Abstract: Generally, in one embodiment, a license mounting plate, configured for adapting to a vehicle, comprises a mounting member, a license holding member and holding members. The mounting member is designed to attach to a rear of a vehicle. The license holding member is designed to hold a license plate. The holding members are adapted to securely support a pair of turn signals.

Abstract: Improved ear tag formed by two parts, a tap part (1) and a socket part (2), wherein a capsule for medicinal substances and a piston (4) are incorporated and the stem of the tap part (6) passes through the ear of the animal (5). Catadioptric elements (7) a reading and writing chip and anti-falsification elements are placed on both parts and with the elements so that the pincer or tong parts permit placing the crottle (8 and 9).

Abstract: An assembly for exhibiting displays, such as logos, fanciful designs or messages on a clothing apparel. The assembly includes an appliqué having a flexible front layer provided with an opening and a back layer affixed to and extending across the opening of the front layer. The assembly further includes a rigid display securely positioned within the opening of the appliqué. The assembly can be attached to clothing apparel, including a cap and visor by stitching or sewing the appliqué to the clothing apparel. A headgear having an assembly exhibiting a display is also provided.

Abstract: A rotary imaging device has a hollow body. A wall of the body is formed with a window. An interior of the body has a stopping piece protruding from the wall. An outer side of the rotary shaft is installed with a rotary shaft mounted within the body. A periphery of the rotary shaft has a plurality of sheets with figures being depicted or printed thereon. The rotary shaft is driven to rotate the sheets along a predetermined orientation; and outer ends of the sheets resist against the stopping piece so as to stop intermittently to present an effect as playing movies. Music machine center or chip can be added to the rotary imaging device so as to present image and music at the same time. Furthermore, a pen sharpener can be added to the rotary imaging device.

Abstract: A store display enabling improved structure, versatility, adaptability and/or cost effectiveness is provided. The store display includes a base sheet and a frame. The base sheet is preferably fabricated independently of the frame. The frame is preferably extruded. The base sheet is preferably molded (e.g., injection molded or extruded) and then cut to a desired size. After the sheet is formed, engaging tabs are punched along the side edge sheet. The frame includes a receiving channel having tangs that engage the engaging tabs.

Abstract: A badge and notebook display method and apparatus worn about a user's neck having a moveable front transparent pocket including a slot therein for accommodating a badge to be selectively displayed, a rigid rear panel resting against the user, notebook pages disposed therebetween, and a necklace connected to the pocket, panel and notebook pages, the pocket, panel and notebook pages also being connected to one another. The front panel is moveable between a first position displaying the information on the front of a badge and covering an underlying page and a second position concealing the front of the badge and displaying the underlying page. The underlying page may be a notebook page or a moveable protective cover page disposed in between the pocket and notebook pages which is moved to reveal another underlying page, typically a notebook page, before writing on the notebook page occurs. The pocket is disposed in the second position to allow for writing on the notebook pages.

Abstract: A screen border has a plurality of chambers that are arranged around the perimeter of the border. The chambers are adapted to receive appearance-changing objects, such as image-bearing strips or decorative, three-dimensional objects, therein. Appearance-changing objects may be easily inserted into and withdrawn from the interior of the chambers through access areas provided on the border. The border may be integrally formed into a housing, or it may be removably or permanently attached to an existing housing. A hinged connection may be incorporated into the construction of the border so that the border may be temporarily pivoted away from the screen to allow a user to gain access to controls or the like positioned behind the border.

Abstract: A knife/bayonet device is provided which is useful as both a knife and as a bayonet adapted to be mounted on a barrel portion, e.g., muzzle brake, of a rifle having a groove therein. The device includes an integral knife/bayonet component including a hollow handle portion and a blade. The handle portion is adapted to fit onto the barrel portion of the rifle and includes a locking groove having an opening therein extending through the handle portion. A locking ring received in the locking groove includes a detent portion adapted to extend through the opening in the locking groove to engage in the groove in the barrel portion of the rifle and thereby secure the knife/bayonet component to the rifle. A multi-purpose butt cap is adapted to be received in one end of the handle portion, and a storage canister is adapted to be affixed to the butt cap.

