied in the form of a fiber band has arrangement sections fastened on a circular cylindrical mantle surface that is rotatable about an axis of rotation in a direction of rotation. The arrangement sections are arranged behind one another in a circumferential direction of the circular cylindrical mantle surface such that the arrangement sections successively engage the fiber band in an engagement sequence when the arrangement is rotated in the direction of rotation. A first one of the arrangement sections that engages the fiber band first in the engagement sequence upon rotation of the arrangement is an engagement section and the arrangement sections arranged successively behind the engagement section are follower sections. The engagement section has a lesser combing effect than at least one of the follower sections. At least one of the follower sections has a greater length in the circumferential direction than the engagement section.
