  • Patent number: 6814553
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a dual reciprocating bellows pump which can facilitate size reduction design of the whole pump, permit pump manufacture at low cost, and permit reducing the dead spaces in pumping chambers to provide improved self-suction performance. Valve cases of suction side and discharge side valve units are disposed one below the other along a longitudinal axis passing through the center of the cross-section of the bellows such that they project into the associated pumping chambers, and a pair of interlock shafts are disposed at positions spaced apart to the left and right from the center in the transversal direction. With this construction, it is possible to reduce the dead spaces in the pumping chambers, reduce the longitudinal and transversal dimensions of the pump and facilitate size reduction design of the pump.

  • Patent number: 6814555
Abstract: A melt spinning apparatus includes fiber producing features to produce multi-component filaments by extruding two or more single-component strands that combine after extrusion and are then attenuated by process air. The two or more liquid materials do not contact one another in the spinpack. Separation of the two types of liquid material throughout the spinpack prevents premature leakage between two liquid materials and allows for an optimized temperature for each type of liquid material for proper extrusion.

  • Patent number: 6814558
Abstract: The present invention provides a ball screw device for linear movement, which moves a working body by using a single of a plurality of ball screw shafts and ball screw nuts. In the ball screw device, a plurality of ball screw nuts are engaged threadedly with the same ball screw shaft. Also, one of the ball screw nuts on each ball screw shaft is attached to the working body via a fixed flange, the single fixed flange or one of the fixed flanges is provided with a load sensor, and other ball screw nuts serve as a fluid pressure supporting mechanism using a cylinder and a piston. A fluid pressure is controlled so that the support force of the fluid pressure supporting mechanism is equal to the pushing force detected by the load sensor. By this configuration, a large load can be distributed evenly to the ball screw nuts.

  • Patent number: 6814564
Abstract: A pair of form keys and a method for forming reverse drafts in foam parts are disclosed. A male form key is reciprocally mounted in a first mold half in a retracted position. A female form key is rotatably mounted in a second mold half in a neutral position. The first mold half includes a first drive pin that when engaged, moves the male form key into engagement with a foam sheet to form an undercut as the first and second mold halves are closed. The first mold half also includes a second drive pin that engages the female form key as the first and second mold halves close rotating the female form key into engagement with the foam sheet and the male form key. After closure of the mold and the product is formed, the mold is opened. As this occurs, the drive pins are disengaged and the male form key retracts and the female form key rotates to their neutral positions. The formed product may then be stripped from the mold while maintaining the reverse draft or undercut.

  • Patent number: 6814566
Abstract: The invention provides a method of injection molding a part having an undercut region and a method of assembling a jointed structure from several parts. A two-part mold has a common cavity with part of the cavity in each mold part. A combined pin-in-a-sleeve extends into the cavity in one of the mold parts in order to form a bore in a part to be molded in that cavity. The pin provides a portion shaped to form a first undercut region in the bore. A second pin extends into the cavity in the other of the two mold parts. The two pins are aligned to form a single bore in the molded part while in the cavity. The second pin also has a portion shaped to form a second undercut region in the bore. After an injection molded part is made, the mold opens a limited and discrete distance to allow the molded part to be released from the hold of the mold cavity. Then, the mold opens fully for the continuation of a multi-step operation to pull the pins out of the undercut regions.

  • Patent number: 6814567
Abstract: An ejector housing cover plate for an injection mold system having an upper stationary portion and a lower movable portion. The upper portion has a support member and a cavity core, while the lower portion has a frame defining an interior opening, support member and a frame core. An ejector system is positioned within the opening and is movable to eject newly molded products when a molded product has been formed. The opening in the frame can result in the collection of dust, moisture and other foreign materials inside the opening and the possible damage to the mold or ejector system, so an ejector system cover plate is provided. The cover plate covers the opening during operation of the system and when the system is inactive or stored.

  • Patent number: 6814571
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement and method that help to reduce the build-up formed on the grate of a fluidized-bed furnace in the roasting of fine-grained material such as concentrate. The concentrate is fed into the roaster furnace from the wall of the furnace, and oxygen-containing gas is fed via gas jets under the grate in the bottom of the furnace in order to fluidize the concentrate and oxidize it during fluidization. Below the concentrate feed point, or feed grate, the oxygen content of the gas to be fed is raised compared with gas fed elsewhere using additional gas jets situated in the feed grate higher than the other jets. The extra jets of the feed grate are connected to their own gas distribution unit.

  • Patent number: 6814583
Abstract: A female edge connector is cut into a circuit board to reduce the connector size and therefore the distance the signal path is separated from the ground plane. Preferably, the female connector is a surface mount connector and is provided in two pieces. This allows the female connector to be attached to either side of the printed circuit board or can be connected to both sides if half of the connector is mounted on the opposite side of the board from the other. A male edge connector of a plug-in board can then be inserted through the aperture formed in the mother board to contact the female edge connector, providing very little distance between the ground planes of the plug-in board and the mother board. The distance between the two pieces of the female connector can be varied by changing the width of the aperture such that PC boards of various thicknesses can be accommodated.

  • Patent number: 6814589
Abstract: An electrical connector includes contact pads on a printed circuit board and contact members on a substrate. The contact members are pressed against the contact pads by a compression mat having compressor fingers. A clamping arrangement forces the compressor fingers against the substrate and thereby presses the contact members against the connector pads. The compression mat is made of elastomeric material, which has a tendency to relax and thus reduce the pressure after the clamping arrangement is tightened. A restrainer member is used to offset this tendency of the polymer to relax. The restrainer member has holes through which the compressor fingers of the compression mat extend.

Abstract: An electrical connector housing includes a first shell mountable on a second shell. The first shell is provided with connector mounts to be fit with connectors, fuse mounts to be fit with fuses and relay mounts to be fit with relays. The electrical connector housing contains a busbar stack which includes a connector circuitry module containing connector-connecting circuits, a fuse circuitry module containing fuse-connecting circuits, and a relay circuitry module containing relay-connecting circuits. In this manner, only the busbars contained in the fuse-connecting circuits and those contained in the relay-connecting circuits can be formed of a copper alloy which is harder than pure copper. As a result, the busbar terminals of the fuse-and relay-connecting circuits can be connected directly to the fuse and the relays, respectively. The electrical connector housing thus configured has a simple structure, and can be constructed without increasing costs.

Abstract: A springy contact element for contacting first and second housing parts has a sheet metal tab formed as a unitary part of the sheet metal of the first housing part. The sheet metal tab has a base adjoining a sheet metal edge and a contact surface spaced from the base. The contact surface rests electrically conductingly against the second housing part. The sheet metal tab has a longitudinal center axis extending from the base to the contact surface. The sheet metal tab has a cold-formed section having a thickness reduced by cold forming relative to a thickness of the sheet metal. The base is wider than a width of the sheet metal tab in the area from the base to the contact surface, wherein the width is measured transversely to the longitudinal center axis. The cold-formed section extends past the base and the sheet metal edge into the sheet metal.