Abstract: A range finder for hunting applications. In one embodiment, a method of using a range finder is disclosed. The method comprises coupling the range finder to a weapon having an associated scope. Positioning at least part of a display of the range finder in front of a select portion of the associated scope. Activating the range finder. Determining the distance to a target and displaying the distance to the target through optics of the scope.

Abstract: A method of fishing, including the steps of catching a fish; determining data, the data including at least one member selected from the group of: angler's name, location, time, date, length of fish, girth of fish, weight of fish, variety of fish, lure and notes; recording the data on a tag, the tag being a laminated tag; selectively sticking the tag to the fish; photographing the tag and the fish; removing the tag without injuring the fish; and returning the fish to the water.

Abstract: A method and a device for detection of physical or approximately physical bottom contact for objects, for instance fishing tackles, which are dragged closely above or on a sea bottom, said method consisting of sensoring an alteration of a force acting on a tension sensor (4) as a consequence of a mass (7) coupled to the tension sensor (4) coming into physical contact with tha bottom, said alteration being used as indication of bottom contact, and that frictional forces (F2) being due to the dragging of the mass (7) along the bottom mainly are taken up by means of a tension release means (8). The device comprise the mass (7) being suspended in a tension sensor (4) in such a manner that the sensor (4) is actuated by bottom contact, and at least one tension release means (8) connected to the mass (7) and adapted to take up forces caused by dragging of the mass above the bottom.

Abstract: An apparatus for mounting and actuating a fishing rod. The apparatus is secured to a fixed surface such as a dock, boat railing or beach or ice surface, and a fishing rod is fixedly mounted at its handle portion in a conventional fishing position. The apparatus includes a powerful spring which is maintained in a wound and latched position whereby when a fish bites the bait at the end of the line, the resulting tug on the line releases the latch and the unwinding of the spring rapidly rotates the fishing rod upwardly about is handle portion. This rapid upward movement serves to seat the hook into the fish to ensure a successful retrieval and further serves to alert the fisherman of a bite, especially when the rod is unattended.

Abstract: A modular hookless lure system is provided having a plurality of lure module elements. Each said lure module elements has a proximal end opposite a distal end, a tie eye affixed at the proximal end and a snap swivel affixed at the distal end. Functional lure element are supported on a wire between the two ends. Each tie eye can be attached to any existing fishing line and any said snap swivel can be removably attached to any selected hook of choice or any other said tie eye.

Abstract: My device will work on all types of freshwater and saltwater fishing. It will inhance and improve the sport of fishing hooking more fish and at the same time featuring a novelty tip-up action. When it's windy, you will be able to cast further because of the ⅜ oz egg sinker opposite slotted tab. Upon landing in the water it remains vertical until the sinker pulls it down and stops at fixed depth because of bobber stop. It will always work this way. You know it's set when in horizontal position when BB on bobber stop slides towards hole then it releases line to fish freely giving them time with no inhibitors or tug from flotation of bobber to take bait more readily. By always having an open bail or release mechanism on reel after casting out in water fish can take bait naturally no drag of a bobber and run with the bait hook and most of the time.

Abstract: A small animal trap has a base. The first end of the base has a horizontal support bar and a pair of loops. A trapping spring has a first beam coupled between the loops of the base, a second beam with a fixed end and a free end, and a coil continuous with the first beam and the fixed end of the second beam and coupled to the second end of the bar. In an active state the trapping spring is compressed and when expanded it is at rest. A retention device coupled to the loop includes an activation fork with a hoop end and a pronged end and also includes a retention pin. The hoop end is adapted to hold the retention pin with the free end of the second beam and the pronged end extending into the loops.

Abstract: A modular pest control system which includes structure that is specifically designed to capitalize upon the physiology and/or behavior of a wide assortment of pests to render the system more attractive to the pests. The system is modular in nature whereby it may be configured as desired or necessary to target any combination of one or more species of pests. The modular system preferably includes, at minimum, a first component in the form of a pest control device that may be releasably connectable to a second component. The first component may contain one or more materials or structural features for controlling any individual species or combinations of species of ground crawling pests, termites and rodents. The second component may be a releasable base for securing the first component to vegetation, building surfaces and materials, or targeted areas of soil.

