Abstract: Face Protector with a one piece molded plastic assembly, the assembly comprised of a single plane vertically disposed and radially curved member, the radially curved member shaped to fit around a person's face, the radially curved member terminating in a reinforcing rib about its bottom and side perimeter, the radially curved member terminating at its top edge in an integral, horizontally disposed pocket shaped to fit onto the front portion of a standard baseball cap, said one piece molded assembly molded from a clear, impact resistant material such as polycarbonate, and said molded clear material being treated with an ultraviolet resisting chemical. A preferred embodiment includes wherein said clear material is tinted to reduce eyestrain.

Abstract: A garment made from three layers of flexible material dimensioned to surround respective joints, body parts or the complete body, except for the entire face, of a wearer. The garment alleviates or reduces pain from certain forms of arthritis, especially osteoarthritis and can delay the onset of such conditions. The garment also can prevent hypothermia and reduce adverse effects from exposure to reduced temperatures.

Abstract: The present invention provides a clothing shield. The clothing shield has a chest section, pocket section and an optional lap section. The pocket section includes an opening member that causes the pocket to automatically open when the clothing shield is used.

Abstract: There is provided a pressure vest for applying pressure upon a torso of a wearer. The pressure vest comprises a torso-engaging member configured to engage the torso of the wearer. Moreover, a plurality of pressure applicators are disposed about the torso-engaging member. Further, at least one sensor for detecting moisture of the wearer is in communication with each of the pressure applicators. The sensor activates the pressure applicators in response to detected moisture for applying pressure upon the torso of the wearer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a clothes having a detachable hidden communication wire, which comprises a clothes and a communication wire. The clothes can be a jacket or a shirt. A receiving space is disposed on the clothes. Two ends of the communication wire are connected to a first connector and a second connector, respectively. The communication wire is received in the receiving space. The first connector and the second connector protrude out of the receiving space. A clothes having a detachable hidden communication wire is thus formed. The communication wire will not swing, and will not disturb action and work of a user. Moreover, the detachment and replacement is easy, the assembly is simple and convenient, and the cost is lower.

Abstract: An improved article of hand-wear comprising a mitten or a glove having an additional finger or digital section of insulating material, corresponding to the finger section of the article of hand-wear. The article comprises: (a) an inner lining that is preferably moisture absorbent, into which the hand is inserted; (b) an insulating lining made of micro-fibers covering the inner lining; (c) a second insulating micro-fiber ““pouch”” or ““cap”” (hereinafter also ““macrocap””) over the integral fingers or digital section into which the first micro-fiber lining and inner lining is inserted; and (d) an outer cover covering all of the above.

Abstract: The invention relates to a glove that allows for increased tactility and that has no seams in the zone of the finger tips. The palm of the inventive glove is especially produced from soft (glove) leather which is preferably hyrophobed and oleophobed. The exterior or the back of the glove is produced from a breathable and skin-friendly material that is longitudinally elastic and that can be hydrophobed and oleophobed.

Abstract: A baseball-style cap having a pliable visor which includes an upper fabric portion, a lower fabric portion, and a resilient stiffener placed therebetween. The cap further includes a piped fabric portion that is located between the upper and lower fabric portions, adjacent an outer periphery of such upper and lower portions, into which a deformable material is inserted. The combination of the resilient stiffener and the deformable material allows the visor to be readily bent or folded as well as easily restored to its original configuration. The resulting cap can be produced easily, is attractive in use and can be carried in a pocket without damage to the visor.

Abstract: A baseball-style cap having a freely transformable visor which includes an upper fabric portion, a lower fabric portion, and a resilient stiffener placed therebetween. The cap further includes a piped fabric portion that is located between the upper and lower fabric portions, adjacent an outer periphery of such upper and lower portions, into which a deformable material is inserted. The deformable material includes a plastic sheath defining a channel, and a metal material lying within the channel and enclosed thereby. The combination of the resilient stiffener and the deformable material allows the visor to be readily bent or folded as well as easily restored to its original configuration. The resulting cap can be produced easily, is attractive in use and can be carried in a pocket without damage to the visor.

Abstract: An article of headwear (1), preferably of moisture absorbent cloth, having two narrow end sections (4a, 4b) and a wide middle section (7) for covering the head and neck of a wearer. The inner side (3) of the middle section (7) contains a pocket (10) near the bottom (9) for holding thermal matter (15), such as frozen liquid or heat pads. An optional semi-circular headband (5) on the inner side (3) of the middle section (7) above the pocket (10) may assist in placing and holding the headwear to a forehead on a person. An optional visor (11) extending from the top portion (8) of the headwear is also provided. The end sections may serve as handles to be held by the hands. Various other fastening means (13a, 13b, 14a, 14b, 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b) have been provided for securing the headwear to the head of a wearer. The outside (2) of the headwear may also serve as a medium for advertising (6).

