Abstract: A post-mix beverage dispenser includes a diluent jet directed at a wall of a mixing chamber thereof such that a swirling descending mass of diluent is formed. A concentrate dispensing outlet ejects concentrate into the swirling mass of diluent causing turbulent mixing of the diluent and the concentrate to create a frothed or whipped beverage. Instead of creating a swirling mass of diluent, the diluent jet and concentrate dispensing outlet may be oriented substantially directly at one another such that the streams of concentrate and diluent collide causing a turbulent mixing of the diluent and the concentrate.

Abstract: A modular diluent changeover manifold for beverage dispensers provides quick and convenient changeover of supply of two different beverage liquid diluents to post-mix beverage dispensing valves. The diluent changeover manifold is mounted within a beverage dispenser behind a beverage valve mounting panel. The modular changeover manifold and valve assembly, when assembled, consists of a pair of diluent tubes and a plurality of changeover valves. Each changeover valve has an outlet fluidly connected to an associated one of the beverage dispensing valves and each tube supplies a different diluent, such as plain water and carbonated water, to one of two inlets to each changeover valve. The changeover valves are individually manually manipulateable to deliver to their associated beverage valves either the diluent from the first tube or the diluent from the second tube.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a fluid includes a rigid vial that has a main fluid chamber containing a fluid, and a pump assembly that is in fluid communication with the main fluid chamber and is configured to dispense a predetermined quantity of fluid from the main fluid chamber. A flexible bladder is provided which is located within the main fluid chamber and is configured to expand to fill the ullage created within the main fluid chamber during dispensing of fluid by the pump assembly. The resilient bladder tends to force itself outwardly toward the rigid vial and, in turn, increases the pressure within the main fluid chamber in comparison to the interior of the bladder to thereby prevent the ingress of air or vapors through the bladder or otherwise into the main fluid chamber.

Abstract: Shirt-like garments can be stretched from the inside and pressed with an inflatable body that has a trunk part and two sleeve segments by inflating the inflatable body. Since the sleeves of the garments have different cross sections, deformation of the trunk section can take place in the area of the connecting points between the trunk section and the sleeve segments when the sleeves are small. On the other hand, if the sleeves are large, insufficient tensioning the sleeve segments can occur, thereby leading to bad pressing results. In order to be able to press a wider range of different cross sections of sleeves, the cross section of the sleeve segments is smaller in the connecting points than in the area adjacent the connecting points. Advantageously, the sleeve segments expand beyond the connecting points to their maximum cross section within a very small area.

Abstract: The adjustable leather rifle sling is a shoulder sling for carrying a rifle, shotgun, or other long gun. The adjustable leather rifle sling is formed from a single leather strap. A large adjustable loop is formed in one end of the leather strap, and secured by a slide-lock knot. The slide-lock knot is formed by cutting two slits into the leather strap, to form three small strips. Each of the small strips is turned 90° so that three small bands are formed perpendicular to the length of the leather sling. The adjustable loop is made by passing an end of the leather strap through the bands of the slide-lock knot. Thus, an adjustable loop is formed in the adjustable leather rifle sling without the need for clasps, slides, buckles or other fittings.

Abstract: An explosively actuated tool for driving a fastener into a substrate is of the type in which the tool is mounted to the end of a pole-like handle to permit manipulation and actuation of the tool from a remote position wherein actuation of the tool occurs by pushing the forward end of a barrel of the tool against the substrate using the handle and then pushing on the handle which loads and then releases the firing mechanism of the tool. A lock device is incorporated to prevent “air firing” of the tool by pushing the handle without the forward end of the barrel being pressed against the substrate. The lock device has a lock member which cooperates with the firing pin or firing pin spring support of the firing mechanism to lock one or other of those components unless the lock member is released by a prior displacement caused by retraction of the barrel when its forward end is pressed against the substrate.

Abstract: A continuous centrifuge (10) has a basket (30) with upper and lower basket portions (43, 44) separated by an intermediate slip portion (45). The lower basket portion (43) has an included angle of 40-50°, to separate “green” molasses from the sugar crystals, while the upper basket portion (44) has an included angle of 50-60°, to separate washed molasses from the sugar crystals. The inner faces of the walls of the basket portions (43, 44) have radial drainage grooves (46), closed at their lower ends and open at their upper ends, to discharge the molasses.

Abstract: A separable dual carton for accommodating separate quantities of articles. The dual carton includes a plurality of panels hingedly connected to one another. A center top panel includes a tear strip which overlies at least one starter orifice. The starter orifice is formed from apertures in opposing panels which are sized and positioned to register with one another when the dual carton is erected. By removing at least a portion of the tear strip, the starter orifice becomes accessible to facilitate the separation of the dual carton into separate individual cartons.

Abstract: A door assembly is available for a roadside delivery container, such as a newspaper box or open-ended mailbox. The roadside container has a container interior and an open container end to facilitate access to the container interior. The door assembly permits selective covering of the open container end. The door assembly includes a door frame having a frame opening therein, a container fastener, and a frame opening cover. The container fastener is pivotally mounted to the door frame. The container fastener is configured for pivotally attaching the door frame to the delivery container. The frame opening cover is pivotally mounted to the door frame and is configured for selectably covering the frame opening. Advantageously, the frame opening cover has a bifold design, making closing thereof possible under newspaper placement conditions that would have otherwise prevented closure.

Abstract: Most financial transactions involving check deposits and cashing at automatic teller machines are often associated with high risk. Although conventional security measures for many automatic teller machines record financial transactions, the recorded events are typically viewed after suspicious or criminal activity has already occurred. Therefore, a financial institution may not know in advance whether requested financial transactions are of suspicious or fraudulent intent. The present teachings relate to a method of scoring customers prior to authorization in a manner so as to identify suspicious behavior or suspicious activity. The method also relates to marking suspicious individuals by storing related transaction information, such as biometric data, in a database for purposes of verifying identification information and scoring the validity of future financial transactions.

Abstract: The invention enables the customization or the initialization of an application for example in a programmable smart card (1) using minimum integrated code. Therefor, a device for preparing customizing or initializing data to be transmitted to the card comprises means (44, 46) designed to create concatenation (26) of information elements (Vi) in respective adjacent data blocks (Bi) scheduled in accordance with a convention recognised by said communication device, without explicit field specification. On reception of said data sequence, the card code identifies the information elements according to their size and their position in the flow.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies that facilitate data capture and/or display of data to users are provided. In one aspect, a mobile scanning terminal device provides inverting and/or rotating the display based at least upon; a user's perspective, image capture and bar code scanning requirements. Suitable orientation for the display can be determined via employing various sensors and artificial intelligence techniques to infer a user's optical viewing position. Such inference can be according to criteria such as; a user-state, context, and prior use of the terminal device. Accordingly, a display can be automatically configured to optimize its orientation for viewing by the user. The system can additionally provide for a holder that enables a user to employ the terminal device hands free for capture of data.
