Abstract: An inspection system utilized to inspect a structure for particularities, including defects, includes a first gantry with a detector inspection device that is placed in a known position on one side of the structure, and a second gantry with a source inspection device that is placed on the other side of the structure. In an embodiment, the detector inspection device is an x-ray detector inspection device and the source inspection device is an x-ray source inspection device. The movement of the first and second gantries is controlled by a gantry control system. A data acquisition system controls the data, e.g., image, collection process. During the data collection process, the relative positions of the source and detector inspection devices are initialized. The detector and source inspection devices are then moved in synchronized motion to each data collection position, such that the relative alignment of the inspection devices is maintained.

The device forms a beam of electrons that bombards a portion of the roughly cylindrical surface of the anode that constitutes the focal point of emission of the X-rays. The position of the focal point of the anode relative to a reference position is dynamically controlled.

Abstract: A method is provided for identifying detector elements in a solid state X-ray detector susceptible to causing line artifacts due to faulty detector elements that leak charge. A portion of the X-ray detector is covered by a radiation occluding material and the detector is exposed to a level of radiation sufficient to reach a predetermined threshold in the exposed portion of the detector. An image representative of the radiation is acquired and further analyzed to determine whether line artifacts exist. Data lines found to exhibit line artifacts are stored in the image processor.

Abstract: A method of producing images with different image characteristics from measured computer tomographic data, includes using a convolution of measured data with a first convolution core, designed to produce the first image characteristic, and subsequent back-projection by which first image data of a first image with the first image characteristic is calculated. The first image data is then subjected to filtering in order to produce second image data of a second image with a second image characteristic. By using the method, the storage requirement and the computing time in the production of images with different image characteristics can be reduced.

Abstract: A method is provided to reconstruct the three-dimensional image of an X-ray contrast agent-filled object having at least one plane of symmetry using a single plane two-dimensional X-ray projection. The projection is obtained by irradiating the object with X-rays substantially perpendicular to a selected plane of symmetry of the object. The absorbance value of each pixel in the projection, which is related to the distance travelled by the X-ray within the object, is then divided by 2 to define the z coordinates on each side of the x-y plane of symmetry of the object. The z coordinates together with the x,y coordinates of each pixel define the three-dimensional contour of the object.

Abstract: A stored profile system has a method and means for storing and exchanging user profiles of communications-related information for voice and multimedia communications on the PSTN and the Internet. Stored profile exchanges from a called party device to a calling user enables the calling user to direct the call to telephone numbers and services presented by the called party's profile. Users are enabled to transmit information, such as an Electronic Business Card, in the call setup process for display on a receiving device. The stored profile system operates across the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and the Internet, further enhancing the benefits of integrating the Internet with the PSTN.

Abstract: A method, program and system for entering messages into a database are provided. The method comprises accessing the database by means of one of a plurality of allowable communication devices, which may include phone, mobile phone, PDA, pager and computer. The user then enters a voice or text message into a designated account in the database. The message is stored in a uniform format, which is specified for the account. This uniform format is independent of the communication device used to access the database. When messages are retrieved from the database, the messages are converted from the uniform format into a format which is compatible with the device used to access the database.

Abstract: A system and method of providing interactive data exchange between a plurality of outside parties utilizing a plurality of telephone apparatus, a voice response unit, at least one operator terminal, and at least one database regardless of the configuration of the voice response unit to a voice path switch. The system includes a voice response unit interface, for receiving and storing data acquired by the voice response unit. The data includes an automatic number identifier for each call. When calls are to be transferred to an operator terminal, the call is inserted into a queue that is monitored by a data controller. The data controller identifies each call by its ANI and searches the voice response unit interface to retrieve data stored therein, which is associated with the call. The data is then provided to an operator terminal for an operator assigned to handle the call.

