  • Patent number: 6702101
Abstract: A low pressure blower operated airknife having a housing with an elongated primary air discharge orifice for directing a narrow width curtain of air. The airknife includes an air-augmenting shroud which defines auxiliary discharge orifices on opposite longitudinal sides of the primary air discharge orifice such that air discharging from the primary discharge orifice creates a low pressure condition adjacent the auxiliary air discharge orifices for drawing additional air through the auxiliary discharge orifices which augments the velocity and volume of the discharging air current without the necessity for increasing the air inlet pressure or blower size. The shroud may take alternative forms, including pairs of wings disposed on opposite sides of the primary discharge orifice or hollow structures that surround the airknife housing. The airknife further is adapted for low pressure direction and application of air laden particles, such as preatomized liquid particles.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for monitoring a tubular belt conveyor system, comprising the following: a conveyor belt consisting of an elastomeric material, especially with embedded tie rods, the conveyor belt being closed to form a tubular belt by overlapping its longitudinal edges so as to form an overlap area; other system parts, i.e., a driving drum, a tail pulley, support rollers, guide rollers, supporting structures and optionally, other parts. The inventive device is characterized in that the device for monitoring the overlap area of the tubular belt is provided with an optoelectronic system. In the event of a deviation from the desired conveyor belt overlap, the optoelectronic system initiates a correction of position by means of the guiding rollers. If the corrective measures are not taken within a certain period, the tubular belt conveyor system is automatically disconnected.

The side by side stacks are simultaneously built up from the bottom by moving a carriage back and forth below a stationary bottom surface of the stacks with the strips supplied side by side through a slot in the carriage. The stacks are supported side by side as they are built up by rigid side walls of a chute or rectangular container into which the package is to be packaged for transportation. Splice tail portions extend from the strips and are supported or arranged so that they are ready for splicing when the package is completed before transportation. Transfer of the completed stacks is effected simultaneously by a slip sheet arrangement or by moving one of the belts of the carriage as an ejection belt.

Abstract: A pop-up container, including four side panels, a top panel and a floor panel constructing a close structure. At least one of the side panel has a zipper that allows the pop-up container to be open sufficiently wide such that one can easily store or access clothes in the container. The walls of the container are made of flexible and foldable material. At least two opposite panels comprise foldable perimeters with tension-loop frames so that the pop-up container can be collapsed into a flat piece and received in a carrying bag. The pop-up container further comprises a hanger bar detachably connected to the container for hanging clothes. The hanger bar may be supported from the ground to provide additional support to the hanger bar and container to prevent from bowing or buckling of the container. A method is also provided in which an enclosure is formed by un-coiling a plurality of panels each having a tension-loop frame with the panels being joined together to form the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 6702128
Abstract: A storage system including a shelf and bracket item holder where the item holder is supported upon a planar panel. The shelf has two end edges and two shelf-brackets which include a substantially circumferential flange, a receptacle portion for receiving one of the end edges of the shelf, and an upper panel catch and a lower panel catch projecting outwardly from a same side of the circumferential flange in aligned spaced relation to one another. A cantilevered lock-release latch is positioned adjacent to the lower panel-catch so as to project from an end of the circumferential flange toward the lower panel-catch. When each of the upper and lower panel-catches are inserted through and occupy a corresponding one of the perforations in the panel such that each of the lock-release tabs of the lock-release latches engages the outer surface of the perforated panel thereby deflecting the lock-release latches away from the perforated panel, the shelf and brackets are moved relative to the perforated panel.

  • Patent number: 6702132
Abstract: A method of assembling a heavy duty mobile crane having a load handling boom that has a boom base section and other component parts. The method includes positioning the component parts adjacent said crane, such as on a truck, raising the parts from the truck bed in sequence with a self-contained lifter associated with said base section, lowering and placing each part in a position adjacent ground level for connection to said crane, and then connecting the parts to the crane so as to provide a complete working crane. The method applies particularly to assembling the boom sections and connecting them to the crane. Extension sections of the boom are handled by placing them at ground level and preassembling the sections to form an upper boom, and then connecting the upper boom to the base section. The method steps are reversed to disassemble the crane. The method also includes transporting the crane to a work site with the boom base section connected to the mobile crane.

Abstract: A retortable all-plastic closure having a generally circular top portion and a generally cylindrical downwardly depending skirt. The top portion has upper and lower surfaces. The lower surface of the top portion forms a circumferentially extending ridge that projects downwardly. The ridge forms a first structural wall. A second structural wall is formed in the top portion adjacent the first wall. A flexible liner made from a thermoplastic elastomer is bonded to the lower surface. The portion of the liner covering the first structural wall forms a downwardly extending liner wall. The portion of the liner covering the second structural wall forms a top liner wall. The diameter of the downwardly extending liner wall is greater than the diameter of the top of the container neck inner wall to which the closure is applied so that the container neck compresses substantially the entirety of the downwardly projecting liner wall.
