Publication number: 20040051676Abstract: The present invention expedites cross polarization of a polarized signal from a transmitter such as a satellite. According to one method, an antenna is oriented to point to a first window to communicate with a first satellite. The antenna is peaked to find a first vector for maximum signal strength. The antenna is then oriented to point to a second window to communicate with a second satellite, and peaked to find a second vector for maximum signal strength. The first and second vectors are manipulated to obtain a third vector extending between the first and second satellites, and the appropriate skew angle for cross polarization of the antenna is derived from the third vector. Alternatively, the antenna may have two LNB's to permit peaking of the first and second satellites simultaneously. When both satellites are peaked, the antenna will automatically be disposed at the proper skew angle for cross polarization.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2003Publication date: March 18, 2004Inventors: Edward C. Publication number: 20040051712Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for interactively moving a hit point within a current triangle of the model, where the hit point defines a location of a brush stamp relative to the model, where a circle with a radius either defines the brush stamp or minimally contains the brush stamp. For each vertex of the current triangle containing the hit point, a sub-neighborhood of vertices of the model is defined by including in the sub-neighborhood vertices of the model that are within a distance of the hit point, the distance being a sum of the radius of the circle added to a length of a longest edge that is attached to the vertex. A sub-parameterization for each sub-neighborhood is then computed. The system then finds a barycentric coordinate of the hit point in the current triangle, where the barycentric coordinate has three barycentric values, each corresponding to a vertex of the current triangle.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2002Publication date: March 18, 2004Applicant: Alias/WavefrontInventor: Jerome Maillot

Publication number: 20040051716Abstract: Apparatus is provided to flare-suppress a source frame that is composed of a plurality of pixels, each pixel being represented by three components defining a position within a color space. The source frame, comprising a foreground image against a background of a substantially uniform backing color is provided to a processing means via an input means. A distance value is defined that, for any pixel, describes how close its color is to a specified color, and the processing means calculates a transformation that maximises the distance value of a selected background pixel. A flare value is then calculated for each pixel that is a function of the distance value of the corresponding transformed pixel. Compensating values are also calculated that are functions of the amounts that when added to the components of the transformed selected background pixel make its color grey.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2002Publication date: March 18, 2004Inventor: Benoit Sevigny

Publication number: 20040051717Abstract: The input image data of a plurality of n bits input from the outside via the interface means is converted into a plurality of m (m<n) bits and output so that the data can be stored in the display memory means. Therefore, by the image conversion means, a dither signal corresponding to a position, at which the input image data is designated by a line and row on the display memory means, is generated, and the thus generated dither signal is added to the input image data, and the upper m bits of the image data, to which the dither signal is added, is output. Therefore, it is possible to provide a display unit in which image conversion by the dither method can be processed in real time according to a transmission stream of image data input from the outside without increasing a processing load given to MPU.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2003Publication date: March 18, 2004Applicant: Rohm Co., LtdInventor: Takashi Naiki