The decorative cover is formed from a sheet of material having a design indicia, the sheet of material having an opening extending therethrough wherein the opening is offset from a central portion of the sheet of material in a direction generally away from the indicia bearing portion of the sheet of material.

Abstract: A pot cover constructed such that a decoration can be included on the pot cover and the integrity of the decoration is maintained because the configuration of the pot cover does not result in the formation of arbitrary overlapping folds. The configuration of the pot cover allows a flower pot to be covered while the integrity of the decoration, such as a design or pattern, printed on each segment is maintained so that a decoration is presented throughout the outer peripheral surface of the formed pot cover.

Abstract: A micro component steam reformer system for producing hydrogen-enriched gas to power a fuel cell adapted for scalable power requirements. The steam reformer system uses a cycle in which, in laminar flow modules, a vaporized hydrocarbon is mixed with fuel cell off gas having a hydrogen component and combusted to heat vaporizers and a steam reformer. Vaporized hydrocarbons and water vapor are introduced as a feed stock into the steam reformer to produce a syn-gas, which is cooled and purified. The resulting principally hydrogen gas may be introduced into a hydrogen fuel cell. Off gas from the fuel cell is recycled to provide hydrogen and water for use in the system cycle.

The base portion defines a base cavity and an aperture extending from the base cavity to a groove extending along the outer surface of the base portion. The aperture is adapted to receive a post fastener, while the groove is adapted to receive a radial stop of the post fastener in a recessed position. The base portion includes first and second lips that are received within clip portions provided by a clip. The seal is secured to the peripheral surface of the door such that a first portion of the seal is attached to the door with the clips while a second portion of the seal is attached to the door with the post fasteners.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure and manufacturing method of an abrasive article. In this method, a base layer is first formed to affix abrasive particles on a substrate. Gaps between the abrasive particles are then filled with corrosion-resistant particles and a fixation layer is formed to affix the corrosion particles on the base layer. Further, a binding layer is formed on the base layer. Finally, the substrate, the base layer and the fixation layer are removed to expose the abrasive particles, and the binding layer is the bottom of the abrasive article formed thereby. An abrasive surface formed by the abrasive particles is at about the same level. The binding layer surrounding the abrasive particles form a concave surface and increase adhesion.

Abstract: A connector and method of using the connector for making a structural connection between two structural members joined at an angle. The connector is bent in the field to allow the connector to be used in both left-hand and right-hand connections. The connector is preferably formed from metal with an integral gusset at the longitudinal line of juncture. The connector is preferably attached to the structural members by a plurality of fasteners. The gusset reinforces the connection against forces acting perpendicular to the longitudinal line of juncture and the plurality of fasteners reinforce the connection against angular displacement of the structural members perpendicular to the longitudinal line of juncture.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pre-cast panel form insert used in precast construction. The insert comprises a substantially planar portion defining dimensions suitable to complement dimensions of a pre-cast panel form and a fluid diverting portion. The fluid diverting portion is configured to define a fluid-diverting recess in an edge face of a pre-cast panel bounded by a form including the form insert. The fluid diverting portion is configured such that said fluid diverting recess defines, a circular cross-sectional profile, or a multi-angular cross-sectional profile, that impedes the flow of water along said pre-cast panel edge face when said edge face assumes a substantially horizontal orientation.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a moment resistance intensified structure with supporting members and a method for intensifying the moment resisting capability. The respective supporting member at an end thereof is attached to a supported member and another end thereof is a moment resisting connection with the supported member to be joined to connection elements at structural moment resisting connection. When the structure is subjected to a load, the supported member occurs deflection due to enduring a bending moment and the supporting member and the supported member generate an action to each other to intensify the moment resisting capability of the frame at the joint. A moment resisting structure having the supporting members can be utilized in a building or bridge of steel structure or reinforced concrete structure or other moment resisting structure or implements.

