Patent number: RE37611Abstract: A memory system including means for verifying the contents of a memory cell contained in a memory array to determine if a shift in the threshold voltage level has occurred. The memory system is placed into a test mode of operation in which an internal program or erase verify operation is executed under the control of the system's internal state machine. Once in the mode, the memory system steps through each memory cell, address by address, and reads the contents of the cell using the appropriate reference voltage for a programming or erase operation. A status register bit is set indicating successful completion of the verification operation for a block of memory cells. A register bit is also set if a cell fails the verification operation. This provides a more accurate determination of the state of a memory cell than can be achieved by performing an external read operation using read operation or data verification reference voltage levels.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1999Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventor: Frankie F. Patent number: RE37613Abstract: An automatic addressing technique for flexibility specifying the individual physical addresses of a plurality of devices coupled to an information bus. An anchor pattern is applied to an address bus of a plurality of address taps sufficient to uniquely specify the numbered J of devices to be attached thereto. Each device is connected to a tap on the address bus, each tap having the same number of bits. A plurality of address transform elements are serially connected to the bus, each transform element being located between adjacent tap positions. Each transform element converts the address pattern coupled to its input to another pattern capable of uniquely specifying the next address in the desired sequence. A wide variety of address sequences are available for selection, with each particular address sequence automatically determined by the related specific anchor pattern.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1999Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: Compaq Cupertino CorporationInventor: Thomas Warren Savage

Patent number: 6360408Abstract: An improved hook latch mechanism, for use with cordage loops, used for leashes, cables, ropes, rigging or like restraining devices having a center body hook with a sliding outer sleeve to cover and uncover the hook opening. A spring loaded ball locking device is employed to lock the sliding sleeve in position to cover the hook opening to thus prevent the cordage loops from slipping off the hook, depressing the ball inwardly against a spring and sliding the sleeve upwardly to uncover the hook opening, permitting the removal of the cordage loop. A swiveling bail link at the other end of hook prevents twisting of the cordage loop.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2000Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Inventors: Penelope Rae Dykstra, Molly Jo Moses

Patent number: 6360410Abstract: A strap buckle comprises a male element and a female element which can be snap-fitted together and each of which has means for the connection of a respective portion of strap. The connection means include a device for adjusting the tension of the respective portion of strap, the device comprising two crosspieces which extend between two cheeks of the respective buckle element and define two slots which can be engaged by the strap, for which they define a tortuous path. The adjustment device includes a catch which is articulated to the cheeks about an axis parallel to the crosspieces and which can adopt a clamping position in which it interferes with the strap, preventing the strap from sliding in the slots, or a release position in which it is spaced from the strap.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2000Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: National Molding Corp.Inventor: Attilio Lovato

Patent number: 6360411Abstract: A tamper evident buckle including a first part adapted to be attached to one end of an elongate strap, a second part adapted to be attached to the other end of the strap, the first and second parts including respective engagement means for releasably engaging the two parts together, an enclosure movable between a first position wherein the first and second parts are freely engageable and disengageable and a second position wherein the enclosure substantially encloses the engaged together first and second parts, and a seal including a main body, comprised of at least one component, and at least one deflectable member, wherein the seal is adapted to engage the enclosure in the second operative position and to prevent movement from the second operative position to the first operative position unless said seal is broken. The buckle may be used to secure the contents of a container, such as a cash box, against unauthorized tampering.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2000Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: Harcor Security Seals Pty LimitedInventor: Gary Bortz

Patent number: 6360412Abstract: A needled fiber structure is made by stacking fiber plies on a platen, by needling the plies as the stack of plies is built up by means of needles driven with reciprocating motion in a direction that extends transversely relative to the plies, and by varying the distance between the platen and an end-of-stroke position of the needles while building up the stack so as to obtain a desired distribution of needling characteristics through the thickness of the fiber structure. The instantaneous force exerted during needle penetration is measured (sensors) and a magnitude representative of needling force or penetration energy is evaluated on the basis of the instantaneous force, and the evaluated magnitude is verified for compliance with at least one predetermined condition to monitor proper operation of the process or to act on the way the distance between the platen and the end-of-stroke position of the needles is varied.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2001Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: Messier-BugattiInventors: Renaud Duval, Thierry Marjollet, Robert Jean

Patent number: 6360413Abstract: In one embodiment a hand operated machine for making curly ribbon products comprises a rotary drum that includes a station to attach the uncurled ribbons (more than one), a cutting station to cut the curled ribbons, and a stapling station to staple the ribbons together or to a card, ribbon, or the like. A handle is provided to rotate the drum and a fixed curling mechanism mounted downstream of the drum serves to curl the ribbon as the drum rotates to place the ribbon in contact with the curling mechanism. In another embodiment the machine is automated and includes a drum that has the same stations. The attaching station includes a pair of jaws that are sequentially movable one relative to the other and together to attain attaching the ribbons to the drum for the first cycle, detaching the ribbon during the first cycle and attaching the succeeding ribbon used in the next cycle for mass producing the curly ribbon product.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2000Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: Group One (UK) LimitedInventors: Ira L. Patent number: 6360414Abstract: An apparatus for deflashing plastic blow molded articles is disclosed. The apparatus includes feed screw which engage one side of the container to move the container. A nesting wheel and a trim wheel are rotated in opposite directions to bring trim tools and nest tools together. The screw moves the container so that the nest tool engages the container and carries the container so that it is between the nest tool and trim tool as they intermesh. As a result, the container is nested, trimmed and released in one continuous motion.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2000Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignee: Uniloy Milacron Inc.Inventors: A. Patent number: 6360416Abstract: Traversing yarn guiding rods in textile machines producing X-packages are often made of carbon fibers for the purpose of reducing the inertia force. These kinds of traversing yarn guiding rods are prone to wear at their bearing points. For this reason, the bearings, having a distance to one another which corresponds to at least twice, preferably three times the traversing stroke, are collectively replaced from time to time, in such a way that the yarn guide rod is supported at different places than before. The replacement bearings are applied staggered to the old bearing points in such a way that the new bearing points now have a distance to the exposed previous bearing points, which distance corresponds to at least one traverse stroke. This results in the replacement bearings acting with a non-worn part of the fiber guiding rod. The life of the yarn guiding rod is thus significantly increased.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1999Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignees: Fritz Stahlecker, Hans StahleckerInventor: Fritz Stahlecker