Abstract: A system for providing a single on-hold audio message to a plurality of business telephone systems at separated geographic locations converts the audio message into digital form, compresses the resulting digital file, and transmits the file via the Internet as an attachment to an e-mail message to general purpose computers located in association with each of the business telephone systems. Each of the general purpose computers receiving the message writes it onto a floppy disc which is provided to an associated playback unit. The playback units read the compressed digital files representing the on-hold message, provide the recirculating flash memories, provide the output of the flash memories to decompressors and the output of the decompressors to digital-to-analog converters. The resulting audio signals are applied to the on-hold inputs of each of the business telephone systems.

This effectively provides a telephone service to a user at the lower rate.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for ensuring a real-time connection between users and selected service providers using voice mail. The system enables seekers of a wide array of services to select, contact, converse, and pay for a service provider using a communications device such as the telephone. A seeker locates a service provider by providing the name of a profession, which is recognized by the system's software. Once a service provider is selected, the system connects the seeker with the service provider for a live conversation. However, during service provider unavailability, the system enables the seeker to leave a voice mail message for the service provider and reconnects the user and service provider once the message is reviewed by the service provider. The system automatically bills the seeker for the time spent conversing with the service provider and compensates the service provider.

Registration of the account is completed by a consumer following a series of voice prompts without the need for authorization or intervention by the company administering the prepaid calling card service.

The call control instruction can be provided to a telephony application upon initiation of a call or by request. Abstract: A method and system are disclosed transmitting a message to a telephone station. Different routing strings are used to establish calls between different network elements, based on the location of the network elements with respect to one another. Different time delay periods are associated with the different routing strings so as to offset any differences in the time needed to setup the systems for the transmission of a message to a telephone station. This enables messages to effectively transmitted to the telephone stations so that they are complete and not cutoff.

JAIN provides standardized open APIs which can be utilized to build and integrated services and components for communications networks such as the PSTN. In response to a call request initiated in the PSTN by a calling party, the telephony application can determine from callerlD information associated with the call request, the identity of the called party. This can include the called party's name or identity.

Abstract: When a call is placed to an organization seeking information from a representative of that organization, the call is frequently placed on hold for an extended period of time. After the call is made and the called party's telephone is placed on hold, the caller enters a code signal to place the call on hold. At this instant, both telephones are on hold. At some time after this “Hold On Hold” connection is established when a representative of the organization called answers the telephone and speaks to identify himself, the network identifies the signals as being generated by a live person, and a ring signal is sent to the caller's telephone to alert the caller that the call is no longer on hold.

Abstract: The present invention relates to method and system for providing online information in a networked user environment in which an end-user runs an application program and transmits data to an online server while running the application program. It is proposed to provide a request-button at the end-user application program dedicated to requesting information, and in particular help-information. When a help request is received at the communication server, a communication channel is promptly established between end-user and an agent. Information about the user activities sent in one or more transaction parts of an end-user intended business process and performed in the current application program session is read from the storage in the application server and is provided to the terminal of said agent in the help center. Advantageously, the same communication channel as used for performing the transactions is used for voice transmission for providing help or other information to the end-user.

Abstract: An integrated PBX and SIP telephony communications network supporting transmission of private signaling codes over SIP. A telephone emits a private signaling code for accessing a particular PBX function. An enhanced IP translator coupled to the telephone encapsulates the private signaling code within a SIP invite, request, response, information, notification message, and/or instant message. The SIP message with the encapsulated private signaling codes is transmitted over a communications network to a PBX. The PBX is also coupled to an enhanced IP translator that receives the SIP message and decapsulates the embedded private signaling codes. The codes are transmitted to the PBX for rendering a function for the telephone. A SIP user agent aware of the private signaling codes may also access functions provided by the PBX by encapsulating/decapsulating private signaling codes into/from SIP messages.

The invention is capable of discerning an intentional polarity reversal telephony signal by eliminating transmission noise, as well as false triggering due to a high frequency (relative to a defined threshold) ring signal.

