Abstract: A method of adjusting or locally modifying the direction of magnetization of a ferromagnetic layer in a magnetoresistive layer system using a heat stamp is described, the ferromagnetic layer being stabilized over an antiferromagnetic layer. The antiferromagnetic layer is heated, using a heat stamp, over a threshold temperature, above which the influence of this layer on the direction of magnetization of the adjacent ferromagnetic layer disappears; subsequently, the ferromagnetic layer is exposed to an external magnetic field of a predefined direction, and finally the antiferromagnetic layer is cooled again below the threshold temperature. In addition, a heat stamp having a base body and a heatable stamp structure connected to the base body and matching the dimensions of or similar to the magnetoresistive layer system is described.

Abstract: A high frequency, low loss, power, laminated magnetic material includes alternating magnetic plates of low hysteresis loss material and electrically insulating films. The multi-layer structure allows for independently and simultaneously controlling and reducing hysteresis loss and eddy current loss, and maintaining a high resistivity, while operating at high frequencies and at high flux density levels, resulting in extremely low net loss density for the composite material. Methods of making this material include co-firing of the magnetic plates and thin insulating films, making the magnetic plates (of low hysteresis material, such as a ferrite) and insulating films separately, and using heat and/or pressure and/or adhesive or making a stack of magnetic plates with spacers in between them and dipping in a molten or liquid insulating material.

Abstract: A method of mounting electronic parts, on a wiring board, is provided in which a bare chip is bonded to connecting pads via thin solder layers by means of flip chip bonding and at least another soldered part is soldered to a mounting pad on the board via a thin solder layer. First, adhesive resin layers are formed on the connecting pads and the mounting pad. Solder particles are scattered so that the solder particles temporarily adhere to the connecting pads and the mounting pad. The soldering part is put on the mounting pad and a reflow process is conducted so that the solder particles are made to reflow to pre-coat the connecting pads with a thin solder layer and, simultaneously, the soldered part is mounted on the mounting pad via solder. Finally, the bare chip is positioned on the thin solder layer of the connecting pads and a flip-chip bonding process is conducted by which the bare chip is flip-chip bonded to the connecting pads.

Abstract: A clothes dryer has a rear panel and an exhaust vent passing through the rear panel. The exhaust vent is adapted to be connected with a flexible venting hose. The spacer is pivotally mounted to the rear panel of the clothes dryer for movement between an upright shipping position extending adjacent the dryer rear panel and a lowered position extending out and away from the dryer rear panel for maintaining a predetermined distance between the rear panel of the dryer and a room wall adjacent to which the clothes dryer is adapted to be positioned. The spacer has a cover member which is adapted to at least partially cover the exhaust vent when the spacer is in the upright position to prevent connection of a flexible venting hose to the dryer exhaust vent. The spacer of the present invention insures that a predetermine distance is maintained between the rear panel of the dryer and a room wall adjacent to which the dryer is positioned so as to prevent kinking of the flexible heating hose.

Abstract: Footwear having a ventilated sole system to cool the foot is provided. The footwear includes a generally horizontal sole having an outer sole and an insole providing a surface adjacent the foot. The footwear also includes an air flow pump positioned between the outer sole and the insole. The air flow pump includes a generally horizontal tubular pump element extending generally transverse of the footwear from a medial side of the sole to a lateral side of the sole. The pump element defines an interior volume and has opposite ends open to ambient air. The pump element also has a plurality of holes therein providing fluid communication between the interior volume and the surface adjacent the foot. The pump element is resiliently compressible in a generally vertical direction upon impact of the footwear during walking or running and expansible upon liftoff causing ambient air to flow through the holes in the pump elements to cool the foot.

Abstract: A lacing system having a lace loop that forms multiple segments that extend from a strap and criss-cross each other in an adjustable opening. The lace is threaded through eyelets of a sneaker, in such a manner that, a single arcuate pull on the strap(s), causes the multiple lace segments to move through the eyelets of the sneaker opening in unison, so that the entire length of the opening contracts simultaneously. This pull also lifts the entire arch area, thus providing better support. The lace segments converge at the strap(s), near the ankle, thus providing better support at the ankle. Additional lace segments could be disposed above the arch to provide better arch support. A strap or fastening member may attach to the sneaker by either a ratchet buckle, clasp, hook, snap, clamp, or locking tape such as hook-and-loop. The sneaker opens to its' maximum width, automatically when the user steps out.

Abstract: Disclosed is a shoe sole comprising an outer sole 1F, 1B, a midsole 2 and a reinforcement device 4 made of a resin plate. The reinforcement device 4 is firmly secured to the underside of an arch portion 2M of the midsole 2. At a medial side 11 and a lateral side 10 of the foot, the reinforcement device 4 is shaped like an arch between separated outer sole parts 1F and 1B. A medial foot portion 43 of the reinforcement device 4 is formed to have a higher hardness than a lateral foot portion 40 of the reinforcement device 4. This allows the reinforcement device 4 to have a greater flexural rigidity in its medial foot portion 43 than in its lateral foot portion 40.

Abstract: A snowplow assembly comprises a lift frame and A-frame operably pivotally connected together and an actuator operably connected between the lift frame and A-frame for effecting relative pivotal movement between the lift frame and A-frame. A plow blade includes a blade frame. The blade frame includes a tube of circular cross section which is operably pivotally connected to the A-frame. The tube is pivotally received by a quadrant, which is operably connected to the A-frame. A resilient element is operable between the blade frame and A-frame normally biasing a lower edge of the plow blade forwardly. The resilient element is an elastomeric loop. The pivotal connection of the plow blade to the A-frame in combination with the resilient element provides a trip function of the plow blade. The plow blade is a composite. The circular tube of the blade frame provides torsional stiffness to the composite blade.
