  • Patent number: 6761190
Abstract: A vapor pressure equalizer system for reducing the pressure of a storage tank that contains volatile liquid or fuel. A conduit is connected to the storage tank that draws vapors present in the ullage of the storage tank into the conduit. The vapors are circulated through the conduit to cool the vapor and return the vapor to the storage tank. In this manner, the pressure of the storage tank is reduced since the vapors being returned are cooler and smaller in volume than when the vapors entered the conduit. The conduit may be an open system that circulates vapors, or may be a closed system that circulates a cooling media through a radiator in the ullage of the storage tank. An electronic controller controls the operation of the system according to measurements that indicate an overpressure condition or a likelihood of future over-pressurization.

Abstract: An auxiliary groove is formed in tire circumferential direction on a tire central plane of an pneumatic tire according to the present invention. This auxiliary groove is formed, whereby a negative ratio of a center region other than the lug groove is set to 10% to 25%. Thus, a tread heat radiation quantity can be decreased, and a surface area of a tire can be increased. As a result, heat radiation properties can be improved. In addition, as long as the negative ratio is within the above set range, the wear of the tread can be reduced to the minimum. Namely, according to the present invention, there can be provided an pneumatic tire capable of both reducing the wear of the tread to the minimum and improving a heat radiation effect.

Abstract: A method is described of operating a hot-chamber pressure diecasting machine and a pressure diecasting machine suitable for the implementation of this method, by which a prefilling of the casting system can be carried out before the actual mold filling operation. During this prefilling operation, the air present in the casting system after each shot when the casting plunger is withdrawn, is pressed out during this prefilling operation through the mold which is still open during this time period. This amount of air therefore no longer has to escape during the subsequent mold filling operation. The mold filling operation and the pressing-in operation can therefore be implemented more effectively and within a shorter period of time.
