Abstract: A garment label is provided that can be affixed to a garment in a permanent, yet, removable manner. The garment label provides indicia viewable thereon. The indicia include country of origin, garment provider identifier, and fiber content for the garment. Care instructions and garment size can also be included. A garment label can include a planar member and an attachment mechanism that facilitates optional removal and reattachment, if desired, without significant risk of damage to the garment. For example, a piercing element, or optionally a plurality of piercing elements, extends from the planar display members and is received by corresponding hole defined in a backing member. The holes can be curved and terminate within the backing member such that a corresponding piercing element of the plurality of piercing elements is bent once received within the holes. Optionally, garment label can further provide information in an encoded data element.

Abstract: A frame assembly for pictures or other objects to be displayed includes a frame having front and rear panels defining a space therebetween for receiving objects to be displayed. A support mechanism optionally provided for supporting the frame in a substantially upright position enabling pictures to be viewed through a transparent area or window formed in one or both of the front and rear panels. The front panel includes retaining members formed along edges thereof, including at least two opposed edges, and each retaining member includes an extension portion extending rearward relative to a planar portion of the front panel and an inwardly projecting ridge formed on an inward surface of the extension portion. The rear panel is designed to fit snugly between the ridges and a rear surface of the front panel. The support mechanism may be a base separable from the frame or formed integral with the rear panel.

Abstract: The invention comprises, in one form thereof, a customized picture framing apparatus and method of making the same. The framing apparatus includes a window, a picture affixed to the window, and a custom cut piece of glass attached to the window through the application of an adhesive material to at least one of the sides of the custom cut piece of glass. Decorations such as paint, a decorative pattern, and three-dimensional items may be added to the framing apparatus.

Abstract: A decorative piece for securing together the mitered edges of two frame sections, comprises a locking plate having two threaded apertures for receiving tightening screws, and a backing plate, whereby tightening of the screws forces the locking plate and backing plate apart to clamp the frame sections together. A cosmetic extension attached to one of the plates is adapted to fit between the mitered edges of the adjacent frame sections. The cosmetic extension includes a top portion and a transverse extension arm which provide an attractive junction for the adjacent frame sections which obscures the mitered joint.

One holding device (7c) has a fixed bearing member (16) and a movable member (18) which contains the recess (21) and which is pivotable about a pivot axis (19) from an active position, in which the recess (21) is open in a direction away from the opposite holding device so that the poster (6) turns back on itself near the edge portion (6c), the poster being under tension between the pair of holding devices, to a passive position, in which tension in the poster is released sufficiently to allow the edge portion (6c) to be removed from the recess (21). The holding device (7a) is preferably an upper holding device with an undercut slot (12) slidably receiving a bead (14) at the upper edge portion (6a) of the poster.

Abstract: A trap (1) is described which is substantially cylindrical in shape having a base (2), side wall (3) and a removable upper portion (4) which has an upper surface (7) substantially concave in shape. An open-topped mesh basket (6) rests on a mesh (5) support within the trap (1). A light (14) is positioned just above the upper surface (7) of the upper portion (4) which, when energized, attracts the insect to be exterminated. The trap (1) is approximately two thirds filled with water (16) which is then pumped from within the body of the trap to create a substantially helical flow of liquid over the upper surface (7) of the upper portion (4) as it returns to the body of the trap (1). Insects attracted to the light (14) are entrained by the water (16) and are flushed down into the trap and retained within the mesh basket (6). As an alternative, the upper surface (7) can be substantially convex in shape and the water flows substantially radially over the upper surface (7) of the upper portion (4).

Abstract: This invention relates to a fuel composition comprising (i) a low sulphur fuel having a sulphur content of less than 30 ppm, a bromine number of less than 10 and an ultraviolet absorbance at 319 nm is below 0.15 and (ii) an effective amount of an ashless friction reducing additive which is a fatty acid having 10-30 carbon atoms or a derivative thereof. The fuel of the specified characteristics shown improved response to the friction reducing additive in respect of its lubricity performance.

Abstract: A tree shelter includes a biodegradable fibrous mat coated with a degradable resin and adapted to be formed into a roll which can enclose at least the lower part of a plant. The mat is preferably non-woven and its structure is preferably impregnated with a second degradable resin which degrades at a different, preferably faster, rate to that of the first degradable resin under the same environmental conditions. Such a shelter has the advantage that once the first resin has substantially degraded over a predetermined time period to expose the mat to the weather, the second degradable resin commences a faster degradation to cause the mat to decompose rapidly into a loose fibrous state and ultimately form a beneficial mulch around the stem or trunk at the base of the plant.

Abstract: A modular tutor system having lights has a base having a series of holes made into it. Any one of those holes can receive a tutor assembly since some species of plants may require more than one tutor to fully support it as it grows. The tutor assembly itself is made out of segments which can extend the length of the tutor assembly according to need. Holes in the base as well as in the tutor assembly help drain water. The tutor assembly has a series of connecting holes to receive horizontal support arms as well as DC power outlets to power up small lighting fixtures. The horizontal support arms are used for propping up branches and leaves as well as for holding teh lighting fixtures.

