    Abstract: A pouch for sterilized materials is formed from two webs positioned face-to-face attached around portions of their edges by heat fusion, thereby forming a pouch having an interior cavity and a mouth being an unsealed portion of the webs along a top edge. An interior boundary line along the inside of the seal area has a wavy configuration which includes a series of inward-facing peaks and valleys. Thus, when the cross-seal is applied to close the pouch, the overlap of the seal areas along the interior boundary is along a wavy line and therefore microbial contamination is inhibited by this tortuous path. A similar tortuous path for preventing microbial contamination is provided in the type of the pouch having a breather panel by cutting a wavy configuration into the side edge of the breather panel web before it is spliced and fused to the other pouch webs.

The end of the optical fibre and the end of the lens are optically aligned before being secured in place relative to each other. Alternatively, the invention provides similar advantages in coupling two lenses to one another via separate sleeves they are contained within.

    Abstract: A joining device 10 for constructing arts and crafts projects. The joining device 10 comprises a stem piece 14 having a first end 11 terminating in a base 18 with threads 20 substantially encircling the base 18, and a second end 13 having a plurality of fins 12 attached thereto. The joining device 10 also comprises an extension 24 with a first end 15 coupled to the stem piece 14 adjacent to the base 18 and a second end 17 having a hinging member 26, 28 thereon. A wall 22 between the base 18 and the extension 24 acts in retaining the joining device 10 firmly against an arts and crafts article 34 near the base 18. Two joining devices 10 secured by their respective hinging members 26, 28 form a joint assembly 25 beneficial in building arts and crafts projects in order to provide for a connection between parts via a hinge 42 and controlled rotation around the hinge 42.

    Abstract: A passive ball capture joint has a sleeve with a plurality of bores distributed about a circumference thereof and formed therethrough at an acute angle relative to the sleeve's longitudinal axis. A spring-loaded retainer is slidingly fitted in each bore and is biased such that, if allowed, will extend at least partially into the sleeve to retain a ball therein. A ring, rotatably mounted about the bores, has an interior wall defining a plurality of shaped races that bear against the spring-loaded retainers. A mechanized rotational force producer is coupled to the ring. The ring can be rotated from a first position (that presses the retainers into the sleeve to lock the ball in place) to a second position (that allows the retainers to spring back out of the sleeve to release the ball).

    Abstract: A sintered, flanged cam pulley includes a sintered cam pulley body and an annular flange caulked to the sintered cam pulley body. The sintered cam pulley body has at an end portion thereof an axial annular projection and a stepped portion formed on an outer periphery side of the annular projection. An inner peripheral surface of the annular flange is fitted on the stepped portion of the sintered cam pulley body. The tip of the annular projection is deformed plastically from the inner to the outer periphery side of the annular projection by a caulking roller. The caulking roller has a first conical surface of a large angle and a second conical surface of a small angle contiguous to the first conical surface, the first and second conical surfaces being formed on an outer peripheral surface of the caulking roller. The annular flange is thereby caulked to the sintered cam pulley body.

    Abstract: A molding device for placement of formed cementitious material such as concrete on a mounting surface. The device is used in combination with a supply of pressurized cementitious material communicated through a hose from a conventional cement pump or the like. It features a mold unit having an a compression chamber at a first end communicating with an extrusion chamber at a second end. Cement material is forced into the compression chambers from the cement pump and extruded from the exit orifice of the extrusion chamber. The device is propelled forward by the pressure from the injected cement against the front of the device and away from the formed material means control any upward travel of said mold unit caused by said internal pressure against said top wall. Weights may be added to the top of the device to limit upward travel and a steering mechanism may be added to the front of the device to steer it on a defined course.

The atrium housing defines a hollow atrium chamber equipped with internal support members for mounting different types of irrigation water dispensing devices, such as a bubbler head or emitter device, for delivering irrigation water downwardly into the porous sleeve and further there through to the adjacent plant roots. A cap grate is removably mounted over the top of the atrium housing to accommodate access to the atrium chamber and the selected water dispensing device mounted therein.

An acid resistant layer is the innermost layer of an inflatable liner, and the liner is coated with epoxy resin on its outermost surface, the surface which contacts the existing walls of the underground structure. The outermost coated surface of the liner is constructed with a fibrous fleece layer for retention of the epoxy and adhesion of the epoxy to the walls of the underground structure. An added feature of the liner is a structure which also seals the liner to pipes entering the underground structure.
