Abstract: A composite utility blade and method of making such a blade involves butt joining a high speed or tool steel wire to a front edge of an alloy steel backing strip. The wire defines a predetermined cross-sectional shape that substantially corresponds to the cross-sectional shape of the cutting edge of the blade. The wire is electron beam welded to the backing strip to form a composite strip defining a first metal portion formed by the alloy steel backing strip, a second metal portion formed by the high speed or tool steel wire, and a weld region joining the first and second metal portions. The composite strip is then annealed, and the annealed strip is straightened to eliminate any camber therein. The annealed composite strip is then hardened such that the first metal portion defines a first surface hardness and the second metal portion defines a second surface hardness greater than the first surface hardness.

Each blade assembly is positioned on a drive plate by means of an inserted eccentric shaft to maintain synchronous operation. The eccentric shafts of the blade assembly are driven into reciprocal rotation by a power structure, each eccentric shaft causing the blades at their lower extents to alternately project and retract for cutting heat-shrink film at a required travel and time to effectively shorten the period involved and thereby increase production efficiency. Each cutter shaft is restrained by a check plate and anchoring screws to prevent 360-degree free rotation, which not only results in safer blade replacement, but at the same time also prolongs the service life of the transmission and structural components.

The in bore air regulation system is operably attached to the gun barrel so that the in bore air regulation system is in communication with the bore to regulate air pressure in the bore and thereby control the position of the round in the bore.

Abstract: The invention provides a self-aligning device for aiding the engagement of a munition into a rifled gun barrel on loading of the munition, absent the use of a driving band, as, for example, in the case of a munition which is fitted with aerodynamic tail fins. The device comprises at least one annular ring to surround the munition, and which, if desired, can be seated on a surface of the munition which allows the ring(s) to rotate. One or more of the rings has a number of elements which are capable of lying within the outline of the ring or rings to allow the munition to be readily loaded into a gun barrel but which can take the form of projections extending radially outwards from the ring(s) when they become coincident with the internal rifling of the gun barrel on further movement of the munition along with barrel or when the munition is rotated. The projections then engage in the rifling grooves and provide a sealing effect.

Abstract: A micro-adjustable hydraulic driving device includes a hydraulic cylinder, a control valve, and a cam. By utilizing a cam, it can precisely control the position of the sliding block and controls the size of the flowing cross-sectional area. So, it can achieve the purpose of precise controlling for the push rod to move slowly or stay at a desired position within the stroke. This invention can precisely control the moving speed and position of the push rod of the heavy load hydraulic cylinder. It can achieve the micro-adjusting effect. It can quickly reverse the moving direction and is easy to operate and control. And, its structure is simple with lost cost.

Abstract: An attachment control system includes an electrical control system and hydraulic control system. The electrical control system interfaces with the hydraulic control system to ensure that attachment decoupling in response to operator electrical control can occur only when at least two different hydraulic threshold conditions are satisfied. In one example, decoupling is prevented unless the attachment is safely positioned (e.g., full curl) in response to operator manipulation of a joystick or other attachment positioning device. This can be detected, for example, when the hydraulic system has an overall operating pressure at or above a first threshold and a joystick pilot pressure at or above a second threshold.

Abstract: A reciprocating pump assembly includes piston rod that is movable and reciprocates in order to pump a fluid. The piston rod has a piston portion at an end that stokes within a piston chamber. The pump assembly also includes a piston rod sleeve that houses the piston rod. The piston rod sleeve does not reciprocate with the piston rod. Thus, the piston rod sleeve remains stationary. The piston rod sleeve defines and annulus between the piston rod and the piston rod sleeve. The pump assembly has a fluid line that leads into the annulus. The fluid line delivers coolant to the annulus. The pump assembly also includes a flow passage. The flow passage has an inlet in fluid communication with the annulus for receiving the coolant. The passage also has an outlet in fluid communication with the piston chamber for delivering the coolant.

The deformable impact plate (24) is securely clamped along its edge or held by a clamping device (31), that permits a controlled slipping through. The impacting piston (18) deforms the impact plate (24) to absorb the kinetic energy produced if this piston is released as a result of damage and is accelerated by the existing gas bolster and thrown against the impact plate (24).

When the ring element is screwed onto the piston body, it forms a ring shaped cooling channel which is closed off in a direction of the pin bosses by a projection of the basic body. The projection is structured in the form of an elastically resilient cup spring which is deformed when the ring element is screwed onto the body. This deformation and counter stress, contributes to the strength of the screw connection.

Abstract: A method for determining the characteristic properties of soot particles originating from combustion processes utilizes the determination of the blackening of a filter paper. In order to allow for achieving a quick and relatively accurate determination of the particle sizes, possibly of further characteristics as well, a method of this kind provides that the pressure conditions on the filter paper are established as well. It is advantageous for this purpose to determine the differential pressure on the filter and/or filter paper caused by the deposition of the particles.