Abstract: A block plank for building wooden walls, formed of a plurality of block planks (6, 7) located horizontally one above the other, of houses and other buildings is proposed which on its lower bearing face (8) has a wedge-shaped longitudinal slit (3) that tapers toward the heart (2) of the block plank (6, 7). The method of the invention for producing such block planks (6, 7) with a low wood moisture provides that the logs (1) used, before the drying operation, are provided with at least one longitudinal slit (3) extending as far as the heart (2) of the respective log (1); that the logs (1) are then dried in a drying chamber to a moisture content of less than 15%, preferably to a moisture content of 11%; and that the logs (1) are then sawn to the desired size of block plank.

Abstract: The panels and mullions of a curtain wall are attached to the frame of the building enclosed by the curtain wall with anchors which permit the frame to shift horizontally and vertically relative to the curtain wall so that the frame and the curtain wall can experience different degrees of racking. Each anchor includes a base member and a displaceable member located in front of the base member. Both members have keyways and are coupled together with a horizontal key that engages the members at their keyways, allowing the displaceable member to shift horizontally relative to the building frame, but preventing it from pulling away from the base member. Each anchor also has a mullion clamp which is attached firmly to one of the mullions. It has a vertical keyway where it is engaged by a key on the displaceable member, thus permitting vertical displacement of the mullion relative to the building frame.

Abstract: A wood rot preventer for use between two intersecting portions of lumber, and having a preventer for attachment over the upper edge of a lower portion of lumber, the preventer having a web overlying the upper edge of the lumber, and in some cases having side walls, an upper surface of the web having convex profile with a central apex and sloping side portions forming surfaces extending outwardly on each side of the apex. In one embodiment the preventer has continuously curved side edges extending outwardly from the edges of the lumber to a width greater than the width of the lumber to carry moisture away from the lumber and allow it to drip downwardly. In another embodiment the preventer may have side walls extending down partially over each side of the piece of lumber. Also disclosed is a coil of an extended length of the wood rot preventer.

Abstract: A self-cleaning flooring system for catching waste products has at least one module comprising a drain pan and a floor grid. The drain pan has a ramp and a central drain outlet. The ramp extends around the drain pan defining a drain pan periphery. The ramp slopes downward from the drain pan periphery towards the drain outlet. The drain pan periphery has a plurality of discharge ports spaced therealong for discharge of flushing fluid onto the ramp such that the waste products are washed down the ramp towards the drain outlet. The floor grid extends across the drain pan and is mounted upon the drain pan periphery for supporting personnel standing thereon while permitting waste products to pass therethrough.

Abstract: A floor assembly includes a number of spaced apart horizontal support members to which a number of elongated flooring members are attached. The flooring members have features allowing their use in two versions of the floor assembly. In a first version, the flooring members are attached to the support members by clamping blocks having tabs extending over strips extending along opposite sides of the flooring members, which have outer walls extending downward and inward to provide space for the blocks. In a second version, the flooring members are attached by downward extending latching arms that engage upward extending latching arms of clips fastened to the support members.

Abstract: A laminated shingle has a horizontal longitudinal orientation, and includes a first overlay sheet having a series of horizontally extending tabs and cutouts. Each tab has a front edge. An underlay sheet includes more than one section, and each section has a vertical length relative to a back edge of the underlay sheet. The vertical lengths of at least some of the sections differ from each other, and each section has a front edge and is associated with one or more tabs of the overlay sheet. The underlay sheet is laminated beneath the first overlay sheet. The front edge of each section of the underlay sheet is substantially aligned vertically with the front edge of its associated one or more tabs of the overlay sheet.

Abstract: The device is formed of a strand of flexible material that is helically coiled in the form of a preformed elongated member having adjacent coils removably bonded together. In using the device, the preformed member is embedded in concrete when in a wet state with one end of the preformed member extending at or close to the surface of the concrete. After the concrete has solidified, the end of the preformed member is pulled to break the bonds between adjacent coils to lengthen and reduce the diameter of the member to allow the strand to be removed from the concrete to form an aperture in the concrete from the surface.

