  • Patent number: 6722695
Abstract: An airbag has a slit group arranged in a flexible peripheral wall. The slit group is formed by arranging a plurality of slits intermittently along one line. As an inflating gas flows into the airbag so that the internal pressure of the airbag rises, a portion designed to rupture between the slits ruptures to open a vent hole in the area of the slit group for discharging the inflating gas. At the peripheral edges of the individual slits of the peripheral wall, there are portions which are solidified after melting. In this airbag, the shape holdability is retained at the peripheral edges of the slits. Therefore, the effective area and the opening timing of the vent hole is uniform for every airbag.

  • Patent number: 6722710
Abstract: A lock for a door comprises a casing, a bolt, a pivoted operation handle, operable to retract the bolt, a locking member to deadlock the bolt against retraction, and a unitary spring steel connecting member between the handle and the locking member. The connecting member has a central coil around a rod which acts as a pivot for the locking member and one end of the connecting member is cranked to engage in a recess of the locking member. The other end of the connecting member is shaped such that when engaged by the handle, as the handle is pivoted to retract the bolt, it transmits a force to the end at the locking member to overcome the force of a spring holding the locking member against the bolt, thereby to release the deadlocking and allow bolt retraction.

  • Patent number: 6722711
Abstract: A locking arrangement is for a receptacle and cover with overlapping parts and aligned holes through the overlapping part. A bolt extends into at least one of the holes with a handle at one end of the bolt for pulling the bolt out of the aligned holes in a withdrawing direction. An expansion mechanism at an opposite end of the bolt expands to prevent withdrawing the bolt. The mechanism has a contracted geometry for allowing withdrawing of the bolt. An actuator mounted for movement to the bolt is pushed to contract and unlock the mechanism. A spring biases the expansion mechanism toward the expanded geometry so that when the actuator is not being pushed, the expansion mechanism is in the expanded geometry to lock the cover to the receptacle.
