Abstract: Apparatus for the sharpening and/or bevelling of either a ski or snowboard side edge or base edge includes a guide for clamping a file therein and adapted to be held by a hand of a person using the guide and moved lengthwise along an edge portion of a ski or snowboard while in contact with a surface thereof. A variable angle adjustment mechanism establishes an almost unlimited number of selected angular orientations of the guide and the file in a plane transverse to the lengthwise direction when positioned at the side or base edge portion of the ski or snowboard while in contact with the surface thereof. The variable angle adjustment mechanism is integrated with a file clamping mechanism in the guide.

A conveyor system moves the block in a conveying direction, wherealong the block is initially subdivided into large thin slabs. The slabs, transported in the conveying direction of the sawing line, are then subdivided from above on a closed table top by circular saws equipped with very thin circular saw blades. The cutting loss during sawing is thereby minimized and the yield of portions optimized. Abstract: RF beam sources, also referred to as HPM sources, serve in the non-lethal destruction, interference or screening of targets. In an autonomous RF beam source (2) operated with an explosive material (10), a fuze (11) of a magnetic flux compressor (4) is ignited by a battery (3), with time or impact control. Consequently, the highly-explosive material (10) located in the liner ruptures the coil body in a conventional manner, and the individual windings (6.2) are short-circuited consecutively. The generated voltage is then amplified and transmitted via a high-pressure spark gap to a UWB chopper for generating pulses, which are subsequently radiated via a broadband antenna that is adapted with the cable resistance of the UWB pulse. In contrast, the invention provides constructing an explosive-triggered RF beam source (2) solely from a pulse generator or a pulse-generation device (4), whose generated pulses are radiated directly at a target.

Abstract: A system and method for passive hypoxic training provides a person with a low oxygen (hypoxic) environment. Oxygen sensors automatically monitor and control oxygen levels to maintain the altitude desired. CO2 levels are monitored and CO2 is eliminated so that the air a person breathes is substantially clean and fresh. Exposure to a high altitude environment produces physiological changes in a person's body, which becomes more efficient at absorbing and transporting oxygen. Using the present method and system, athletes obtain the benefits of sleeping at a simulated altitude in the user's own home for six to twelve hours, rather than traditional altitude therapies in which athletes spend two to three weeks at high altitude before an athletic competition to obtain similar benefits. This system allows for “live high train low” altitude training that has been shown in controlled studies to provide superior benefits to “live high train high” training.

Abstract: A stencil making and printing machine outputs a busy signal indicative that the stencil making and printing machine is a busy state, and then, gives the busy signal as an answer to the external computer system via the controller for a predetermined time after the stencil making process and for a predetermined time after a printing process, and thereby, an intervention operation from the external computer system is limited. By doing so, the present invention provides a stencil making and printing system and a stencil making and printing machine, which can improve an operability of stencil making and printing process, and has a high processing efficiency.

Abstract: The printing form, such as a printing plate or the surface of a printing cylinder, has a semiconducting surface with defined hydrophobic and hydrophilic areas corresponding to a print image to be printed with the printing form. The wetting characteristics of the printing form can be altered. To this end, the surface of the printing form is first placed into an essentially uniform chemical state with a first wetting behavior. Parts of all of the areas of the semiconductor surface are then put into a second chemical state which has a second wetting property that is different from the first.

Abstract: In the data processing apparatus which performs a predetermined process over data to be printed on a printer according to the printer, and then transfers the data, groups of various printing setting values and registration names each identifying each group are mutually correlated and registered in setting-registration files for each user who uses the apparatus. When a printing request is received from one of the users, a setting window displays registration names indicating the groups of the setting values which are registered for each user and correspond to the user so that the user can select one of groups. One of the registration names displayed on the setting window is selected by the user. The apparatus performs the predetermined process for printing to the data to be printed in accordance with the various setting values included in the group corresponding to the selected registration name.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for customizing wallpaper designs that do not include repeating patterns, typical of prior art wallpaper. The method includes displaying copies of basic designs for wallpaper to customers for review and selection of designs. Each basic design consists of contiguous panel portions, one or more of which can be selected to provide a coherent subdesign. The customer then selects a wallpaper basic design and a subdesign of the selected basic design, which consists of a contiguous portion of the basic design and not the entire displayed basic design. A digital image of the selected basic design is modified by incorporating the subdesign selection to produce a customized digital image. Finally, the customized digital image is printed onto a suitable substrate for the wallpaper.
