  • Patent number: 6742737
Abstract: A fishing line feeder spool support comprises a pair of flexible arms which are adapted to grip a fishing rod ahead of a fishing reel mounted thereon. The feeder spool support comprises a threaded shaft which rotatably supports a spool of fishing line while the fishing line is installed onto the fishing reel through the operation of the reel crank. A flanged nut is threaded onto the shaft to hold the spool. The line tension can be adjusted by tightening the flanged nut against the spool, thereby adjusting the pulling force needed to remove line from the supply spool. A crankable supply spool can also be installed on the shaft to remove and store fishing line from the fishing reel for later replacement on the reel.

  • Patent number: 6742738
Abstract: A recording tape cartridge which can enable size-reduction of a drive device. A substantially rectangular case rotatably accommodates a single reel on which a recording tape is wound. An opening, for drawing out a leader member attached to an end portion of the tape, is formed by cutting away a corner portion of the case at a side of loading into a drive device. A covering member, which is formed to be substantially circular arc-shaped in plan view, moves on a predetermined circular circumference at a side wall portion which is parallel with a drive device loading direction, to open and close the opening. An operation portion protrudes from the covering member and is operated by an opening member provided at the drive device. The operation member moves through the position of a movement path of the covering member that is closest to the side wall in plan view.

  • Patent number: 6742740
Abstract: A hose cart combining the features of an off-set handle, to permit any easier retrieval of paid out hose, a hose tracker, to permit hose to be neatly wound onto a reel, and a storage system comprising a protective housing, to provide storage and protection for a hose kept within, is provided. The invention includes the use of a crank to turn a reel which causes paid out hose to be drawn into the protective box onto a reel. The use of a plurality of gears permits the crank to be offset from the center of the reel, such that it is elevated to a more convenient cranking position. Further, the use of gears permits the same movement of the crank, which causes hose to be collected, causes a hose guide to move laterally, along the axis of the reel, such that hose is neatly layered onto the reel.

  • Patent number: 6742743
Abstract: An aircraft seat includes a seat cushion and a seat back. The seat cushion has a rear portion along the seat back and a front portion of complementary shape to the rear portion to form a complete seat cushion. The rear portion moves between a raised position and a lowered position. A coupling arrangement connects the front portion to the rear portion so that when the front portion is in the raised position along the seat back the front portion is in the lowered position, in which at least part of it is retracted under the rear portion. When the rear portion is in its lowest position along the seat back the front portion is in a raised, advanced position at the same height as the rear portion to form therewith the seat cushion of the seat for receiving a seated passenger.

  • Patent number: 6742745
Abstract: This invention solves problems associated with prior-art soft-dock mechanisms by placing all active components of a soft-dock system on the chaser side of the mechanism, leaving the target side of the mechanism completely passive (i.e., requiring no power expenditure or self-actuated moving parts to operate). In particular, the active components are supported on the end of a flexible cable attached to the probe, or chaser, side of the device. These components act as a sort of spring-loaded “trap.” Once the end of the probe passes into a receptacle on the target side, the mechanism is triggered, engaging it in such a way that it can no longer be pulled out of the receptacle until it is reset.

  • Patent number: 6742747
Abstract: The auger stand includes a vertical cavity (a “holding container”) adapted to receive the auger, and to hold it in a substantially vertical position which facilitates the connection and disconnection to and from a tractor. When the auger is held upright in a vertical position, a single operator may connect the boom assembly and the drive shaft of the auger assembly to appropriate connections carried by the tractor. This can be done without lifting the weight of the auger as would be necessary if the auger is placed in a horizontal position when disconnected. After use, the auger may be disconnected from the tractor and maintained in an upright position, relieving the operator from the task of having to lower the auger to the ground.

  • Patent number: 6742756
Abstract: This invention is a pivot assembly 10 that connects mirror head 11 and a mirror mounting bracket 12 of a rear vision mirror that comprises a spigot 17, a plate 14 with an aperture 26 that is journalled to the spigot 17. A detent is located between the plate 14 and the spigot 17 which holds these components together to in turn hold the mirror head 11 in at least one required position with respect to the mirror mounting bracket 12. The detent changes from a locked position where the plate 14 is held with respect to the spigot 17 to a disengaged position when the plate 14 is rotated with respect to the spigot 17. A spring 40 acts against the detent to hold it in its locked position. The spring 40 yields to allow the detent to move to its disengaged position as the plate 14 is rotated with respect to the spigot 17. An attachment mechanism is provided both on the spigot 17 and the plate 14 that allows the spigot 17 to be secured to either one of the mirror head 11 or mirror mounting bracket 12.

  • Patent number: 6742772
Abstract: The invention relates to a carbonating device for charging a liquid with a pressurized gas. Carbonating devices of this type are generally used for adding carbon dioxide or CO2 to tap water or so-called still water. According to the invention, the pivotal filling device can be locked into a so-called pivotal position in a manner that makes the inventive carbonating device easier to handle than commercially available carbonating devices. The invention provides that the pivotal filling device can be firstly brought into the pivotal position and locked in place by using one hand. Afterwards, the water bottle can be clamped or screwed onto the filling device by using both hands. Together with the water bottle, the filling device is then released from its locked position and placed into the so-called filling position.

Abstract: A reactor produces a gas-in-liquid emulsion for providing increased interfacial contact area between the liquid and the gas for improved reaction of the gas with the liquid, or more rapid solution or reaction of a difficulty soluble or immiscible gas in or with a liquid. The reactor is suitable for a continuous or batch type process. Rotor and stator cylindrical members are mounted for rotation relative to one another and have opposing surfaces spaced to form an annular processing passage. The gap distance between the opposing surfaces and the relative rotation rate of the cylindrical members are such as to form a gas-in-liquid emulsion of the gas in the liquid. The liquid and gas pass through the processing passage, changing into the gas-in-liquid emulsion.

  • Patent number: 6742778
Abstract: The invention provides for an improved signature hopper loader for feeding signatures to a hopper on a binding line. The hopper loader includes two conveyor assemblies that work together to feed signatures to the hopper. The first conveyor assembly is connected to the second conveyor assembly such that there is an angle in the range of 110-120 degrees between the first and second conveyor assemblies. The first and second conveyor assemblies also include forming guides that serve to fan, or deblock, the signatures that are traveling along the first or second conveyor assembly. As the signatures travel over the forming guides, they are bent to give the signatures rigidity and to further facilitate deblocking. The hopper loader further includes an opposing belt that is held on top of at least a portion of one of the transporting belts. The opposing belt is hinged to the frame of the hopper loader and preferably swings down on top of the center belt in the second conveyor.

Abstract: Improved Baccarat Game methods and a device for playing the games are set forth wherein players each make a wager and are dealt a two-card hand of cards. A Banker hand is dealt with two cards face down and a third card face up. Players can receive a third card to better their hand value, modulo ten. After all players have completed their hands, the Banker hand is completed based upon established rules which may or may not include the third, exposed Banker card. According to another embodiment the Banker may receive a third and fourth card face up and eliminate the higher of the two. If the banker is entitled to use a third card, the remaining card is summed with the other two Banker cards. Each Player hand and the Banker hand are compared in a manner similar to Baccarat.
