Abstract: A hydraulic rescue system comprises a fluid reservoir, a pump assembly having a plurality of pump modules, and a manifold assembly having a corresponding number of manifold modules. Each pump module includes an input port for drawing hydraulic fluid from the fluid reservoir and an output port for supplying hydraulic fluid under pressure to a hydraulic rescue tool. Each manifold module includes a fluid circuit that is adapted to fluidly connect the output port of one of the pump modules with a hydraulic rescue tool. A PTO adapter is connected to the pump assembly and is operably connectable to a PTO shaft of a vehicle transmission for operating the pump modules. In this manner, a number of different hydraulic rescue tools can be operated simultaneously with full pressure from the pump assembly.

Abstract: An energy conversion device for converting heat to mechanical energy. The apparatus includes a heat exchanger vessel absorbing heat from an ambient or energy-rich fluid and transferring heat to a working fluid within an interior chamber of the vessel containing pressurized working gas. An isolation vessel is positioned within the interior chamber, with a gas flow loop defined between the two vessels through which the working gas flows. The isolation vessel is insulated to create a temperature differential and is pressure resistant to allow low pressures in the interior chamber to be maintained. A compressor is positioned within the isolation vessel to compress and discharge the gas into the gas flow loop. An expander is placed in the isolation vessel for converting energy of the expanding gas into a mechanical energy and for rarefying the expanded gas prior to discharge to create a lower bottom temperature or cold reservoir.

Abstract: This invention relates to air breathing engines, such as ramjets, scramjets and internal combustion, and more particularly to an active combustion control device for a combustor. In more particularity, the present invention relates to a method and apparatus that applies active combustion control technology to advanced propulsion devices and closed-loop fuel injection at sub-harmonic frequencies of the instability frequency of the combustor. The problem of limited actuator frequency response is addressed by injecting fuel pulses at sub-harmonic frequencies of the instability. The fuel may be liquid, solid or gas. To achieve this desired result, a closed loop controller is designed to determine sub-harmonic frequencies using a divider to divide the instability frequency of a combustor, yielding a fraction of the harmonic frequency.

Abstract: There is provided a car air conditioner with a high COP, low GWP and high reliability. A simple refrigerant R32 is filled in a refrigerant circuit 1 of the car air conditioner. This simple refrigerant R32 has a high COP and low GWP, but is easily polarized and produces contaminants and sludge. However, these contaminants and sludge hardly block a motor-driven expansion valve 6 or the like due to vibration and impact of a car. Therefore, this car air conditioner has high reliability. Furthermore, since the simple refrigerant R32 is a simple substance, recycling after collection is easy.
