  • Patent number: 6748851
Abstract: A food-cooking vessel has a bottom plate and an upwardly extending continuous sidewall. A spigot assembly is secured to the sidewall above the bottom plate to allow draining of liquid from the vessel. A valve mounted in the spigot assembly regulates the flow of liquid from the vessel to an outlet spout. A filter is mounted in the spout to filter solid particles from the drained liquid. The spigot assembly has an attachment plate that is fixedly secured on the convex exterior surface of the sidewall surrounding a drain opening formed in the sidewall. A cylindrical attachment member is fixedly attached to the plate and extends through the plate into the drain opening without contacting the wall of the container, thereby avoiding the necessity of having the cylindrical member to conform to the convex wall of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 6748868
Abstract: High temperature incendiary (HTI) devices and methods destroy biological and/or chemical agents. Preferably, such HTI devices include dual modal propellant compositions having low burn rate propellant particles dispersed in a matrix of a high burn rate propellant. Most preferably, the HTI device includes a casing which contains the dual modal propellant and a nozzle through which combustion gases generated by the ignited high burn rate propellant may be discharged thereby entraining ignited particles of the low burn rate propellant. In use, therefore, the high burn rate propellant will be ignited using a conventional igniter thereby generating combustion gases which are expelled through the nozzle of the HTI device. As the ignition face of the propellant composition regresses, the low burn rate particles will similarly become ignited.

Abstract: An agricultural seed planter and seed meter therefore, wherein the seed meter includes a rotary vacuum drum disposed within a stationary housing to entrain individual seeds on an annular circumferential periphery of the drum. As the entrained seeds rotate with the drum the seeds are singulated before being released from said vacuum drum. The seed metering and dispensing device is adapted to be mounted below the seed hopper to discharge the seeds into a seed tube as is conventional, or alternatively the seed metering and dispensing device is preferably adapted for mounting just above the soil surface and between the furrow opening assembly and furrow closing wheel assembly of a conventional agricultural planter such that the seeds are deposited directly into the seed furrow.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for reducing the frictional drag of a ship and to a ship with reduced frictional drag, and its objects include effectively reducing the driving force used during the travel of a ship by decreasing the power required for delivering gas into water as well as to decrease the construction cost for a ship. A negative pressure portion 21 whose pressure becomes lower than the pressure in a gas space during the travel is formed in the water, and bubbles 22 are discharged into the water by introducing gas from the gas space to the negative pressure portion 21 in water.
