Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for cleaning an object, such as a reticle or electron-optical component used in performing electron-beam microlithography, using an electron beam. The cleaning can be performed in the presence or absence of a treatment gas. When performed without a treatment gas, an electron beam is directed to impinge on the object at an energy sufficient to volatilize contaminant deposits on the object. When performed with a treatment gas, the electron beam need not be directed at the object, but electrons from the beam have an energy sufficient to ionize molecules of the treatment gas. The ionized molecules volatilize the contaminant deposits for removal using a vacuum pump. For example, the beam can be directed to a scattering body that produces scattered electrons having sufficient energy to volatilize the contaminant deposits.

Abstract: A cleaning method is provided for cleaning a semiconductor wafer. In this method, after removing adhering substances from the wafer by using a chemical liquid of organic amine type, there is carried out a pure-water cleaning capable of prevention of electrostatic destruction and alkaline corrosion on the wafer. In detail, it is executed to make a processing chamber have an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and subsequently introduce steam into the chamber to dissolve CO2-gas into the steam. Next, spray the pure water to the wafer. Then, the steam in which CO2-gas is dissolved dissolves in the pure water, so that the pure wafer becomes weak acid, accomplishing the reduction of resistivity of the pure water. Additionally, alkaline substances is neutralized by carbonated water to prevent an alkaline corrosion on a wiring layer on the wafer's surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tire with a sidewall having a magnetized outer layer. The sidewall outer layer is peripherally divided into sections with radially extending ribs between each adjacent pair of sections. The ribs protrude above the sections. In the peripheral direction, the ribs are significantly narrower than the sections. The sections are magnetized in a peripheral direction, but with alternating polarity. The ribs close the circles of magnetic flux by allowing lines of magnetic flux to enter and exit the sidewall outer layer after moving through the surrounding air and the magnetized sections, respectively. The ribs focus the location of the entry and exit of the lines of magnetic flux into and out of the sidewall outer layer. This focused entry and exit is achieved by the accumulation of magnetized material in the ribs which causes the lines of magnetic flux moving through the ribs to point in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the tire sidewall.

Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire includes a bead portion having a plurality of bead cores, and one or plural radial carcass plies wound up from a tire inner side toward an outer side at the respective bead cores. One-half or more of the number of end portion(s) of the radial carcass ply (plies) wound up on the bead cores is/are positioned at each bead core within a range of 35 to 55% of a tire section height as measured from the reference line of the tire section height. In accordance with this structure, rigidity from the bead portion to a side portion of the tire markedly improves. Accordingly, even when the tire is large and a load applied thereto is increased, deformation of the bead portion in the loaded state is suppressed, a strain level of the bead portion is reduced, and excellent durability of the bead portion is ensured.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a press fabric for a paper machine includes the attachment of a strip of top laminate layer material to a base fabric using a heat-activated adhesive film. The top laminate layer material may be a woven fabric, a nonwoven mesh, or a thermoplastic sheet material, and, in any case, has the heat-activated adhesive film bonded to one of its two sides. The strip of top laminate layer material and heat-activated adhesive film together form a multi-component strip, which is spiralled onto the outer surface of the base fabric, with the side of the strip of top laminate layer material having the heat-activated adhesive film against the outer surface, in a closed helix, and bonded thereto with heat and pressure. The portions of the multi-component strip overhanging the lateral edges of the base fabric are then trimmed, and a staple fiber batt is needled into and through the top laminate layer formed by the multi-component strip to firmly attach it to the base fabric.

Abstract: A method for producing preforms from fiber composite semi-finished products and polymer provides for use of the preforms as components after the curing process. Initially, on a working surface, a bonded fabric is formed by alternately placing layers of cut dry fiber composite semi-finished product sections and polymer layers with predetermined shapes on top of each other. A specified preform is formed from the bonded fabric by forming appropriate parts of this fabric and subsequently curing the parts. The polymer layers exhibit a shape that ensures bonding of cut semi-finished product sections in their overlapping areas. The polymer layers contain local recesses in order to minimize shearing stress between the semi-finished product layers in areas of the local recesses when forming the individual profile parts of the bonded fabric. A preform produced pursuant to this method results.
