Publication number: 20040011233Abstract: Conventional design tools were not developed for designing square zero-shift supercells. Conventionally, solutions that enable square zero-shift supercells were found by trial and error or by exhaustive analysis. According to a first design criterion of this invention, a non-square supercell in a first frame of reference has a diagonal that is equal in length to the diagonal of a square supercell in a second frame of reference rotated at a desired screen angle to the first frame of reference. The screen angle is a function of the lengths of the sides of the non-square supercell in the first frame of reference. According to a second design criterion, if the area of the corresponding square supercell in the second frame of reference is an integer, a square zero-shift supercell can be designed based on the lengths of the sides of the non-square supercell in the first frame of reference.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 16, 2002Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventor: Charles M. Publication number: 20040011234Abstract: The gel method of printing variable information of the present invention involves applying inks onto a substrate that is part of or attached to a cylinder of the printing machine. Imaging is by means of an energy source in the UV, visible or infrared regions, modulated to represent a digital image pattern that has been composed on a computer. The consequence of imaging is to gel the ink and increase its adhesion to the substrate of the printing cylinder. The non-gelled background ink with lower adhesion is then removed by a squeegee action and returned to an ink reservoir. The remaining image is transferred to an offset blanket or directly to print stock by pressure. The process does not use a master, but produces an image that is erased after printing with each cylinder rotation so that the next rotation producing the next print can have fresh information written upon it.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventors: Murray Figov, Anna Sigalov

Publication number: 20040011252Abstract: Corrosion-inhibiting pigments based on manganese are described that contain a trivalent or tetravalent manganese/valence stabilizer complex. An inorganic or organic material is used to stabilize the trivalent or tetravalent manganese ion to form a compound that is sparingly soluble, exhibits low solubility, or is insoluble in water, depending upon the intended usage. Specific stabilizers are chosen to control the release rate of trivalent or tetravalent manganese during exposure to water and to tailor the compatibility of the powder when used as a pigment in a chosen binder system. Stabilizers may also modify the processing and handling characteristics of the formed powders. Manganese/valence stabilizer combinations are chosen based on the well-founded principles of manganese coordination chemistry. Many manganese-valence stabilizer combinations are presented that can equal the performance of conventional hexavalent chromium or tetravalent lead systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventors: Jeffrey A. One lateral pair is at the water end. Each assembly has a roller axle carrying a hull roller at each end. The assemblies are mounted so that their axles are in pivotable elevated transverse orientation above the side rails so as to provide hull conforming support for a boat. A keel assembly having a central keel roller of significant axial length in at the water end.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventor: Robert D. Foxwell

Publication number: 20040011275Abstract: A flexible skin 3 is fitted over a framework 20 that includes a plurality of longitudinal stringers 50-58 running the length of the bottom and sides of the kayak. Each stringer 50-58 is assembled from several elongate segments 80-85 held together by an internal shock cord. Transverse formers 10-13 separate the stringers to define the hull outline and are releasably fixable to the stringers. Bow and stem formers 10, 13 are fixed in a manner allowing them to slide longitudinally, thereby laterally spreading and tensioning the stringers 51-58. Flexible tension members 73, 74 provide longitudinal bending strength and assist in shortening the framework 20 for assembly. A block 21 inserted in a joint 30′ between adjacent segments of a stringer provides a means for locking the segments in a telescopically extended position, for expanding the framework longitudinally.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2002Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventor: Murray Frederick Broom

Publication number: 20040011276Abstract: An apparatus for folding a boat tower, including a hinge assembly and a releasable footer. The hinge assembly has two members that pivot about a pivot point. At least one spring loaded bolt, or locking pin, engages a corresponding opening in one member, thereby locking the two members in fixed relation. The releasable footer has a bolt that engages an opening, thereby locking a releasable member to the footer body.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: J & J Machine & Tool, Inc.Inventors: Thomas J. Publication number: 20040011277Abstract: A seat belt tension sensing device adapted for sensing tension in a belt securing a child's car seat in a vehicle, and comprising a housing (52) having a upper housing member (50) hingedly attached (at 54) to a lower housing member 52, and a closure catch (58) to permit the passage of a length of seat belt (36) through the housing to pass over a depressible switch (66). Within the housing is a power source (40) and alarm/indicator (41) responsive to a signal emitted by the switch (66) when actuated by the scar belt (36) passing over the switch. Sufficient belt tension may be shown by a visible indicator, while insufficient tension may be indicated by an audible alarm.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2002Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventors: F. Publication number: 20040011279Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device. The method includes forming a first doped polysilicon layer being a lower electrode on a semiconductor substrate, forming a Ta2O5 dielectric film using a carbon-free precursor and reaction gases, and forming an upper electrode on the dielectric film. As such, the Ta2O5 dielectric film is formed using a carbon-free precursor. The level of the leakage current is reduce, the insulating breakdown voltage is increased and reliability of the device is improved, particularly if the Ta2O5 dielectric thin film is used as an inter-poly dielectric material.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2002Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: Hynix Semiconductor Inc.Inventor: Kwang Chul Joo

Publication number: 20040011281Abstract: This invention provides a method for manufacturing a semiconductor using a wafer carrier: the temperature of a wafer can be uniformed and the uniformity within the surface excels with few differences of the composition distribution; a crystal is grown by forming a plurality of grooves to uniform the temperature of the wafer surface by diffusing heat, at the bottom of a wafer pocket to mount a wafer on a wafer carrier inside a crystal growth apparatus chamber; and the groove depth is deeper at the peripheral part of the wafer than at the central part thereof while the groove density is higher at the peripheral part of the wafer than at the central part thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventor: Koji Nakamura
