The glove has a support layer and a barrier layer, which is assigned to the support layer and which faces the hand when the glove is worn, prevents or at least retards the passage of toxic chemical agents, and contains an adsorption layer based on an adsorbent material, such as activated carbon, which adsorbs toxic chemical agents. The barrier layer has, in addition to the adsorption layer, a membrane, which is at least preferably impermeable to water and air, but permeable to water vapor, and which retards the passage of toxic chemical agents or is at least essentially impermeable to toxic chemical agents. Abstract: Disclosed is a seat for use around the bathtub area. Specifically, the seat is formed so that it can fit around a side wall of a bathtub. Because there are many standard sizes of bathtubs, some embodiments of the invention include an adjustment mechanism so that the seat can be adjusted to securely attach to the side wall of most sizes of bathtubs. Other embodiments of the invention provide for a seat that can be used within the bathtub itself. Further embodiments are implemented that can sit securely on a bathtub on which a door rail is also attached.

Abstract: A medical assist device relocates patients from a first support such as a bed to a second support such as a chair or wheelchair. Upon location of the assist device to a position adjacent such first support, the patient may stand on a rotatable platform of the assist device. Upon actuation of the motor, preferably by a remote controller, the platform is caused to slowly rotate through a desired angular path to position the patient adjacent the second support. A steadying structure is provided for gripping by the patient. Under one embodiment, the steadying structure is designed to be collapsible.

The width of the bottom sheet which is perforated with orifices at least in a central portion, is greater than the width of the top sheet at least in middle and lower regions of the top and bottom sheets. A plurality of partition members connect at least portions of the top and bottom sheets to one another, and extend parallel with lateral edges of the top and bottom sheets and are spaced in from the perimeter side walls. To load the extractor (10) with laundry, the sliding doors (24, 26) am actuated to provide an opening at the top of the drum (14). The doors (24, 26) are actuated via in interconnected series of levers (36, 38), plates (28, 30) and linkages (48, 50). The laundry is then dropped from a conveyor or chute into the drum (14) without having to tilt or pivot the drum (14). Once loaded, the doors (24, 26) are automatically closed and a locking assembly (60) engages the door (24, 26) to prevent them from inadvertently opening.