Abstract: A soil-less seed support medium comprising a seed-bearing substrate superposed upon a cellular substrate contained within a rigid, porous cup-shaped modular receptacle is disclosed. Alternatively, a seed support medium comprising a seed-bearing cellular substrate contained within a rigid, porous cup-shaped modular receptacle is disclosed. Both embodiments are modular in design for ease in packaging, shipping, implanting and transplanting. A method for germinating a seed utilizing the seed support medium is also disclosed.

Abstract: An agronomic system is disclosed for the commercial production of green Cicer beans wherein a relative risk of caramelization is determined based on geographical data, macro climate data, and micro climate data for a given locale. Relative risk of caramelization helps select acreage to be planted. Additionally, an agronomic system and method for cultivation and commercial production of the green Cicer bean is described herein for preferred row spacing and variety selections that are usable for the commercial production of the green Cicer bean. Prior to the present invention there were no agronomic methods or systems adapted for commercial production of the green Cicer bean. The agronomic systems and methods disclosed herein also help to adjust planting times based on growing degree day calculations for given parcels wherein harvesting of the green Cicer bean is in rhythm with processing plant capacity.

Abstract: A plant container having a cylindrical sidewall with an open top, an open bottom, and a plurality of spaced apart notches formed in a lower edge thereof; and a circular bottom positioned within the cylindrical sidewall open bottom, the circular bottom has a plurality of drain holes therein, the circular bottom is spaced a predetermined distance from the lower edge of the cylindrical sidewall. Both the sidewall and the bottom are preferably formed from a roll of heat sealable polymeric material, such as polyethylene. The sidewall is formed into a tapered cylinder with a sealed overlapping seam. The bottom is positioned near the lower edge of the tapered cylinder and is heat sealed to the sidewall.

The system provides for an enhanced plant growth.

Abstract: A system is set forth for the exothermic generation of soot depleted syngas comprising (i) reacting a hydrocarbon-containing fuel with an oxygen containing gas in a first reactor to produce the syngas and byproducts comprising CO2, H2O and soot; and (ii) introducing the syngas and byproducts into a second reactor containing a non-carbonaceous material that traps the soot for a sufficient time such that the majority of the byproduct soot is gasified via reaction with the byproduct CO2 and/or H2O to produce a syngas stream that is depleted in the soot. The system is particularly suitable for the practice of heat exchange reforming wherein a portion of the heat is recovered from the soot depleted syngas stream and used as at least a portion of the heat to facilitate the additional production of syngas via the (endothermic) catalytic reforming of natural gas and steam.

Abstract: A fuel processing system including a filter for reforming a hydrocarbon fuel and its operation is disclosed. The system includes a first chamber for receiving a hydrocarbon fuel and combining it with air or water; a reformer in fluid connection with and down stream of the first chamber, which receives the hydrocarbon fuel combined with either air or water to reform the fuel to a reformate stream, which contains a hydrogen rich atmosphere; a second chamber in fluid connection with the reformer which is capable of receiving the reformate stream from the reformer; a water inlet connected to the second chamber capable of introducing water to the reformate stream; and a filter in fluid connection with and down stream of the second chamber, which is capable of preventing a substantial portion of any solid particles contained in the reformate stream from passing therethrough.

When a driving-command calculator detects the trapped small foreign matter, the door status data of other doors transmitted from the other doors' driving control apparatus is received. When the door status data shows other doors are not driven to re-opened and close with high-output thrust force, a command for switching to high-output thrust force is provided.

Abstract: A pre-hung door having a doorjamb and a door connected to the doorjamb. The door has an opening formed therein for receiving door hardware. A pre-hanging door clip is operatively connected to the door and the doorjamb to limit relative movement between the door and the doorjamb. The pre-hanging door clip includes a movement limiting structure that extends through the opening in the door and that has one end thereof engaged with the doorjamb. The pre-hanging door clip also includes a locking member that extends between the door and the door jamb to cooperatively interlock with the one end of the movement limiting structure such that relative movement between the door and the doorjamb is limited.

Abstract: A hung window carrier system and method is provided. The system includes a jamb having a pair of tracks. Also included is a sash clip to be affixed to a window sash, a carrier having a slidable portion and a window sash support portion, wherein the window sash support portion removably engages the sash clip and supports the window sash. The slidable portion slides along the jamb, and the carrier is connectable to a balance. A locking mechanism includes a jamb lock located on the jamb and a carrier lock located on the carrier, the jamb and carrier locks are configured to align with each other by sliding the carrier within the jamb. After the jamb lock and carrier lock are aligned, the locking mechanism may be used to lock the carrier in place along the jamb such that the carrier cannot move in either an upper or lower direction.

Abstract: A support shoe for a concrete pillar has a base plate and two lateral plates arranged at lateral edges of the base plate and projecting upwardly at a right angle from the base plate. At least one reinforcement bar is connected to the support shoe for introducing forces into the concrete pillar. The two lateral edges and thus also the lateral plates connected thereto are arranged at an acute angle relative to one another, wherein the two lateral plates are formed as separate components connected to the base plate.

Abstract: A protective cover for shielding a connector used for joining a building structural support post and a foundation footing disposed in the ground consisting of a shell which completely surrounds the connector and externally seals and protects the connector from the environment, back fill earth, and/or other grading materials The upper portion of the cover has a port for receiving the post and the lower portion is arranged to closely communicate with the foundation either by resting on top of the footing or by fitting over it as a cap. The cover may be formed either as a complete closed unit or as a wrap for existing installations.
