Abstract: A protective glove having a protective function against toxic chemical agents, especially chemical warfare agents, and a multilayer construction including a breathable layer is disclosed. The glove has a support layer and a barrier layer, which is assigned to the support layer and which faces the hand when the glove is worn, prevents or at least retards the passage of toxic chemical agents, and contains an adsorption layer based on an adsorbent material, such as activated carbon, which adsorbs toxic chemical agents. The barrier layer has, in addition to the adsorption layer, a membrane, which is at least preferably impermeable to water and air, but permeable to water vapor, and which retards the passage of toxic chemical agents or is at least essentially impermeable to toxic chemical agents. The membrane is arranged between the support layer and the adsorption layer.

Abstract: A chemical/biological hazard protection suit has two pants legs which extend to a midsection below waist level. An opening in the midsection defines an outlet from the suit interior. A waste collector has an upper segment which is fixed to the midsection and which adjoins an intermediate segment which is in turn connected to a waste receptacle. A first seal is between the upper segment and the intermediate segment, and a second seal is between the intermediate segment and the waste receptacle. A region of weakened material encircles the intermediate segment between the seals. A wearer discharges waste through the outlet and past the two open seals into the receptacle, whereupon both seals are closed, and the receptacle is detached from the upper segment, leaving both the receptacle and the suit sealed. Prior to use, the waste receptacle may be retained within a pocket on one of the pants legs.

To this end, a parallel link mechanism having a pair of perpendicular arms is provided in the adjustable bed as part of a sitting-up mechanism, and by always keeping these arms in a perpendicular position, the sitting-up mechanism is operated with a position removed from the surface of a lower-back board by a prescribed interval as an imaginary rotation center when the bed is driven. This prevents any slippage of the care recipient's body in relation to the platform surface, thereby suppressing the occurrence of bedsores and realizing a natural sitting-up action that takes account of the care recipient's body movement.

Abstract: A window washer control system and method administers fluid intermittently to a window based on an intermittent setting. A washer switch includes a plurality of frequency settings for varying a time interval between fluid administering events. The fluid level in a washer fluid reservoir is monitored to ensure a predetermined level. If the fluid level is below a predetermined level, control prevents intermittent washer administration and allows only manual activation.

Abstract: In a structure in which a middle portion of a wiper blade is pivoted to a leading end portion of a wiper arm via a pivot substantially orthogonal to an arm length direction so as to freely oscillate, and a supporting member supporting a portion closer to a wiper shaft than the middle portion of the wiper blade is provided in the wiper arm, the structure reduces a sliding resistance which occurs due to a movement of the wiper blade toward and away from a window surface. A stabilizer has an upper piece portion and a pair of side piece portions, a supporting concave portion supporting a wiper blade in an outward fitting manner is formed, and a plurality of ribs which extend toward the window surface are formed on inner surfaces of the side piece portions, thereby being in linear contact with outer surfaces of side piece portions of a support receiving body which is fitted to a first lever terminal end portion of the wiper blade.

Abstract: A device for cleaning a roll in a paper production plant has a doctor blade assigned to the surface of the roll. The doctor blade is mounted such that it can be pivoted with respect to the roll by two bearing journals that are aligned parallel to the axis of the roll. An actuating lever for pivoting the doctor blade is fixed to at least one of the two bearing journals. The bearing journal and the actuating lever are formed with mutually associated latching elements, by way of which the bearing journal and the actuating lever can be connected to each other in form-lock in different positions.

Abstract: A self-moving vacuum cleaner includes a duct disposed in a casing and having a vacuum inlet which extends downwardly of a bottom wall of the casing, and an impeller disposed to draw dust from the floor surface through the vacuum inlet into the duct. An intake nozzle includes a tubular nozzle body which has an upper end communicated with and retainingly slidable relative to the vacuum inlet so as to enable a lower end of the nozzle body to be movable between upper and lower positions, and an anchoring member which is hinged to the bottom wall such that the nozzle body is swingable between the upper and lower positions in response to unevenness of the floor surface, thereby enabling the lower end to keep trailing on the floor surface when the casing moves.