Abstract: A non-linear processor for use in an echo canceller is set forth. The non-linear processor includes a center clipping digital filter receiving an echo compensated signal. The non-linear processor provides a center clipped output signal having non-linear thresholds at values of +TNLP and −TNLP. The value of TNLP is dynamically dependent, at least in part, on echo return loss measurements. To limit the processor's susceptibility to corruption from double-talk conditions, the non-linear processor inhibits the dynamic setting of the TNLP value when a double-talk condition is present. Additionally, or in the alternative, the non-linear processor locks the value of the echo return loss measurement after a predetermined number of consecutive echo return loss measurements have values falling within a predetermined range of one another. Such locking further reduces the susceptibility of the non-linear processor to corruption from double-talk conditions.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer software and hardware products providing method, apparatus and system solutions for implementing table lookups in a side-channel attack resistant manner. Embodiments are provided for devices and situations where there is limited amount of RAM memory available or restrictions on memory addressing. The solutions solve problems associated with look up tables with large indices, as well as problems associated with looking up large sized tables or a collection of tables of large cumulative size, in limited devices, in an efficient side-channel attack resistant manner. These solutions provide defenses against both first-order side channel attacks as well as higher-order side channel attacks. One aspect of the present invention is the creation of one or more random tables which are used possibly in conjunction with other tables to perform a table lookup.

At the point of sale (POS) or point of distribution, the consumer presents his personal smart token to the clerk who inserts it into a POS reader along with a companion digital identifier (CDI™). The POS reader extracts a digital key from the CDI™ and merges it with the player list in the consumer's smart token. The POS reader then destroys the CDI™ and returns the smart token to the consumer. The digital key for the media item is now stored on the consumer's personal smart token, merged with the player identifiers for the players possessed by the user. When the user returns home, he inserts the media item into his player along with his smart token, and the digital key is extracted and used to decrypt the encryption key for the material that is stored on the media item itself. Then, the player decrypts the media item as it is played.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for improving ARC4 processing in a cryptography engine. A multiple ported memory can be used to allow pipelined read and write access to values in memory. Coherency checking can be applied to provide that read-after-write and write-after-write consistency is maintained. Initialization of the memory can be improved with a reset feature occurring in a single cycle. Key shuffle and key stream generation can also be performed using a single core.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for secure communications to a network-connected printer. The method comprises: receiving documents encrypted with a public key; spooling the encrypted documents into a printer memory; accepting a private key corresponding to the public key used to encrypt the documents; in response to accepting the private key, generating a list of documents encrypted with a corresponding public key; creating a graphical user interface (GUI) dialog box to invoke the selection of an encrypted document; decrypting the documents with the private key; and, printing the decrypted documents in response to selecting a document. The printer has a card reader to read code from SMART cards, and accepting a private key includes using the code read by the card reader as the private key. Alternately, the printer has a keyboard interface to accept an alpha-numeric code.

Abstract: A method for protecting traffic in a radio access network connected to at least two core networks (CN). The method comprises maintaining a core-network-specific authentication protocol and a radio-bearer-specific ciphering process, and generating, for each ciphering process, a count parameter (C) comprising a cyclical sequence number (43) and a hyperframe number (HFN) which is incremented each time the cyclical sequence number (43) completes one cycle. For each core network or authentication protocol, a first radio bearer of a session is initialized (5-8) with a HFN exceeding the highest HFN used during the previous session. When a new radio bearer is established, the mobile station selects (5-10) the highest HFN used during the session for the core network in question, increments it (5-12) and uses it for initializing (5-14) the count parameter for the new radio bearer. At the end of a session, the mobile station stores (5-16) at least part (41) of the highest HFN used during the session.

The method comprises: generating a plurality of passwords for a corresponding plurality of user groups; creating profiles having an address field and an encryption field; storing the profiles in a directory in response to the generated password; selecting a profile from the directory; scanning a document; encrypting the document in response to the encryption field of the selected profile; and, sending the encrypted document in response to the address field of the selected profile. Selecting a profile includes selecting a profile having either an email address or a file transfer protocol (FTP) address. Further, selecting a profile includes selecting a profile having either a symmetric or asymmetric (public) key encryption field. Then, creating profiles includes storing either the symmetric or public keys in the created profiles.
