Abstract: A connector to attach cable or line to an article of gear whereby the cable or line is protected from fatigue through the use of a strain relief system and incorporates the ability to easily connect or disconnect the gear from the cable. The cable/line is permanently attached to the cable connection device with a knot or cable crimp. A strain relief for the cable/line is provided by a spring wrapped around the cable/line to prevent bending at the connection point, a heavy material coating around the cable/line again to prevent bending at the connection point, or a pivoting ball connection to allow the cable/line to move without bending the cable/line at the joint. A disconnect method is provided by a clipping system that allows the cable connection device to be connected or disconnected from the gear.

Abstract: An electric motor having an armature which includes a coating of thermally conductive plastic applied in a conventional injection molding process. The armature also includes a fan which is integrally formed from the thermally conductive plastic applied to the armature. The process of molding thermally conductive plastic around the armature and integrally forming a fan at one end of the armature completely eliminates the need to apply one or more coatings of a trickle resin to the armature. It also eliminates the need to separately form a fan and to secure the separately formed fan by a suitable adhesive to the armature, which together significantly simplify and reduce the manufacturing cost of the armature. The thermally conductive molded plastic coating also better fills the spaces between the magnet wires around the armature, thus promoting even more efficient cooling of the armature during use and better holding of the magnet wires stationary relative to one another.

Abstract: A method of repairing gas turbine engine components is provided. The method includes removing the damaged portion and fabricating an insert to match the removed portion. The insert is precision machined and crystallographically matched to the original component, and then bonded to this component using transient liquid phase bonding techniques and suitable heat treatment.

Abstract: Improved plastic heat exchanger production systems are described. The production systems are arranged to extrude plastic tubing, cut the tubing into segments of desired length and convey the tubing to a plurality of aligned tube inserters. Clip strips are feed through the tube inserters which sequentially automatically insert tube segments into the clip strips. The clip strips are then cut at desired lengths to provide tubing panels of a desired size or sizes. In a preferred system, header pipes are attached to the respective ends of the cut tubing panels to provide completed heat exchanger panels. When desired, heat exchangers having laterally offset tubes may be created by cutting one or more middle clip strips into spacer segments and rotating the spacer segments to laterally offset at least some of the tubes. In another aspect of the invention, improved tube inserters suitable for inserting plastic tubing into a plastic clip strip are described.

Abstract: A handheld and bench top hose and tubing cutter for cutting hose and tubing of various sizes is disclosed. The hose cutter comprises a upper arm member and lower arm member with each arm member having its own handle, finger guard and colored differently. An intermediate pivot point is located close to one end of each of the two arm members to join the two arm members. The upper arm member further comprises a replaceable cutting blade located close to the pivot point. The lower arm member further comprises a nested cradle facing the cutting blade. The nested cradle has a suitably contoured supporting surface for the positioning of a hose or tube of various sizes to be engaged and cut through by the cutting blade. The upper and lower arm member also respectively includes opposing stopping surfaces such that, upon contacting each other, they would act as a positive stop for the cutting process with the position of the cutting blade clearing the nested cradle.

Abstract: A floating bench saw guide for guiding a portable circular saw along a workpiece while sawing the workpiece, has a cradle for retaining a portable circular saw, a saw plane across the cradle, and a guide lip movably affixed to the cradle. A pair of gage blocks are affixed to the cradle along the saw plane. The gage blocks are advantageous for allowing the use of a straight edge for easily positioning the blade of a circular saw along the saw plane. In another feature of the invention, a pair of spaced-apart parallel rails are affixed to the cradle. The guide lip is movably affixed to the rails and is reversible relative to the saw plane. The guide lip overhangs its mountings to the rails such that it is positional relative to the saw plane over a distance which is longer than the length of the rails.

Abstract: An improved archery target sight, in which much of the unneeded weight present in support arms is removed. This sight utilizes a pair of lightweight rods, that are positioned lengthwise vertically to each other, and where the rods are gripped between a mounting block and clamp, with the rods placed in recessed grooves defined in the block and clamp. The rods extend outward from the bow to hold and position vertical adjustment sighting apparatus. A stop block may be attached along the length of the rods, where the stop block is adjacent to the mounting block and provides a means to set the placement of the rods in reference to the mounting block, by consistently placing the stop block immediately adjacent to the mounting block, so as to allow disassembly of the rods from the mounting block, and reattachment at a later time with an identical configuration achieved by repositioning the stop block against the mounting block.
