Abstract: A dual layer shielded electrical cable is disclosed. The cable has at least a pair of insulated conductors, a metallic shield and a jacket surrounding the shield and insulated conductors. A first jacket layer made of flame retardant material surrounds the insulated conductors. A metallic shield then surrounds the first jacket layer. A second jacket layer then surrounds and seals the metallic shield against the first jacket layer, such that the insertion of the first jacket layer provides the cable with electrical signal attenuation and impedance characteristics equivalent to that of an unshielded cable with similar conductor insulation thicknesses. In another embodiment, a dual layer plenum rated electrical cable is disclosed. The cable has at least a pair of insulated conductors and a jacket surrounding the insulated conductors. Both the first and second jacket layer are made of a low-smoke and flame-retardant materials.

Abstract: An enameled wire with an insulating coated layer of high laser beam absorption and with a melting layer transparent to the laser beam. The high laser beam absorption makes stripping of the insulating coating layer easy without increasing an output of the laser beam extremely large. As a result, possible wire breakage at soldering can be avoided and soldering reliability improves in assembling the small electro-acoustic transducers. An electro-acoustic transducer of the present invention is provided in the resin-molded body with an empty space in at least a place underneath a portion of soldering land, on which a laser beam is irradiated. Apparatus comprising the electro-acoustic transducer of the present invention can provide a well-stabilized soldering quality and a high reliability.

Abstract: An axle disconnect system is provided whereby axles of a tandem or multi-axle vehicle may be easily and quickly engaged and disengaged as required and whereby the ring gear and differential gears remain stationary when the axle is disengaged. In multi-axle vehicles, a dual disconnect mechanism is contained in the front and auxiliary rear axles. When only the primary rear axle is necessary to propel the vehicle (e.g., during highway use) the transfer case interrupts torque to the front axle. Similarly, a clutch also interrupts torque transmission to the auxiliary rear axle. In this mode, the dual disconnect mechanism prevents the axle output shafts from back-driving the differential, thereby reducing parasitic losses and wear.

MCM provides electric current to and controls both ISA and TM to work in their desired working modes. The battery stores the electric energy generated by the motors and provides electric power to the motors. Abstract: A passenger restraint system actuates a passenger restraint device more appropriately in situations where a vehicle rolls over. When the steering is turned in the same direction as the roll direction before the roll angle of the vehicle exceeds a threshold value, the passenger restraint system assumes the vehicle is headed toward recovery from the rollover behavior and subtracts a predetermined angle successively from the roll angle in accordance with the steering angle. Thus, the passenger restraint device is not actuated when the steering operation will stop the rollover behavior. On the other hand, the passenger restraint device is actuated when the steering is not operated and the vehicle rolls over, and when operation of the steering begins to effect a recovery but ultimately the vehicle rolls over anyway. In this situation, the passenger restraint system bypasses executing subtraction from the roll angle after the roll angular velocity exceeds a prescribed angular velocity.

Abstract: A rotational-part supporter has a structure in which one of either an inner part or an outer part is fixed, and the other one is rotated, and a main rotational shaft lies between the inner and outer parts. A revolving speed below a revolving speed based on a lubrication lifetime predicted for each rotational bearing (3) is stored in a memory (61) disposed in the lubricant supply controller (6). When a revolving speed obtained by actual rotation coincides with the stored revolving speed in the rotational bearing (3) after supplying the lubricant, the controller (6) issues a signal indicating that the lubricant should be newly supplied, and thereby a safety operation can be realized.

Abstract: A braking assembly (102) and method for use with a brake by wire system provides braking forces to first and second wheels (104, 106) as a function of first and second electrical brake signals. A first hydraulic brake assembly (108) coupled to the first wheel (104) applies a first braking force to the first wheel (104). A second hydraulic brake assembly (110) coupled to the second wheel (106) applies a second braking force to the second wheel (106). A first pressure sensor (112) senses a pressure of the first hydraulic brake assembly (108) and responsively produces a first pressure signal. A second pressure sensor (114) senses a pressure of the second hydraulic brake assembly (110) and responsively produces a second pressure signal. A controller (116) receives a desired brake actuation signal and responsively determines the first and second electrical brake signals.

Abstract: A vehicle parking brake assembly is particularly useful as a driveline parking brake. The parking brake assembly is spring applied and electrically released. A mechanical spring operates to move an engaging portion into a braking position when the parking brake is applied. An electrically powered actuator operates to selectively move the spring against the bias of the spring to thereby release the parking brake.

Abstract: An impact damper as a connecting member between a bumper and a chassis of a motor vehicle for the purpose of damping the shock loading during a collision between this motor vehicle and an obstacle through hydraulic damping forces and gas-spring forces. This impact damper includes an inner tube which can be displaced telescopically inside an outer tube, thereby changing the volume of a pressurized gas space, which interact by means of a separating piston with a first liquid space, which communicates hydraulically via a restriction orifice with a second liquid space, which is bounded by a deformation element. The separating piston is arranged in a floating manner in the inner tube and thereby brings about a static equilibrium by pressure compensation in the liquid spaces and in the gas space.

Abstract: Impact damper as a connecting member between a bumper and a chassis of a motor vehicle for the purpose of damping the shock loading during a collision between this motor vehicle and an obstacle, predominantly through gas-spring forces and deformation work. This impact damper includes an inner tube and an outer tube, which can be displaced telescopically one inside the other, thereby changing the volume of pressurized first and second gas spaces, at least one of the gas spaces being connected to an accumulator by a pneumatic feed line. An electrically controllable control valve, by means of which the air pressure in the gas spaces can be changed, can be arranged in the pneumatic feed line. The pressure in the gas spaces can be varied by a detection sensor system in the motor vehicle, which controls a control valve and adapts the pressure to the expected momentum of the collision. It is possible for a deformation element to be displaced as well to absorb a high impact energy by deformation work.