The disposable foot covering includes an opening having an elastic band. The coverings can also include a plurality of toe receiving areas adapted to receive one or more toes, non-stick layers located on an upper interior surface of the covering and position so that the non-stick layers further protect freshly polished, painted and/or oiled toenails from smudging, smearing or damage, and non-slip layer located at a heel, ball of the foot and/or toe regions of the covering to reduce the potential of the coverings of this invention shifting after placed on the foot and prior to the toenails drying.

A resilient spring member of springy plastic, composite, metal or other material is mounted to the fabric around the opening, and has two arms which have portions which are displaced vertically from one another when the closure is open, but which are resiliently compressed into a common plane when the closure is sealed. Each time the closure is opened, the spring member urges portions of the shell on either side of the flap apart, to thereby enlarge the area of the opening and permit access or air flow therethrough.

The belt kit further comprises at least two interchangeable covers that are distinctive in appearance from each other and that are each configured and adapted to be attached to and supported by the belt body in a manner such that the cover at least partially conceals the belt body when the belt body is being worn around a person's waist. The kit provides a method for people to construct a plurality of visually distinguishable belt assemblies for aesthetically coordinating their apparel using only a single belt body.

Abstract: The invention provides device for affixing a lens of a safety helmet. A helmet housing has a base located on each of both sides. The base has a C-like protruding ring. The protruding ring has an upward opening gap, wherein an inner side surface has a C-like groove. A protruding body is located under the protruding ring, wherein a bottom of the protruding body has a concave clicking opening. A side front portion of the protruding ring has clicking protruding body having a top with a slant surface. A windshield lens of safety helmet has a base plate at each of both sides, which base plate can be affixed onto the base of the helmet housing. An inner side of the base has two L-like clicking protruding bodies, which can be inserted to the C-like groove. A clicking gear is formed on the base plate at a bottom rim corresponding to the protruding body of the base.

Abstract: The invention relates to an inflatable cushion comprising at least two interconnected films, one of which forms the underside of the cushion and the other film has elastomeric properties and forms the upper face of the cushion. When inflated, said cushion has a width (B) ranging between 50 and 80 cm, a length (L) of between 10 and 30 cm and a height (H) of a maximum 10 cm. The cushion comprises a substantially flat underside (1), a respective convex upper face (2) and (2a) in both border areas, when viewed from the longitudinal cross-section and at least one depression (3) in the upper face, which lies between the border areas and is concave towards the underside. The invention also relates to the use of said cushion as an anatomically pre-formed cushion, in particular for the orthopaedic, preventive and post-operative treatment of complaints of the vertebral column, shoulders and/or the knee-joint.

Abstract: A no-slip, no-spill, no-hands urinal provides freedom and a hygienic environment for a person confined to a wheelchair or bed. The urinal is shaped so it stays in place without being held, is resistant to urine spillage, and can be comfortably used for hours at a time. The urinal includes a soft, clear plastic body with rounded edges, and is shaped so it fits close to the body of the user and under the thighs of the user. It thereby uses the pressure of the thighs of the user to hold it in place. The urinal has a concave front section, conforming with the male anatomy, allowing a closer and more comfortable fit for male users. The no-spill feature includes a platform portion which also serves to keep the male member above the opening in the receptacle portion of the urinal.

Abstract: A vacuum surge suppressor for swimming pool safety valves. These valves normally sense and then instantly relieve excessively high vacuum levels in the pool's drain line. Such high vacuum levels occur when an individual becomes trapped by the suction at the pool's drain port which is connected to the drain line. The valve relieves the high vacuum level in the pool's drain line and the suction at the drain port by bleeding air into the pool's drain line, causing the pump connected to the drain line to lose prime. However, the safety function and indeed the entire function of the pool's drain system can be disabled by a short duration vacuum surge which occurs when the pump starts. The present invention suppresses the surge before it reaches the safety valve, thereby permitting the pool and the valve to function despite the presence of such short duration surges.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for bathing body parts, such as the feet. The apparatus includes a bath chamber for containing fluid, such as water, and receiving the body part therein. The bath chamber includes a bottom surface and a wall structure extending upwardly therefrom, wherein the wall structure has a contact area adapted to be exposed when fluid is contained in the bath chamber. A heating member is provided on the contact area for providing heat, such as infrared rays, to the body part when the body part is placed on the contact area. In addition, the bath apparatus can include at least one massage attachment adapted to be received on the contact area for massaging the body part when the body part engages the massage attachment.