Abstract: An improved connector formed with a seat member that is stiffened by first and second reinforcing flanges that extend around first and second corners at either end of a third edge of the seat member, the first and second reinforcing flanges being connected to the third edge and to first and second edges that intersect with the third edge, the fist and second edges also having side members connected to the seat member. When used as a hanger, the connector includes a seat member, first and second backwall members which are connected to the supporting girder and first and second side members connected to the supported trusses. A flange member integrally connected to the seat provides further connection when a jack truss is supported.

Abstract: A tile application system having a trim guide and a field guide. The trim guide has a first, second, and third side, a a registration channel adjacent to the first side and perpendicular to the second side, a terminal end on the first side having a distance V from the second side. The field guide has a base, a first and second wall extending from the base, and a registration channel between each wall. Each wall has a length V from the base and a thickness X. The registration channels of each guide has a width Y. A leveler with a ledge of a thickness Y is insertable into any registration channel for aligning the guides vertically or horizontally or both. A support for the leveler has a channel and an extending ledge each with a width Y to accept the leveler and to insert into any registration channel.

Abstract: Described is a covering element for buildings comprising at least one, preferably fixedly arranged support apparatus and at least one film pillow that displays two outer film layers, between which is formed at least one hollow space closed in a gastight manner and containing gas, especially air, and displays a fastening section in which the two outer film layers are connected to each other and by which section the film pillow is anchored to the support apparatus. The special aspect of this covering element for buildings consists in the fact that at least one thermally insulating element is arranged in the fastening section of the film pillow and in the fact that the two outer film layers are spaced apart from each other by the thermally insulating element and thereby rest upon the latter.

Abstract: A spacer frame bar for insulated windows or other insulated glass panels. The bar includes an elongate tubular spacer member having first and second side webs for engaging first and second glass panes in spaced relationship, and upper and lower webs spanning from the first side web to the second side web, each side web being formed of a yieldable material and having at least one corrugation that defines a vertically spaced gap, so that in response to bending of the spacer frame bar about the upper web the gaps of the corrugations collapse so as to reduce a height of the spacer bar and thereby reduce the distance by which the lower web is stretched at an outside radius of the bend.

Abstract: A teartape (10) comprises a base film (12) of monoaxially oriented polypropylene, having on an upper side thereof a coating (14) of release agent, and having on a lower side thereof a coating of pressure sensitive adhesive (16). A printed image (18), in particular a fiscal indicium, is formed on the base film (12), which image extends substantially for the full width of the tape (10). A stripe (20) is printed on the base film (12), which stripe is narrower than the tape (10). The base film, adhesive (16) and release layer (14) are transparent so that the image (18) and strip (20) may be viewed through the tape. The image (10) is preferably complex and multicoloured, so as to be difficult to reproduce by a would-be counterfeiter.

Abstract: A method and device for forming groups of products, whereby a substantially continuous input succession of products is fed to an input of an endless conveyor, which has a conveying branch and a return branch extending between the input and an output, and which has a variable speed drive member operated to impart a variable speed to the conveyor at the input, and to generate, along the conveying branch, a succession of equally spaced on-line gaps defining a succession of groups of products; the conveying and return branches are both engaged by a powered compensating device for varying the lengths of the conveying and return branches in complementary manner, so as to maintain a constant speed of the conveyor at the output and compensate for any gaps in the input succession.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for covering a flower pot with a sheet of material. The apparatus includes a supporting platform, a pot receiving opening formed through the supporting platform and a plurality of forming members radially arranged around the pot receiving opening. The plurality of forming members are designed and disposed such that upon insertion of the flower pot and the sheet of material into the pot receiving opening the forming members pivot in a downward direction and form the sheet of material around an outer peripheral surface of the flower pot. The forming members are also upwardly biased so as to assist in ejecting the covered flower pot in an upward direction from the pot receiving opening.

