The circular blade can be covered between the handle and the cover for storage. When the circular blade is dull, the circular blade can be replaced without discarding the whole pizza cutter. Further, because the circular blade can be completely enclosed by the cover and the handle, the circular blade will not injure a person when the pizza cutter is stored.

The accelerometer generates an accelerometer signal in response to movement of the flexure plate. An angular position sensor senses angular position of the beam relative to the x-axis and y-axis, the angular position sensor generating an angular position signal therefrom. A processor receives the accelerometer signal and the angular position signal and generates an East-West signal therefrom.

The apertures are sized so that the locking plates easily slide on the rod whenever the upper portions thereof are normal to the rod but lock to the rod whenever the upper portions thereof are tipped from the normal position as the upper portions of the locking plates are moved by means of the rod while the lower portions of the locking plates are stopped by means of the movable jaw. The release carrier is movable relative to the movable jaw. The spring is compressed between the movable jaw and the locking plates for returning the upper portions of the locking plates to the normal position.

Abstract: A lumber drying kiln employs outside air pressure uses a flexible collapsing bag or cover alone or in combination with walls. The collapsing bag seals against a base to maintain the vacuum. The air pressure against the flexible top keeps the lumber layers from warping or cupping during drying. The lumber stack has alternating layers of hot plates or stickers separating layers of lumber. A bag having an open bottom and made of nylon-reinforced rubber or other strong flexible material is placed over the wood and sealed to the stainless steel platform. A vacuum pump is connected with the bag by means of a manifold and operated to remove air from the enclosed lumber stack, the vacuum strengthening the seal between the base and the bottom of the bag. This chamber design is easily scaled up or down to provide a desired drying capacity.

Abstract: A relatively simple fabric drying apparatus achieving high energy efficiency and fast drying at low temperature to be gentle to fabrics. This fabric dryer recirculates air, causing the air to make several passes by the fabrics. Recirculation provides high energy efficiency by ensuring that the air is nearly saturated with water before leaving the dryer; therefore, less energy is wasted heating the air. The present invention's recirculating air is directed upward. Since the flow of recirculating air is directed upward toward the fabrics as they fall downward in the drum, air speed relative to the fabrics is maximized, and the fabrics' fall time increases. Drying time is shortened, because the high air speed past the fabrics means fast water removal; the lengthened fall time of the fabrics also helps speed water removal because the fabric surfaces are more exposed to the drying air while falling.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods spread a towel from a load of towels. The towels are rectangular, such as hand, wash or beach towels. A trailing corner is first identified to isolate one short edge from another short edge. The entire towel is then transported from one side of a center line of a conveyor to another side. Once on the other side, an end of the towel is brought into contact with a moving belt. The moving belt tensions the towel by causing friction downwards or away from the direction the towel is being moved. The clamped corner is moved back to the other side of the center line and released on the conveyor. A pinch belt, such as a pinch belt on one side of the conveyor, conveys one end of the towel in a bunch. The conveyor conveys one portion of the towel while the pinch belt conveys the bunched portion. The conveyor conveys the towel off the end of the conveyor until a trailing corner is detected. A pinch roller is then placed against the conveyor to clamp the trailing corner.

The nitrogen rich fraction has an absolute nitrogen content of at least 1000 ppm by weight and this fraction is (re)blended with the base fuel is no more than 1% by weight of the total fuel composition. Methods of separating, recovering and reblending such naturally occurring nitrogen compounds can be installed or retrofitted at existing refinery and crude oil processing facilities without any substantial increase in production costs.

Abstract: Spinning vase comprising a hollow member and an inner member inserted within the hollow member, the inner member comprising an ornament receiving top end for receiving a ornament such as a floral upwardly emanating beyond the open upper end of the hollow member, and a tapered bottom end terminating to a point gravity biased against a bottom interior surface of the hollow member for providing limited frictional engagement therewith such that the inner member rotates and/or spins about the point for rotating and/or spinning the floral as a function of an applied torque provided by vibration to the device or by a differential air pressure acting on the floral. A pliant bumper circumscribes the inner member for deflecting the inner member away from a sidewall of the hollow member to help sustain the rotation and/or spin of the ornament.