The injection means 41 and 42 perform a cleaning operation by injecting pressure liquid for cleaning. Abstract: The present invention provides a cot assembly that includes a frame, supporting corner pieces and bedding material. The frame is preferably of a one or two piece construction and is shaped into a perimeter defining an interior area. Corner pieces support the frame above an external support surface. The bedding material extends across the interior of the frame and into the corner pieces without any gaps between the material, the frame and corner pieces, thereby protecting against injury which could otherwise result from the presence of such gaps. The continuous frame maintains the cot's rigidity while the corner pieces lower the cot's profile for stacking. The cot includes at least a number of corner pieces corresponding to the corners of the polygonal shape. A pedestal extends downwardly from each corner piece to engage the floor or other supporting surface. In a preferred form, each of the corner pieces includes top and bottom portions defining a slot therebetween for receiving the bedding material.

Each blade is positively but releasably locked into its open position. A single locking, releasing, and biasing mechanism serves all of the blades in one handle.

The treated fiber exhibits excellent crockfastness, color fastness, and abrasion resistance, and has a soft hand.

The novel method herein comprises the steps of i) mixing a phosphorous containing reducing agent with at least one carboxylic acid monomer to form a reaction mixture; ii) adding an equivalent of base to the reaction mixture to provide a partially neutralized reaction mixture; and iii) adding a free radical generator to the partially neutralized reaction mixture under polymerization conditions to form a phospho/carboxylic acid polymer containing solution. Abstract: Textile materials having high colorfastness, and methods for their production are described. The process involves heatsetting a textile material, then applying a polysiloxane/catalyst combination to the heatset material. The textile material is then dried at low temperature, thereby resulting in a material having good colorfastness and shade. The process can be used to process fibers, yarns or fabrics, and is particularly useful in the processing of microdenier fibers.

A gangway extends from the frame's front end for extending to another platform such as an aircraft doorway so that the gangway can be aligned therewith by manipulating the frame in the operating plane. Preferably the frame and bearing surfaces are supported in a mobile structures such as passenger ramp. The gangway is preferably pivoted from the frame for adapting to differential elevations. The pivoting gangway can be counterbalanced for ease of manipulation. A braking system is provided to lock gangway against movement once positioned.

Abstract: This application discloses a novel bridge construction for use in affording vehicle and pedestrian traffic over small streams and wetlands. The construction utilizes standardized sizes of pier blocks for supporting standardized deck plates, with interengaging anchor projections and sockets one on the upper ends of the pier blocks and the other on the undersides of the deck plates. Identical sockets also are provided on the bottom ends of the pier blocks for engaging the projections on underlying pier blocks, affording vertical stacking of pier blocks to accommodate varying vertical distances between a stream and an elevated roadway. A V-shaped groove formed by the tapered longitudinal edges of adjacent deck plates, together with a registering outward indentation communicating with the groove, is adapted for filling with a concrete grout, for securing the deck plates against vertical displacement.

The force of attraction of the device against the surface is, therefore, accurately distributed to the working device and the other two supports so that the pressure force of the working device can be specifically varied and also controlled by varying the vacuum between the device and the surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved mechanical coupling for rapidly adjusting the elevation of a working edge portion of a tool which working edge portion is subject to wear that decreases the effective length of the working edge portion. In one embodiment, the bristles of a drum-type brush comprise the working edge portion. Once the working edge is properly adjusted with respect to a work surface, the amount of downforce imparted by the working edge and the pattern of the working edge on a work surface are maximized. In use an operator compares the length of the working edge to a first indicia set displayed adjacent the working edge and adjusts the elevation of the working edge with reference to a second indicia set which corresponds to the first indicia set. Surface maintenance vehicles which support an adjustable height tool with a working edge that wears down may utilize the present invention.

Abstract: A toothbrush with removable brushing members includes a handle, a brush head extending from the handle, and one or more brushing members. The brush head includes a bottom surface and a body together defining a cavity for receiving one or more brushing members. The brush head further includes an anchoring member extending partially around the inside perimeter of the body. The brushing members are placed against the bottom surface and are anchored in the cavity by the anchoring member. In one embodiment, the brushing members are stubs made of sywack. A sywack stick can be cut into stubs of a desired height and assembled into the toothbrush of the present invention so that effective dental cleaning can be carried out using sywack.

Abstract: Adapter plates which can be used with a cleaning implement are provided. These adapter plates can be removably attached to a dry or wet cleaning implement in order to allow a consumer to use longer and/or larger sheets or pads without having to purchase a complete cleaning implement. These adapter plates may have elevational elements at the bottom surface to improve the efficiency of cleaning by creating pressure zones in the sheet or pad. These adapter plates may also have a scrubbing element secured at one edge of the plate for heavy stain removal.