Abstract: A vial closing machine includes an indexed mechanism to facilitate movement of vial fixtures between a plurality stations—loading, filling, sealing, and unloading; integration of a filler and manifold system, to dispense a pharmaceutical product equally into each of the vials; an electrical enclosure containing a programmable logic controller or a series of timers to control filler, sealing mechanism, indexer movement; a moveable heat sealing device providing pressure against an opposing respective device which creates pressured system required for sealing process; a material flattener, attached to the moveable heat sealing device, used to pre-flatten a vial below a sealing area in order to create a reliable seal without damaging the integrity of the vial material; and a means for removing filled and sealed vials from vial fixture. The vial closing machine may be one of two types—a Ferris wheel design type or a stadium design type.

Abstract: A method of making a resealable package is provided. The method comprises providing an assembly that has a header section and a closure mechanism comprising first and second closure profiles constructed and arranged to selectively interlock. The method further includes providing a package comprising first and second panel sections joined together to define an enclosed region, first and second opposite side edges, a bottom and a mouth that provides access to the enclosed region. Finally, the method comprises attaching the assembly to the package such that the header section is attached to the closure mechanism at a point between the closure profiles and the bottom of the package.

Abstract: An apparatus for filling containers (B) with articles (P2), has a filling station (6), a container conveyor (3) by means of which containers (B) which are to be filled are fed into the filling station (6), at least one article conveyor (2) for conveying the articles (P2) into a region of the filling station (6), and at least one filling unit (7) by means of which a filling space of the containers (B) which are to be filled is filled with the fed articles (P2) in the filling station (6). The apparatus has filling aids (4, 5), at least in the region of the filling station (6), for at least some of the containers (B), the filling aids deforming these containers (B) before they are filled in the filling station (6) or enlarging the filling openings thereof or forming filling guides for these containers (B). This easily allows containers (B) to be completely filled even if the containers (B) have been transported in the partially filled state.

Abstract: The closure system of the present invention includes a pressure pad of conventional design which is urged against the external surfaces of a plurality of loosely associated overlying prefolded end side wall portions of the bottom end of a carton blank which is disposed on a mandrel which includes a backup pad disposed within the carton and contiguous to the internal surfaces of the prefolded end side wall portions to thereby capture the prefolded end side wall portions between the pressure pad and the backup pad.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for populating transport tapes with electronic components includes a mold support having at least one recess over which a flat plastic strip is disposed. A heater heats the mold support and/or the plastic strip in an area of the recesses. An embossing tool, which has the electronic component in its embossing area, together with the electronic component, is embossed into the plastic strip in the direction of the recess into the mold support to form a tape pocket.

Abstract: A quick release designed as a safety tool for heelers participating in the sport of team roping. During the history of team roping numerous heelers have cut off fingers and hands, when wrapping the rope around the horn of their saddle in an effort to pull the rope tight around the steer's hind legs. This quick release was designed to eliminate the daily (wrapping the rope around the horn) process. The quick release strap is wrapped around the saddle horn and buckled into place. The end of the rope is placed in the loop of the quick release. After the steer is roped, the heeler pulls on the release and the rope is freed. Thus eliminating any chance of fingers or hands being caught between the rope and the horn. For added safety, the rope can be release wither it is tight or loose.

Abstract: A novel cyclone is disclosed that is effective for separating, from a contaminated gas stream, solid particulates having diameters as low as 4 to 5 microns. When multiple cyclones of the present invention are affixed between upper and lower tube sheets in a separator device, fine particle removal is possible to the extent required 1) by stringent regulations governing particulate emissions into the atmosphere, or 2) to prevent damage to turbine blades in downstream power recovery equipment. The cyclones are especially relevant to the problem of removing catalyst fines from refinery effluents, most notably fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) regenerator flue gas. The cyclone separation efficiency is enhanced through the use of 1) a uni-directional flow of gas from the contaminated gas inlet to the clean gas outlet and 2) discharge openings on the surface of the cyclone body that allow ejection of solid particulates.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a window mounted biological and chemical contamination filter system consisting of a window mounted fan system connected to one or more standard biological and chemical gas mask cartridges affixed to the portion of the window unit extending out to the outside of the window where it is installed.
